Recap: Veera and Kanmani leave the village on Ranga's decision

Veera, Kanmani and Mathi arrived at Chennai and they booked a cab to reach the apartment. Kanmani refrained from speaking a word since the moment she walked out of her home at village. Veera tried to console her and offered her dinner but everything went futile. 

She leaned on the window with her eyes shut and opened only when the car stopped before the apartment. Mathi stopped Veera and Kanmani by the door to welcome with arthi but Veera glared at her and dragged Kanmani to his room and collected the luggage later.

Kanmani laid on the bed and slept immediately. Veera refrained from waking her and got refreshed before he left the room closing the door without disturbing her.

Mathi passed him coffee and he took it from her hand and got seated on the couch scrolling through his mobile.

Mathi: where is Kanmani ? Is she bathing ? I made coffee for her too.

Veera: You talk as if everything is fine here. She is not fine and I don't think she will be anytime soon. You didn't welcome here but you have dragged her here, shattering all the relations she had back at village. Ofcourse you won't believe because to you heart is just a chunk of meat. I will speak with you because I m your son and I can't ignore you but don't expect that from Kanmani.

Mathi: You will understand me when you become a father and Kanmani a mother. Until then hate me as much you want. I will prepare food and by then try to convince her to have food. She hasn't ate anything since yesterday afternoon.

Veera: I will take her out once she is awake. I don't want to keep her locked here. I will have some sleep too and you too rest cause you must very happy to fall asleep instantly unlike us.

He entered the room and closed the door before he laid next to Kanmani pulling her to chest. He pecked her forehead and watched her face now drained out of energy and more than that it held hurt and betrayal.

Veera Mv: I will take you back to village as soon as possible with any reason bunny baby. I can't see you like this.

He couldn't sleep and laid watching her. Two hours later he saw her waking up. 

Veera: Kanmani, please talk to me. Don't shut me out. I can't see you like this. I promise you to take you back to village.

Kanmani: I m not upset with you Veera but on my own fate but promise me you won't do  anything to take me back unless the situation force us to leave from here.

Veera hummed and she got up picking clothes from the bag to bath.

Veera: Shall I get you coffee ?

Kanmani: I m not hungry. Please don't force me.

Veera: Alright but get ready. We are going out today. I know you will be tired but I m sure you will feel better at the place I will take you.

Kanmani nodded her head and headed into the bathroom. Veera got dressed and walked out giving her space to get ready.

Mathi: Are you leaving now Veera ? I will talk to Kanmani to have some food or atleast coffee.

Veera: Let her be maa. She just woke up and I have told her to get ready to go out for sometime. Don't bother for dinner. We will have out and bring for you too.

Kanmani walked out dressed in a salwar and Veera held her hand walking out. She hopped behind him and Veera made her hold his waist before he accelerated the bike. 

He stopped before a restaurant and before she could protest he dragged her inside. He placed order for both of them and took her hands in his.

Veera: Kanmani, what is running in your mind ?

Kanmani: Nothing Veera, I expected that father would have promised this to your mother but not to the extent of throwing us away without any prior information. It hurts a lot. I haven't bid good bye to anyone, to the children whom I trained, to Radha maa, Krishna sir, my people who loved me so much. And Arul bro and Bommi, I didn't think they would do this to me.

Kanmani's lips wobbled and Veera wrapped his arm around her shoulder saying sweet nothings. They had the food in silent and once they were he took her to the beach. Kanmani closed her eyes sighing a breathe in relief when she saw the waves. Kanmani sat under the shade of a boat and Veera sat next to her passing ice cream to her.

Veera: I thought we will come to Chennai and stay here for 2 days and then travel to somewhere else for honeymoon but our people turned my enemy and spoiled all my plan.

Kanmani chuckled and Veera smiled and pinched her cheeks to see her smile. Spending some time they started walk back to the parking.

Veera: Lets go watch a movie and then have dinner before returning home.

Kanmani hummed and he drove to a mall to watch a movie. They returned home at night and Veera started working for sometime checking the mails. Before he could retired to sleep he entered the kitchen to get a bottle of water and saw his mother waiting for him.

Mathi: I m going to your uncle's home tomorrow morning. I will stay there for a week and you can have some time alone with Kanmani. Call me once you have to join your work. 

Veera felt it was right at the moment and nodded his head and they both retired to their respective rooms. Morning Kanmani watched Mathi leaving the home with her a bag in her hand. 

Veera: Kanmani, lock the door from inside and I will be back after dropping her at uncle's home. 

Kanmani hummed and locked the door once they left. She sat in the balcony and watched the garden area where children were playing. She was lost in thoughts and her trance broke when there the door bell rang. She opened it and saw Veera entering and locking the door behind him. 

