Recap: Singaram threatens Kanmani to marry his son. Veera wanted Kanmani to agree to his mother's condition.

Veera sighed rubbing his temples when Kanmani continued to rant about her day at the school with the children and the training. Veera gritted his teeth knowing her way of ignoring his question for the past two weeks since the night he asked her about agreeing to his mother's conditions.

Flashback:

Veera: Kanmani, please listen to for once. Just agree with whatever my mother ask you and lets get married first. I will handle everything and after our marriage. 

Kanmani: and why can't you do that before marriage and talk to your mother about it ? If you can really do that then why do you want me to agree to her conditions now ?

Veera: The scenario will be entirely different Kanmani. We will be married and no one can take you away from me. I can do anything then but I m scared to do it. what if I lose you ?

Kanmani: Veera, you don't understand the intensity of the demand we both have for you. 

Veera: Ok Kanmani, I agree with your words. If you both are so stubborn on your condition then I m sure there must be a reason behind it. Don't tell me there is no reason because I m not so stupid to take your lies. Now tell me the reason and I need to know that. 

Kanmani: Go ask your mother.

She cut the call and Veera pulled his hair in frustration stuck between the two women.

Flashback ends

Its been two weeks and everytime they called each other they would speak anything and eveything but when Veera questioned her about the reason Kanmani would ignore as if she hadn't heard him and start ranting about all other things. 

Veera once again sighed calling her to stop her rantings and to answer his question.

Kanmani: Veera, I don't have any answer to your question. If you are irritated with my talks then be assured that I won't call you anymore.

Veera: I never said that Kanmani. Do you think I haven't asked my mother but she is as stubborn as you. Why don't you both imagine my situation being stuck between you both ? If you both can't give up then what do you both want me to do ?

Kanmani: Ok, Can you convince your mother to let us stay in the village for a year after our marriage ? I can return to Chennai with you after a year. 

Veera: I will talk to her but you won't tell the reason. Isn't it ?

Kanmani: Good night Veera.

Veera: My work is over. I will return to Chennai and come over there with amma.

Kanmani: hmmm. I will clean your home.

They cut the call and Kanmani saw Arul standing at the threshold of her room.

Arul: Why do you do this Kanmani ? You cannot blow air beyond the limit the balloon can hold. You can only regret if the balloon burst but you cannot fix it. He is just an ordinary man and you both woman are pushing him beyond his limits. Don't regret later.

Kanmani: I will be pushed into the deepest pit of guilt if I agree to Mathi aunt's words and that regret will kill me brother.

Arul: I don't understand Kanmani. You are my sister and I want you to be happy. If there is something I can do please tell me but don't sacrifice both your happiness for any reason.

Kanmani nodded her head and Arul returned to his room. 

Kanmani and Veera didn't call the two days and Veera returned to his home in Chennai. Mathi saw his gloomy face and knew he was upto something and waited for him to open up.

That night after dinner she saw him packing most of his things.

Mathi: Veera, you just came today and why are you packing again ? 

Veera: Pack your things too maa. We are leaving to village in the morning but before that I need to talk to you.

He made Mathi sit on the bed and he stood leaning on the wall.

Veera: Maa, I talked to Kanmani. She agreed to return to Chennai after marriage but she need a year time for that.

Mathi: What ? Veera, I m not letting you stay there even for a month and here you are saying about a year. If she can't agree to my words then forget her.

Veera: That is not happening maa. You and Kanmani both are important in my life. Pack your things and we are leaving tomorrow morning. I m really tired with everything you are doing to me. 

Mathi: Veera, you cannot say this to me. Why don't you say this to Kanmani ?

Veera: How funny ? You both say the same words to me. I did maa, I m not taking anybody's side here and trying to be a peacemaker between you and your niece. Now let me sleep.

Mathi walked out and Veera laid on the bed trying get everything out of his mind for sometime. Next day they arrived at the village and Arul drove them to their home on Mathi's insistence.

Arul: Aunty, Kanmani has cooked dinner for you both. 

Mathi: No, we are tired and I will manage something so don't worry.

Arul: Ok then, I will bring dinner here.

Mathi: No  Arul, I will take care. you should be tired so go take rest and we will meet your father tomorrow.

They were interrupted with the sound of Bommi's voice and they saw Kanmani and Bommi entering the home carrying a bag in her hand.

Kanmani: Aunty, how are you ? See, I brought dinner for you. Have it and take rest.

Veera saw Kanmani who was not looking at him. She placed the bag on the table and walked out of the home. Veera followed her and called her stopping her.

Veera: Why did you bring dinner when we could have come there ?

Kanmani: If you think you know your mother more than me then you are wrong. I know she will not come to have food unless she talks to my father about our marriage. Go have dinner and take rest.

Veera: You could turn and talk looking at me Kanmani. 

Kanmani: I don't want to be your weakness and create problem between mother and son. 

She walked away to reach Bommi who drove the cycle leaving Kanmani to talk with Veera. Arul patted his back and left from there.

Veera placed plates for him and his mother and started serving dinner for both of them.

