"Umm...Rits, I wanna talk with you." Zoya said as Aaditya wasn't with her today.

"Yeah!" Ritika replied holding Satvik's hand as if she was scared that Zoya may ask anything which she was uncomfortable to answer.

"Actually, I wanna talk only with Ritika," Zoya said eyeing Satvik.

Zoya asked Ritika to talk with her although Ritika was hesitant, Zoya's guilty expression made Ritika think twice before making a decision.

"Rits, I think you should go," Satvik whispered in Ritika's ears. Ritika looked at Satvik. She nodded in yes as she didn't know why but she trusted herself with Satvik. A part of her knew that he won't let anything nasty things happen to her.

Zoya took Ritika to the garden. Also, without their knowledge, Satvik was following both the girls. He knew it was wrong to eavesdrop on somebody but the history of Ritika with Zoya made him protective towards Ritika.
Also, his new feelings towards her were growing stronger.

"What happened?" Ritika asked in a low tone as soon as they sat on the garden bench.

ZOYA'S POV

"I...I...wanna apologise," I said looking at the ground and Ritika was stunned by my words.

"Huh?" Ritika asked startled by the sudden transformation.

Flashback

I was in my room thinking about Rits and Aadi when my mom came.

"Zoya, what happened? Why are you not asleep yet?" She asked caressing my hair and I made her sit. I rested my head on her lap closing my eyes and she began to massage my hair lovingly.

"Hmm...I missed this!" I moaned as her massage is damn relaxing.

"Zoya, Are you fine? Does anything happened in college?" Mom asked me and I opened my eyes quickly.

"Mom, no... nothing, can't I lay on your lap without any reason," I said trying to be as calm as I could.

"You can, but I'm your mom so I know what your mood is and would try to make it better!" Mom said and yes she is right she can understand the very next second if I'm right or wrong.

"It's okay if you don't wanna tell me, Zoya. But I wanna say something, be with Ritika and Aaditya. You know Ritika had suffered loads and she only has Aaditya and you who care for her selflessly." She said and I was in deep guilt. I have given her the pain.

"Mom, what if I hurt someone?" I asked looking in a daze in front of me.

"Then ask sorry, it's simple. You are my good girl na, everyone makes mistakes but one should learn and correct them." She said and pecked my forehead.

"Mom, what if it's too late?" I asked her holding her hand. She smiled and caressed my forehead with one hand.

"It's never too late, but if you keep sleeping then definitely it will be late." Mom teased me pulling the duvet.

Flashback ends

The moment Ritika said to us that she was in love with Satvik I don't know why but I began to be normal with her.

This abrupt behavioural change in me made Ritika upset, though her expressions were as if she wanted to confront me also she didn't expect me to be this straightforward.

"Rits, I'm so sorry and I really mean it and please don't think it's because of Satvik and your relationship. I was guilty of what I did to you. I always hurt you with my words and actions but still, you were nice to me all time." I said holding her tightly as if she will fade away.

"Zoya..." Rits was about to say something but I cut her in middle.

"Don't think that I'm asking sorry because I want to hurt you more, it's just that I realised that it's not in our hands to love someone and in those days if you liked Aadi then I must have taken it sportingly but I acted childishly," I told her and I don't understand when the tears started rolling down my cheeks.

Rits wiped my cheeks and hugged me tightly as I was getting breathless. She still remembers it as she was patting my back.

"Zoya, it's okay! Calm down." Ritika said and kept caressing my back while I hugged her back tightly as it's been ages I felt her warmth.

"So...am I forgiven?" I asked hoping she will forgive me as she is the one who forgives anyone easily.

"Zoya... let me be honest, I love you as a friend and I was never angry at you it's just that things between us weren't normal and...I think... I... I need some time as it's very sudden for me." She said and I was startled by her reply.

If it was old Ritika she would have melted instantly but her new transformation was impressive. I always wanted her to think before taking any decision and finally, she is changing obviously for good.

"I'm ready to wait, and I'm with you if it's your choice to be with Satvik or not doesn't matter," I said as I now understand everyone needs a second chance.

I already judged many people by one instance but now I think it's coming back to me. Karma!

Third-person POV

Ritika and Zoya talked for few minutes and Zoya was visibly relaxed. She was feeling like a heavyweight was taken from her body.

"Rits, can I drop you?" Zoya asked and Ritika was getting nervous.

"Umm...I...I'm... going with Satvik." Ritika answered and Zoya smiled.

"It's okay, no issues! But tell me when you would need help I promise I will be there!" Zoya said.

"Yeah! Let's leave it's getting late." Ritika said and Zoya nodded.

Ritika messaged Satvik to meet her at parking while he deliberately made sure to go late as he wanted the girls to sort the things out.

"Umm...can we walk together till the parking. I promise I won't force you." Zoya asked with hope in her eyes and Ritika couldn't say no so she nodded her head in yes.

Both of them were walking in silence, only the hustle and bustle of college could be heard.

"Zoya...can I ask you something? I know it's maybe late but... I really wanna know." Ritika said hesitantly fidgeting her fingers.

"Yes," Zoya answered not knowing what will Ritika ask.

"Umm...woh...why you thought that I love Aadi and will take him away from you?" Ritika asked and Zoya was damn stunned by this question.

Zoya never wanted to remember that night again. She already wasted lots of time thinking about it and behaving badly with Ritika. She kept her past at the back of her mind but currently, Ritika is bringing it again.

"Zoya, I don't know what made you think that but until and unless we didn't clear things out, we can't move on. I know that I always keep things in mind and thus kept hurting myself but now I have a person who is there for me without judging me." Ritika said making Zoya dazed.

Ritika was unknowingly trusting Satvik more than anyone else. She always remembers his words when she feels low. She never knew why his words have always made an impact on her but definitely, she was getting close to him.

"Rits, should we talk about this later?" Zoya asked as she wasn't sure to let her insecurities out as she doesn't want to look foolish or childish now.

"Umm... Then let's talk when you feel like sharing the truth." Ritika said as she wanted her life to be simple without complex things.

But only if she knows that much more dramas are on the way in her life.

"Can you meet me  somewhere else? Let's talk there when we don't have classes and please try to come alone." Zoya said after a few minutes and Ritika was getting nervous about why she brought the topic back but also was confident to face the truth.

"Okay! Tomorrow noon when Aadi and Satvik have basketball practice we can talk in the cafe outside the college." Ritika said and Zoya was thinking but agreed eventually.