He carried her in bridal style and sat on the couch still with her on his lap.

Veera: It will be only you and me for atleast a week and we shall do anything you want that will relax your mind. Tell me shall I take you out for movie or beach or temple ?

Kanmani: Lets go to the park.

Veera: Good idea. Children will be playing and there are many women who will play badminton and throw ball. You can join them too.

They locked the door and Veera lead her to the park. They got seated on a bench and watched people relaxing, chatting and some playing games. Kanmani saw a little girl trying to swirl the silambam in her hand but failing everytime.

Veera: Go teach her Kanmani. May be you can befriend some ladies and children through this until we stay here.

Kanmani: That won't end good and especially when your mother get to know so let it be.

Veera called the little girl who came running to him holding the silmabam in her hand.

Veera: This aunty is a master in silambam arts. Do you want to learn from her ? She will guide you easily.

The little girl nodded her head enthusiastically and Veera passed the silambam to Kanmani. She hesitated first but looking at the little girl she took the silambam from Veera and started teaching the little girl. She was so involved that she didn't notice the other children and women who had gathered to watch her train the little girl.

Everyone clapped when the little girl successfully did her first swirl with silambam. Kanmani saw the little crowd and turned to Veera who was also clapping his hands for her.

Veera: Hello, she is my wife and a master in Silambam. She has trained so many children to the state and national level competitions. If you are interested then you can get trained from her in the evening. She will stay here for few days.

Kanmani: Veera ???

Veera: come on Kanmani, teach them some self defence. They need it badly especially here at this apartment.

Women: Yes, we don't have any training centres nearby so can you teach us please ?

Kanmani: Sure, assemble here by 4 in the evening tomorrow.

They cheered and Kanmani, Veera returned to home. Veera explained her about the men teasing the women and how badly they need to learn self defence.

Kanmani entered the kitchen and started cooking while Veera hugged her from behind nuzzling his nose in her neck.

Kanmani: I m sorry Veera. I distanced myself from you even when you were not at fault. I spoiled all your dreams of a newly wed husband.

Veera turned her to face him and kissed her forehead with his lips lingering a little longer.

Veera: We have lifetime for everything Kanmani but right now I want you to share everything you feel, I want you to share your pain with me. I may not be able to provide a solution to the problem like which is happening in our life now but you have my shoulders to lean for comfort.

Kanmani hugged him and sobbed in his chest while he stoke her back to console her.

Veera: Shall we call Arul and uncle ? They have been calling me since the time we arrived in Chennai.

Kanmani nodded her head and Veera fished out his mobile and dialled Aruls' number immediately and he answered it in the first ring.

Arul: Veera, how are you and how is Kanmani ? Is she feeling better ? Did she have food properly? Is she still upset with us ? Are you mad at me Veera ?

Veera: Arul, hold on. We are good and Kanmani is also fine. We were not in a position to answer your calls Arul. How is uncle ? Is he ok ?

Arul: We are fine but missing you and Kanmani a lot Veera. Please forgive us. Where is Kanmani ?

Kanmani: Arul bro, how are you and how is appa ?

Arul: Kannu, please forgive your brother and appa. We never dreamt of sending you like that and it killed us more to do that to you but there was a reason and that was not only Mathi aunty.

Veera: what do you mean Arul ?

Arul: Veera, do you remember once I said appa was looking lost in thoughts frequently ?

Veera: Yeah I remember but what happened ?

Arul: On the next day of your marriage Singaram arrived at our home early in the morning. First I didn't know the reason but once he left I forced appa to reveal it and it seems Singaram had asked Kanmani's hands for marriage with his son. He had blackmailed Kanmani too. Appa was scared of her life and at the same time Mathi aunty was so stubborn in finding a bride for you. Appa pleaded with her so much but she denied curtly. He was so broken and finally he made the decision of your marriage.

To avoid Singaram and also to convince your mother he informed me to book tickets for your return. 

Veera: Kanmani, he threatened you ?

Kanmani: As if I was scared. 

Arul: Please forgive us and wait for sometime Kanmani. We will find a way to bring you back here.

Kanmani: Don't worry about that bro. where is appa ?

Ranga who was next to Arul spoke with a broken voice.

Ranga: Kanmani..

Kanmani: Appa, I m sorry. Please forgive me. You should have spoke to me. Didn't I say that don't pay heed to that idiot's words ? You got us married because of his threat but you should have let us stay back appa.

Ranga: You are still young Kanmani so you won't realize my fear for my children's life. Don't hurt your aunty, Kanmani. Time heals everything and everything will be fine.

Kanmani: You take care appa. We are fine here.

Kanmani cut the call and Veera could see the hurt in her eyes. He pulled her to his embrace and kissed her temple saying sweet nothings to console her.
