Recap: Veera, Kanmani and everyone have a good time at the temple fair.
***************
Kanmani was having breakfast when Veera arrived with a box in his hand. He saw her not wearing any bangles in her hand and smiled at the thought. He sat on the sofa waiting for them to finish breakfast and once they were done he went to her room and returned with a matching bangle and slid it in her hand. Ranga and Arul smiled at the couple and Veera sat comfortably taking Kanmani's palm to his thigh and opened the box of mehendi paste.
Ranga: Nee arachiya Veera ? ( Did you grind the paste Veera ?)
Veera smiled nodding his head and he started applying it on her palm while the father and son sat watching his skill and giving ideas for designs but ended up with dots in the palm and caps on tip of her fingers.
Kanmani smiled widely showing her palms to her father and brother.
Kanmani: Appa, Arul brother how is it ?
Ranga and Arul showed a super sign and Ranga left to look after his farm. Arul and Veera sat to play card and Kanmani pouted for not being able to play. She sat next to Arul to help him and forced him to play the choice of her card making him lose his game.
Arul: Madam neenga unga husband ku support pannunga madam. enakku nane vilayadikuren. ( Madam, you support your husband only. I will play on myself )
Veera: Nee vaa chellam mama ku help pannu. ( You come to mama and help me dear )
Arul: Is it ok if you lose the game ?
Veera: Anything for her...
Arul smirked and they started playing again. Veera lost his mind from game when Kanmani leaned on him to look at the card and all he could feel was her body pressed against his. He just followed her leads and ended up losing the game.
Arul: when did she win a game in all our life that you decided to follow her lead.
Veera smiled at his words and Kanmani moved pouting at her brother. When Arul went to the kitchen to drink water Veera pulled Kanmani closer and whispered in her ear what happened when they played cards and she nudged him and ran to her room blushing.
Arul passed water to Veera and they decided to watch movie. A few minutes later Kanmani returned and sat at a distance and Veera controlled his smile.
Arul: Day after tomorrow is our pooja in the temple. We will have to cook for the people and serve them after the pooja.
Kanmani: I will give the list of things to be brought and you go buy everything tomorrow. We can start cooking early morning.
Arul: We are doing this pooja to pray god for your marriage to happen without any problem.
Veera: I hope this one month time when I m at Bangalore will change everything. I think its better to send amma to Chennai until I return so that Kanmani can do her training at Nilakottai school without any trouble from my mother.
Kanmani: How long will you or we will hide my works from her ?
Veera: I told her about your work at Nilakottai school already and we are not hiding from her. I just don't want her to talk anything bad to you when I won't there to defend you. I m telling you again Kanmani you both are important to me and trying my best to make her understand because I can understand you.
Kanmani: What if she never agree at all ?
Arul: Kanmani, we will think only positive results. Let Veera go complete his work.
Veera: Go sleep if you want and I will cook today.
Kanmani retired to her room and Veera, Arul started cooking lunch. When she woke up Veera served the food in a plate to feed her. Arul caught Veera's hand stopping him.
Arul: en thangachikku naa dhan ooti viduven. ( I will feed my sister )
Veera: I will feed my wife first then you feed your sister. Get lost idiot.
Arul sat on the sofa with a grumpy face and watched Veera feeding Kanmani but he was feeling so happy for them in his heart. When Kanmani was done Veera moved to Arul and fed him a morsel to console him.
Arul dramatically wiped his tears on Veera's sleeves and pulled him to sit next to him and leaned on his shoulder.
Veera: If you don't get up now then I will smack the plate on your head. This place is only for your sister.
Arul caught his chest and when Veera moved away he fell down. Kanmani burst into laughter.
Arul: Kuppura Naan Vizhuthuputta Thokki Vida Nenachiruppa Kuppura Naan Vizhuthuputta Thokki Vida Nenachiruppa Renduthukkum Naduvula Ava Aramani Neram Sirichiruppa Aaha Enna Sirippu Ithu Vaalu Vecha Porappu
Veera: Arul, I will talk to Ranga uncle that I will take care of the expenses of this pooja. Call me tomorrow when you go to buy things and I will accompany you. Me and Kanmani will together work on this pooja.
Arul: Super Veera. It is actually good.
Veera: Kannu go wash your hands. Its a very long time and let us see the color of your mehendi.
Kanmani went to the backyard and returned hiding her hands behind her. Veera and Arul were ready to see and she slowly showed the dark maroon color of her mehendi. Veera touched her palm and winked at her.
