Chapter 9 - Raghvansh Birla?!

RAGHVANSH'S POV:

People might mistake me for a thief if they see me like this. I'm tired of wearing shades and mask to every single place I visit. I miss the time when I could just roam anywhere without caring how I look or what I'm wearing. I sigh.

Just to inform you guys, I'm pacing around the wards right now because I may or may not have forgotten where the reception is,

Again.

Just when I thought things couldn't get worse, I collide with someone. I try to take a deep breath and calm myself but it doesn't seem to work.

I take my Mask and shades off to throw some colourful words at the person. She picks up my book and my eyes meet hers. My mouth doesn't allow me to speak a word against her.

My breath hitches as I look into her gorgeous eyes that seem to be conveying a thousand words.

I feel my world freeze.

DO YOU EVER LOOK AT SOMEONE AND YOUR HEART FUCKING MELTS?

Holy Hell.

I gulp knowing that nothing else is going to seem appealing to me since my gaze landed on her.

Her mercury-red hair tumbled over her shoulders. Her pink Greek nose makes her look like the cutest person I've ever seen in my entire existence.

Her languid eyelashes of velvet-black blink once slowly, as if indicating her confusion. Her deep, passionate, mysterious cocoa-coloured eyes, no matter how saddened you're with the reality, a sudden feeling of calmness takes over you.

They speak in a language of theirs.

Her features are enough to drive any sane man to his knees.

Connection. We have never seen or conversed with each other before. It was transfixed, almost stuck by the confusing mixture of emotions but weirdly comforted by them - all at the same time.

My eyes quickly fall to her sinful lips that were far from innocent. I try to stop myself from covering the distance between us and taste her plump and trembling lips.

"Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine." She mutters. I quickly divert my gaze to her eyes.

Our eyes locked, the world around me started to blur, I couldn't look away. It feels like I don't be able to see anything apart from her now. My skin freezes and I feel the hair on the nape of my neck rise.

She passes me my book as her slender fingers come to my view.

"You look familiar." I hear her gasp. "Raghvansh Birla?!"

As if her looks weren't enough to kill me, she drives me crazy with her angelic voice. I wish I could record it and set it as my ringtone. It felt like a caress of rose petals around my earlobe.

She hands me the book and runs away.

I repeat. RUNS AWAY.

I put on shades and mask still starring at my book as I feel an unknown emotion creep within me. The reception comes to my view as I collect my report and sit in my car.

Calm down Raghvansh. I take a deep breath and try to analyse what just happened.

"It's okay Raghvansh. It's not like you're going to meet her again. She's just a bit different from the other girls you've seen." I lie to myself.

I NEED A SHOWER

I drive home not looking at the surrounding around me or not caring if I die.

The song playing on the radio falls onto my ear-

Now I'm under your control
And I can't take it anymore
We should make this personal
Why can't you just close the door?

I punch the steering wheel and fasten the speed to reach home before my anger takes over me.

I am someone who has always had control over whatever I do, and this - hurts my ego.