Veera: I don't need to tell you about Kanmani. She is very nice girl and she loves everyone. I may not know the reason you both are hiding but I can guess that it must be same reason. Either of you have to tell me the reason and I m not taking a no this time. Not from you or not from Kanmani.

Mathi saw Veera's jaw clenched and they had the dinner with no words exchanged. 

Next day morning Veera and Mathi arrived at Kanmani's home and Ranga welcomed them inside.

Ranga: Kanmani, bring breakfast for aunty and Veera.

Mathi: We had our breakfast brother.

Ranga knew something was off from the way she spoke and nodded his head. Kanmani passed water to them and Veera took from her.

Veera: Kanmani, what did you cook for breakfast ?

Kanmani: Dosa, chutney

Veera: Serve me. I will have some. Where is Arul ?

Ranga smiled at the way Veera was trying to bridge the gap between them that has started to grow.

Mathi: Brother, I will come straight to my point. Veera said that Kanmani wanted to stay here for a year after marriage but I m not agreeing to it. I m not letting Veera stay here any longer. Either you talk to her and if she is ok then we will get them married or I will find some other girl for Veera.

Ranga: Mathi, what are you saying ? They are our children and we are supposed to support their wishes. We cannot destroy their dreams just like that. It was Manickam's wish to get them married too.

Mathi: But he is not alive now. 

Veera placed the plate and licked his finger but his clenched jaws said otherwise.

Veera: Uncle, I will accept to anything both your sister and daughter has to say in this marriage but I need to know the reason for their condition and we are not having any discussion on marriage unless they open up about it.

He returned to the kitchen where Kanmani was standing listening to everything. He washed the plate and his hands looking at her who was still not facing him.

He pulled her pallu and dried his hand to get her attention but when nothing happened he pulled her to him and started kissing her locking her against the wall. When they broke the kiss he leaned to her ear and spoke for only her to hear.

Veera: You are my wife and that will not change for any reason. You better tell me the reason on your own and we will work on it.

He walked out of the kitchen and saw Mathi was throwing daggers at him. Ranga's mobile rang and he saw it was Ishwar so he excused from them to answer the call with Veera following him leaving the aunty and niece together.

Kanmani: Don't you think you are betraying both your husband and son by doing this ?

Mathi: Everything is fair to me when it comes to my son. You will not know my concern because you are not married yet and you don't have a son.

Kanmani: Ofcourse I will never do like what you are doing.

Mathi: I will not stay here Kanmani. I will somehow convince Veera and take him away from here. Either you agree to my words. 

Kanmani: Try your best but remember you will be the one who will hurt him when he comes to know the reason but don't worry I will not tell and keep the promise I made you but I cannot say the same for you. you will regret doing all this when Veera comes to know about it. He will hate you beyond you could imagine.

Mathi: That is only if he will know. 

They heard footsteps and stopped their conversation. Kanmani saw Ranga's worried face and he was hesitating to talk having Mathi.

Veera: Kanmani, we are leaving to Chennai. It was Ishwar's call and he wanted us there for a day. Pack your things.

Mathi: Veera, what are you doing ? How could you decide on your own ? I already told you not to interfere in his business. I don't want you to get into any trouble.

Veera: I m not a kid maa. I can handle myself and take care of me and Kanmani. Ishwar is like a brother to me and I respect Radha maa and Krishan appa a lot. I m bound to do this to their son. Lets go and I need to pack my things now.

Ranga: We will talk once they return from Chennai.

Mathi: You say this everytime but nothing has changed so far.

She stormed out following Veera. Ranga shook his head and sat on the couch. 

Kanmani: Appa, don't worry about anything. whatever is in our destiny will happen. What did Ishwar bro say to you on call ?

Ranga: He sounded serious this time and seems like something is about to happen. Veera spoke to him and you get ready quickly. Handle the situation carefully if goes out of control.

Kanmani: I will handle and you don't worry about anything. I will call Arul bro and inform him about us leaving.

Ranga: I will go inform Radha and Krishnan about this.

Kanmani nodded her head and saw him leaving. She felt guilty to look at her father who was being worried about everything happening.

Krishnan was furious when Ranga informed them about Ishwar's call. Radha and Ranga tired to stop him but he was scolding Ishwar for everything he was doing.

Radha: This is not time to scold him. I m scared of what is happening to Ishwar and Anika. Let Veera and Kanmani leave now.

Ishwar: Ranga inform Veera and Kanmani to bring Anika here. If he has decided to rot in that hell then he can do and not drag that poor girl into his mess.

Veera and Kanmani arrived there in the bike with Arul following them in the cycle.

Radha: Kanmani, take care of Anika. I don't know what is happening to her. Ishwar called me just now and informed me get a room ready for Anika. He said he will send men to get the room ready like how he wanted it to be for her. I think its serious this time. 

Kanmani: Everything will be fine Radha maa. I will handle Anika. You arrange for her dresses and I will call you at the right time because we don't know what is happening there.

Radha hummed and Kanmani, Veera took their leave and drove of to Chennai.
