Recap: Veera's plan fails when his mother ask him to promise to not go back on his words.

Kanmani was shocked to hear Veera's question yet she tried to hide any emotions and gave a gentle smile. But Veera did question her again.

Veera: Kanmani, I m serious tell me if there is something going on between you and my mother? How were you so sure that she will not believe my words and how could my mother say for sure that you would have not agreed so easily ? I m surprised and shocked.

Kanmani leaned a little and gestured Veera to come forward. Veera looked at Arul they both leaned towards Kanmani.

Kanmani: Actually me and your mother made a bet to see whom you will support.

She burst out laughing and they glared at her. 

Arul: hey thangachi comedy pannadha. Ippo enna dhan panradhu. Rendu perula yarachum vittu kudunga pavam Veera avana pathi yosinga.( Hey sister, stop your comedy. What should we do now ? Think of Veera and one of you compromise )

Kanmani: I m doing this for all of us. I have lot of work for the baby shower tomorrow.

Veera looked at her face then her abdomen. He mouthed " how " and  Kanmani showed her forefinger in a warning sign. Veera bit his lips and turned his face to hide his smile.

Arul: Appo nee avvaiyar dhan, ivan devadas dhan. ( then you will be avvaiyar and he will be devdass)

Veera: Give some idea or we don't have problem in being avvaiyar or devdass because you will also be single.

Arul: naa yenda single ah irukanum ? ( Why should I be single man ?)

Veera: Ohh so you will get married when me and your sister are single ?

Arul: ofcourse, I will get married and you both take care of my children. I will be happy with my wife. 

Veera: Aruley avlo dhan la ? Seri pa nalla sandhoshama iru. Nanga eppadi pona unakku enna ? Un thangachiya naa pathukuren kavala padadha.. ( Arul, that is right ? ok man, be happy. Why would you worry with what happens to us ? I will take care of your sister so don't worry )

Arul's lips wobbled and he hugged Veera patting his back.

Arul: I will never marry unless you both get married. This is my promise to both of you. You both are my life.

Kanmani pulled them apart and looked at Arul's face when he wiped the non existing tears and she scoffed at him.

Kanmani: Both of you get out and don't waste my time with your drama skills.

Arul smiled sheepishly and laid on the couch and munched on the roasted groundnut placed in the bowl.

Arul: Namma oor kovil thiruvizha rendu naal la start agum. 15 naal thiruvizha adhu vara time irukku pathukalam. Thiruvizha mudiyura vara yarum oora vittu poga koodadhu adhunala onnum prechana illa.  ( Our village temple's fair starts in two days and goes on for 15 days and we have time until then. No one is supposed to leave the village until the fair ends so no problem )

Veera: Wow...fantastic... but we can't waste time and should find a way out of this.

Kanmani: Both of you stop being childish and come to reality. What way will you find to fix everything ? Either I have to give up my condition or aunty has to give up being stubborn. both of which is not going to happen.

Veera turned serious hearing her words and he knew deep in his heart her words were true. He stood with his hand in his pocket and looked at her.

Veera: What should I do ? I can't force you or my mother to give up. You both won't give up even if I beg then what should I do now ? Let us live like this only then, without getting married. What else should I do ?

He looked pissed and Arul tried to calm him down but Veera shrugged and walked out frustrated for not being able to find a way to marry Kanmani. 

Arul: Atleast neeyachum konjam adjust pannalam la papa. Avanum enna dhan seivan ? rendu perum pidivadhama irundha avan enna seivan ? ( Atleast you could adjust child. What will he do ? If you both are stubborn then what could be do ?)

Arul walked out to follow Veera and Kanmani sat sobbing. Arul stopped Veera before he was gone too long.

Arul: Deii ippadi veliya vandhuta prechana seri aguma ? Neenga rendu perum sanda podadhinga da. First Kanmani ya poi paru mathadhellam apram pesikalam. ( Hey, will the problem get solved if you walk out like this ? You both don't get into a fight. Firs of all go and look after Kanmani and we will discuss everything else later)

Veera sighed and nodded his head. He returned and saw Kanmani crying standing in the kitchen and hugged her.

Veera: Sorry di, unmela kovama lam pola, enakku enna panradhu puriyala. ( Sorry, I didn't leave because I was angry with you. I don't know what should I do)

Kanmani: Innoru mura enna vittu pona apram enna eppavum pakka matta Veera. ( If you leave one more time then you will never see me Veera )

Veera: Hey paithiyam madhiri pesadha. Naa dhan poga matten solliten la. Nambu di. ( Hey, don't talk like crazy. I said I will never leave. Trust me girl )

Kanmani: Unna mattum dhan namburen Veera.. ( I trust only you veera )

Veera: Yen kitta yedhachum sollanuma Kanmani..yedhunalum sollu ma naa pathukuren.                 ( Do you want to say anything to me Kanmani ? Whatever it is say it to me and I will take care )

Kanmani Mv: I can't Veera, I m sorry. One day you will know it from your mother and you will be broken but I will be there to hold you. I will be with you all the time Veera.

