Chapter 5

--= Third + Person =--

The next two days were the longest the boys had ever experienced, with their anticipation and dread clashing against each other and settling itself steady inside the boys chests. Kirishima was worried about what could go wrong, and Todoroki was too, though you wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at him.

Yet through time and gaining the knowledge of knowing Todoroki as a genuine person, you would know when he was worrying and when he was not by the smallest of gestures he had made. But for Katsuki, this was a moment that was going to change his life.

What if he wasn't even there? Where would he find another lead? Is there another lead? Is this all just some last resort spike of hope that's going to crash down into the depths of reality below?

Katsuki didn't want to know, the only thing he wanted to know was if his childhood friend was still alive, and if he was alive, how close he was to death.

He hoped it was far. Farther than any stars in the galaxy could ever dare to reach. Yet unluckily, Katsuki knew somehow deep down in his gut that something quite disastrous had to have happened for his friend to wind up in a place such as that.

His heart clenched at the thought, his throat tightening quickly, a snake of guilt hung heavily around his neck, and he bared it, trying to stay through until the day he was free. Katsuki was not a weakling, he wouldn't give up.

Ever.

And he definitely wasn't going to go without a fight and one hell of a good explanation for what the fuck happened. But what he wanted the most was for his friend to be okay. Izuku Midoriya, his little friend ended up in lots of trouble, if he isn't dead in a ditch somewhere already.

Katsuki's stomach lurched, and he quickly turned the other way. He couldn't think like that, the guilt.... it drove him mad. Mad enough to the point of not being able to control himself. He scared himself sometimes, but he'd never admit it.

How far he pushed himself to be number one, would be stronger than anyone he's seen so far. Yet there's always a bigger fish in another lake, and Katsuki was starting to open up a problem he wouldn't be able to close as easily. The spark the shades needed to start their movement.

The clock was ticking down to the hour, and while Katsuki shrugged on his sweater and marched out of his house, he growled to see Kirishima and Todoroki at the end of the street waiting. Walking past the two, he looked behind him and scowled "Come on, we have a lot to do."

"Katsuki. We should be smart about this." Todoroki's hand raising slowly, reaching for Katsuki's shoulder, he quickly swatted it away, glowering over Todoroki menacingly, his teeth bared.

"Ah?" Standing up tall to meet eye to eye with Todoroki, he narrowed his eyes, the red inside them shining fiercely."I AM being smart about this. Come Kirishima."

The red head stiffening in surprise, he quickly melted it off and jogged to catch up to Katsuki, both of them walking down the street, Kirishima trying to convince Katsuki to give Todoroki a chance as Todoroki walked behind them, worry swirling inside his chest.

What if they get hurt? Or the person they're saving is hurt? What if he doesn't want to be saved in the first place? Will he be there? Will anyone be there?

Todoroki continued to try to shake off these negative thoughts, but as he looked onward and set his focus on the impatient Bakugo, his chest felt heavier than it was moments ago, something will more than likely go wrong, but I have no idea how to stop it.

This is a suicide mission.
