| Chapter 5: Tension. |

"Blood on the back stoop and a tuff of fur." Sam thought out loud as the rest of us looked up from our books.

Nick stood over me, not knowing exactly what to do, but kept periodically reading over my shoulder.

Dean was standing across the room, flipping through some books but periodically looking in my direction - which meant he kept getting caught by Nick, who seemed to tense up with every peek.

Sam sighed, as Bobby cleared his throat, earning the attention of the room.

"According to the internet," He sighed, watching as I passed the book I was digging through to Nick and moved next to Bobby. "there are some strange occurrences about four towns over, and it lines up with wolf attacks."

"That has to be it, right?" I asked, looking from the laptop screen to Dean, hopeful.

"It might be," Dean seemed to fight to not look me in the eye. "we'll have to go check it out."

"We?" I asked, standing upright from bending over beside Bobby. "You guys want to help?"

Dean's eyes got wide and confused, "Why wouldn't we?"

"You can't take on an entire wolf pack on your own - let alone a ware pack." Sam chimed in, grinning up at me.

Nick glared, silently as he placed the book I had passed to him back on the shelf that stood behind him.

I grinned at Dean, who mirrored me and the silence hung between us for a few moments, before I was - physically - jerked out of it by Nick taking my hand and leading me out of the room and up the stairs into the room we had stayed in the night before.

"What the fuck is going on?" asked Nick, slamming the door behind me.

"What?" I gasped, realizing I had never seen him like this before. "What's wrong?"

"What's wrong?" He repeated, glaring around the room almost looking for something to take out his anger on. "What is going on between you and Dean?"

I wrinkled my eyebrows and felt a wave of guilt come over me.

"What do you mean?" I asked, turning from him to face the bed. "Nothing's happened -"

"- yet," Nick called out, approaching me. "Now you're talking about going off and hanging out with them, alone?"

"Alone?" I turned to realize how close he was. "I never said I was going alone, I thought you'd come with me."

"Doesn't seem like there's room for me." He glared down at me now, as a hot wave shot through my being, taking in his tense stature and those jealous eyes. "It seems like I'm just a side character while this other love story starts between you and Dean."

"Love?" I choked, attempting to stay focused on our conversation and not the fact that this was the hottest I had ever been for this man. "Who said anything about love?"

"We did, the other night." Nick pushed, stepping closer to me now. We were now so close, that I could feel his breath on me.  "We did a lot the other night," His hungrily flashed over me.

"Nick," I exhaled, for what felt like the first time in the ten minutes we had been in the room. We hadn't even done anything and I was out of breath just by his stature. "are you worried about Dean and I?"

"Yes." He stated, bluntly as I finally sat down on the bed, which he left me no room to do much else. "He's a good-looking guy -"

"- Um -" I started, but he continued.

"- in the most respectful way." He clarified, earning a giggle from me. "I know I'm not a Hunter, and I know he is -"

I wrinkled my brow as he continued.

"- I just don't want you to forget about me," Nick admitted, taking my chin in his finger, causing my eyes to drop to the zipper on his jeans. Only to pull myself out of that temptation for him to grin at my thirsty action.

"I won't," I smirked, rising off the bed and wrapping my arms around his neck. "How I could I?" I winked, pulling on his wifebeater and forcing a hot hard kiss.

Nick pulled away, in mid-kiss, which caught me off guard.

"I don't want you to be alone with him." Nick almost, ordered.

"Excuse me?" I giggled, thinking he was kidding, but the seriousness that seemed to be etched into his face made me lose my grin. "What the hell?"

"I don't  trust him." He crossed his arms.

"Don't trust him, or me?" I started, but we both fell quiet at the knock on the door. My heart dropped as Dean's head appeared around the door only to earn a death glare from Nick.

"Uh, Hi..." He grinned, glancing at Nick - appearing to fully know what was going on - as he stepped into the room for a second. "...Sam and I are about to head to gas up Baby -"

"- Baby?" I questioned, grinning in confusion.

"The Impala." Dean fought a grin as he glanced back over at a steaming Nick. "It won't take long, are we going to do this tonight or what?"

"No."

"Yes."

Nick and I spoke in unison, and Dean looked between the two of us and wrinkled his brow.

"Is there an issue here?" He asked, gluing his eyes to Nick's stature and then glancing at my demeanor. "Everything okay?"

"Yes." I stated, stepping in between Dean and Nick, before anything could happen, "We'll meet you guys out front in two minutes."

"Okay." Dean nodded, glaring over my shoulder at Nick. "Do we have a problem?"

"Actually -" started Nick, as I tried to back into him, but he gently removed me from in between the two, earning a puzzled look at the sight of his hands on my hips from Dean. "- You seem to need something - and I wanted to clarify..."

Dean sniffed, shifting his weight from one leg to the other as Nick stepped into his face.

"...whatever you're looking for, that something isn't here,"  Nick growled, causing that same hot wave to come over me as the two glared at each other. "So back off."

Dean grinned, glancing between Nick's stern face and my figure standing behind him. Without a word, he moved out of the room and Nick rounded back on me.

"If you go with them, I'm coming with." He stated as if he had made that decision.

"Duh," I smirked, shoving my toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss into my bag. Nick mirrored me as we both, silently, made our way out of the room. "Oh, one more thing," I stated, stopping Nick at the top of the stairs, and making him look up at me with his jaw clenched.

I placed my bag down and took his bag and placed it down before pushing him against the wall and pressing my lips against his.

"That was fucking hot," I whispered in between kisses and moaned into it as I bit his lower lip. "I've never seen you so territorial."

Nick, silently, helped me wrap my legs around his waist, and deepened the kiss, until we both heard the front door shut, causing us both to stop and look over the railing.

Dean glared up before disappearing under the landing.

Nick, smiled. He seemed as if he had won something as he placed me gently back down on the floor. He reached passed me and picked up my bag along with his own.

I took his chin in my finger and kissed him again, only for him to smile into it.

His smile made my knees weak as he led the way down the stairs. He headed out the front door as I branched off and met Bobby in his office, but noticed Dean glaring at me from the Kitchen.

"Are you going to be okay?" asked Bobby, passing me some books.

"Of course, are you sure you don't want to come?" I insisted, looking up from the book.

"There isn't any room for this old man," He smiled, pulling me into a hug. "Call if you need me, and keep those two away from each other."

I grinned at his whispers and hugged him back.

"Of course."

I watched as I walked onto the porch, Sam letting Nick crawl over the front seat into the backseat. I paused when I heard the door shut behind me, and with a tiny grin - I knew it was Dean.

"So, your boyfriend seems to be on edge." Dean's voice was low as he appeared next to me. "Is he always so jumpy?"

"No," I stated, not removing my eyes from the Impala, attempting to remain loyal in my demeanor.

"Um," Dean seemed amused as he turned to face the front door, so his mouth wasn't in sight of the Impala. "I don't like him." I shifted a little at his words as he raised his eyebrows and made eye contact with me before he whispered. "but you..." He ensured I watched as he eyed my entire figure before moving off the porch. "...I'm not scared of him, you shouldn't be either."

I beamed at his words as I made my way slowly to the Impala, and followed Dean to the driver's side of the car he pulled the door open and shoved the front seat forward.

I nodded silently as I mirrored Nick's actions and climbed into the backseat with him.

"Dani," Sam's voice pulled me out of the words Dean planted in my brain. "do you need anything from your car?"

"I don't have anything in there that you guys don't have back there." I pointed at as Dean nodded and Sam pressed his lips together with a nod of his own as they both pulled the doors shut and allowed the Impala to roar to life.
