14. Cornflower Blue

Skyla knew something was wrong when Ciel didn't come to school for a whole week so after school one day she walked to his house. She knew where he lived because the bus stopped there everyday.

She rang the doorbell and was shocked when the woman answered. The woman, who Skyla assumed was Ciel's Mother, stood in the door way weeping silently. She was wearing a rumpled cornflower blue dress that looked as she had worn it for days. Skyla introduced herself and asked for Ciel. When She mentioned Ciel the woman cried harder. Then she said something that shattered Skyla's heart.