Kanmani shook her head still crying and he cupped her face and wiped the tears. Kanmani held his collars and placed her lips on his as they kissed to calm their minds.  when they broke the kiss he gave a peck on her forehead.

Veera: Wear the silk saree for the main day of the fair. We will go together to the stalls and buy anything you want. I have missed 8 years and this year we will go around together and enjoy to the fullest.

Kanmani: I want matching bangles for all my dresses.

Veera: Valayal kadaiye vaangi tharen.. ( I will buy a bangle shop for you )

Kanmani: Venam, kaasu waste panna koodadhu adhunala naa solra color mattum vaagina podhum. apram panju mittai vanganum ne pona apram naa adha sapdave illa. Nee saptiya ?         ( No, we shouldn't waste the money so buy me only the colors I wanted. And we should buy cotton candy, I haven't ate it since you left. Did you eat ?)

Veera stood with his one had next to her head on the wall and one hand caressing her waist looking into her eyes.

Veera: I used to buy but never ate it. Your excitement on seeing it will come to my mind and I will miss eating it with you so I too never ate all these years. 

Kanmani: Good.. we will together..

Veera: together ? I would love that..

Kanmani: together means we will buy one for each and eat theirs. you get too many ideas.

Veera: Ideas ? I haven't even thought of any ideas so be happy for that else in a few months we should be preparing for your baby shower.

Kanmani smacked his arm as her cheeks turned red. She pushed him and tried to leave but he pulled her back and nuzzled his face in her neck placing kisses.

Kanmani: Veeraaaa..

She called him but ended up moaning when he kissed her sweet spot and groped her bosom. soon he backed off and winked at her.

Veera: I can't take a cold shower at this time. So I will meet you later. bye for now. I have work tonight so I will not be coming for dinner. Don't wait for me. I will see you tomorrow at the function.

He kissed her cheeks and left to his home. 

Next day early morning Kanmani, Arul, Bommi and Ranga visited Shanthi's home and started cooking for the function. Arul and Bommi helped with all the cuttings and masala grindings. Ranga and Kanmani cooked the food.

By 9 they finished all the cooking and saw other arrangements were done too. Kanmani entered the room and saw Radha getting the girl ready for the baby shower. 

Radha: Shanthi, is everything ready and have the in laws of your daughter arrived ?

Shanthi: They have arrived sister. We can start the ritual now.

Radha took the girl out and made her sit on the seat which was kept for her. Shanthi and Radha started the rituals and applied the sandal paste on the girl's cheek and made her wear bangles. Veera arrived at time and watched the ritual, his eyes moved the sight of his girl who was standing dressed in a simple saree yet looked so elegant to his eyes. 

Their eyes met and he cocked his eyebrows gesturing to the bangles on the plate. Kanmani blushed and averted her gaze from him. Veera couldn't help imagine Kanmani seated and the ritual happening for her. He and Kanmani would be the most happiest on that day. His thoughts were stopped by a shrill scream and saw the girl's husband screaming at her.

Girl's husband: You said your mother will give the money today and now what happened? the whole family is acting like nothing.

Girl: amaidhiya irunga, function mudinja apram pesalam. ( Keep quite, we will talk after the function is over )

Girl's husband: Why should I be quite ? I have been waiting patiently but not anymore. Now the baby shower will also be over and when will you give the money.

Ranga: Yenna panam kekkura pa nee ? Yedhuva irundhalum apram pesu. ( what money are you asking for ? Whatever it is talk later )

Girl's husband: I can't wait. They promised to give 2 lakhs at the time of marriage but still I haven't got the money.

Kanmani: Why should they give two lakhs ? She is your wife now and in a month she will deliver the child. You will be a father so please talk and behave properly. Your wife's rituals are going on.

Girl's husband: I married her because they agreed to pay dowry of 2 lakhs.

Kanmani: Dowry ? Seriously.? Don't you know it is a crime to take dowry. In which year are you living ? if you are so much interested in the money then you should have not touched her until you got the money. 

Girl's husban: Will you not give dowry if you get married or will you run away to get married so that your father will not have to spend money for your marriage ?

Veera was pissed and held the man's collars gritting his teeth. Arul gasped when he saw Mathi standing there looking at her son with a shock.