Veera: Beautiful. See you would have not got this color if you got from that man.
Arul and Veera hified looking at Kanmani but she left dashing away between them.
Skip to the day of Pooja:
Veera reached Ranga's home early in the morning to help Kanmani and Ranga in the cooking. When he arrived Arul and Ranga were cutting vegetables and Kanmani was grinding masalas in the kitchen. He sat next to Ranga taking the knife from him and started cutting the vegetables. Kanmani came out with tea for them and continued her work. Together they started cooking and Veera did all the stirring work to reduce Kanmani's work.
Kanmani: enna Veera venduthal balama irukku polaye. ( what Veera, looks like the prayers are too strong )
Veera: Yen unakku illama dhan ivlo vela panriya. Eppadiyo namakku kalyanam seekiram nadandha seri ( Why ? are you doing all these work without any prayers ? Anyhow it will be good if we get married soon )
Kanmani: Yes, pray well that we both will offer pooja for 48 days immediately from the first day of our marriage.
Veera stopped stirring and gasped at her in shock.
Veera: Bunny baby I beg you. Please don't make any such prayer and play with my feelings. Have some pity on me. May be we will do that 48 days pooja after the birth of our second child.
Kanmani: So you will get bored of me after the second child ?
Veera called Arul to stir the gravy and he folded his hands towards Kanmani with a sad face.
Veera: Often you prove that you have the same blood as Ranga uncle and my mother running in your veins. Don't you have a little bit of gene from my poor aunty who gave birth to you ?
Arul: what happened Veera ?
Veera: Enna da thangachi valathu vechurukka ? ( How have you raised your sister man ?)
Arul: I m very proud of her Veera. Look at her how innocent she is. Just like a baby.
Veera yanked the ladle from him and gestured him to leave and Kanmani chuckled at his reaction.
Kanmani: We are cooking for serving at the temple so keep all your thoughts away and let us cook with the thought that people will be fed well and they will bless us happily.
Veera: This is why I love you bunny baby..
Once their work was over they quickly got ready and left to the temple in a van in which they loaded all the food containers. As soon they reached the temple Mathi saw Kanmani wearing a purple silk saree and Veera was wearing a shirt matching her saree. She smiled at them as they looked perfect together. Ranga passed all the pooja items to the priest and made Veera and kanmani to stand together for the pooja.
Veera and Kanmani closed their eyes and prayed from their heart about their wishes to get married. The priest offered a garland to Ranga to put it around Veera's neck and he did as the priest told. Later Arul, Kanmani and Veera started serving the food to the people. Ranga and Mathi were happy to see them do everything.
Ranga saw the foreteller old man of the village sitting under a tree without having food so he served the food in a plate and walked to him.
Ranga: Ayya, sapadu kondu vandhuirukken sapdunga. ( Ji, I have brought food for you please have it )
Foreteller: enna vishesham Ranga ? ( what is the special Ranga ?)
Ranga: today we offered pooja for my daughter and my sister's son to get married. You know my daughter Kanmani and he is Veera there serving food along with Kanmani.
Foreteller: Why do you want to marry them ?
Ranga: They grew up together and always liked each other. Now they both wanted to get married to each other and are very strong in that. Also my late brother in law's wish was to marry Kanmani to his son.
Foreteller: So why are you doing pooja instead getting them married ?
Ranga: There is some misunderstanding between Kanmani and my sister and I m praying the god to get my children married. Please bless them to get married soon. I don't have any other wish other than that.
Foreteller: How do you want your daughter's marriage to happen ? what will you do for that ?
Ranga's excitement kick started as he sat next to the foreteller placing the food before him.
Ranga: I have so many dreams for my daughter's marriage. I will the book the biggest hall for their wedding and invite the whole village for it. I will buy everything she wanted for the marriage and I can't wait to see her like a goddess dressed up in silk and gold.
The foreteller started laughing and Ranga frowned with a fear in his heart.
Foreteller: You are too greedy Ranga.. Man proposes but god disposes.
Ranga was shocked to hear his words and he rose to his feet with tears in his eyes.

A/N:
Since the response is very low to the plot, I have planned to wrap this story sooner than expected. Two more chapters and I will be rushing the sequences. I will be forced to cut out many moments and sequences which I had planned initially but I will give a proper ending to justify the plot.
Thank you to the readers who have helped to reach 50K reads finally. Lots of love to you all.
