| Chapter 25: 1 Month. |

"You're up early." yawned Sam, emerging from the hotel as the 6:30AM sun showered him with light.

I looked up from the curb I was sitting on, next to the Impala as I drug a cigarette's ashes across the piece of curb to my right.

"You smoke?" Sam questioned, leaning against the driver's side of the Impala.

"When I'm stressed." I answered, sliding the unfinished portion of the cigarette into my pocket, so I wouldn't drop it on the ground out of habit. "Can I help you?" I squinted up at him through the sunlight.

"I need to talk to you," Sam sighed, moving over to the curb and dropping down next ot me. "I wanted to apologize for the other night."

"The night you almost kissed me?" I clarified, finding myself pulling out another cigarette and offering it to Sam, who just shook his head slightly as we both sat in silence for a moment as I lit my new cancer stick. "What about it?" I finally pushed through the tension.

"I really am sorry about that." Sam lowered his head. "I shouldn't say why I almost -"

"- Why did you have to put it that way?" I asked, blowing smoke into the parking spot next to the Imapla.

"In what way?" asked Sam, looking up from his stare spot on the ground.

"You shouldn't." I mocked, using air quotes.

"Because you're with my Brother." Sam swallowed hard, as I paused after flicking some ashes to the side. I looked over at him and noticed he was holding my gaze again. "It's obviously more serious than I expected."

"Me and Dean, or whatever you're harvesting?" I gestured with my cigarette as I took another hit. "I'm not trying to be mean Sam...but -"

"- You're with him." Sam nodded, rising to his feet. "I know, I get it. I crossed a line and I understand that."

I nodded, watching him turn to face me but taking a few steps back into the empty park spot we were sitting in. The morning sun sparkled into his eyes as I cut my cigarette short and dabbed the ashes out before sliding it in my pocket before standing up to adjust my jacket and pants from sitting for so long.

"You understood that before we started drinking." I pointed out, going to walk past him, but he caught my wrist. "Sam..." I frowned, looking down at his hand touching me.

"...Dani, all I wanted to say was I'm sorry for crossing that line," Sam repeated, as I tilted my head at him and we both looked down at his hand around my wrist. "I also wanted to make something known to you..." He stated, moving closer to me, brushing some hair out of my face - immedately triggering my eyes to go wide. "...It's a line I would've crossed first if I'd saw you first."

I flushed red a little as he held both my face and gaze a little longer, before dropping his hands and stepping back.

I blinked at him and sighed out loud, pulling the cigarette back out and inhale as much as I could after lighting it and returning to the hotel room, where Castiel opened the door for both myself and Sam.

"You're back?" Castiel whispered with a smile at me as he eyed Sam and pushed the door closed. "Dean's still asleep, but I brought coffee from the next door."

"Thank you," I smiled, pulling Castiel into a small hug only to giggle at his reaction.

Castiel blushed a little and looked at Sam, "I like her."

"Don't we all?" muttered Sam, picking up a pillow from the bed he slept in and slammed it across the room to Dean. "Wake up man!"

I shook my head as I moved past Sam with another cup of coffee as Dean bolted upright, glaring directly at Sam as I took a seat on the edge of the bed and passed him a cup of coffee.

"This." Dean stated, looking at the coffee and then me. "This is why I'm with you."

"Coffee?" I winked, giggling as he pulled me in by my jacket and kissed me gently, only to pause and tilted his head at me.

"Do I smell..." He paused, licking his lips too. "...taste cigarettes?"

"Yeah," I sighed, shaking my head and looking away from him. "I smoke when I'm stressed."

Dean frowned at me as he pulled me in again for a peck on the forehead, and he sat down the coffee I gave him and moved into the bathroom.

"Why were you up so early?" Sam asked, taking a coffee from the drink holder as Castiel examined the remaining cup.

"Couldn't sleep." I stated, shortly. I hesitated but seeing Sam's annoyed face, I pushed on. "I kept having the same dream...over and over, and it was me dying."

"Dying?" Castiel echoed from across the room, finally looking up from the, now lidless, coffee cup.  "How?"

"Falling into some big ass void of nothingness in a ravein or something." I elaborated as Castiel frowned at me. "What? What does that mean?"

Castiel remained quiet.

"No, you don't get to be an angel," I started, moving across the room as Sam giggled, amused. "and look at me like that about a dream I had about dying and not say anything -"

"- I can't." Castiel responded simply. "I wish I could...but I can't."

I frowned along with him now, glaring down at my coffee cup and tracing the design on the side of the cup. We all fell silent for a few moments as we heard a tiny ringtone across the room, from Dean's bag - and it didn't take long for Dean to come out and answer it.

"Hey," He answered, picking up the coffee I gave him and began to sip on it. "slow down..." He gestured with the cup as Sam and I rose in unison, concerned. "...I'll be right there." He hung up so casually as he downed the rest of the scolding coffee and began flappin his tongue around in a panic.

Dean did a double take to the room as he slide on a shirt.

"What?" He quesitoned, eyeing all three of us.

"Who was that?" asked Sam, gesturing to the phone he had just put in his back pocket.

Dean flashed his eyes in my direciton as he muttered, "Lisa."

"Lisa?" I echoed, standing up from the table.

"Lisa," He repeated, nodding as he adjusted his collar in the mirror. I eyed his demeanor as he did this. "We gotta move guys, Ben's missing."

My eyes widened as my soul dropped.

Lilith.

WELCOME TO  CICERO, INDIANA

POPULATION: 4,453

I traced the sign as we pulled through the town, swallowing hard and nervously looking up into the front seat to see Dean's 'game face' on and Sam watching the town move past us through his window.

I felt my phone vibrate, causing me to pull it out and it was a text from Sierra:

OK, OMW

I nodded and put it away as we pulled into a driveway and immedately the front door flew open and Lisa came barrelling out of it, colliding with Dean.

Sam glanced at me as he pulled his seat forward for me to climb out, when usually Dean did this. Sam helped Cas out of the car next as I glared over at the couple on the other side of the Imala, and noticed that Dean embraced her back.

"My self-esteem can't handle this." I whispered to Sam, moving away from the Impala.

"Where are you going?" Sam asked, catching Dean's attention.

"Scouting the Perimeter -" I answered looking from Sam to Dean's knowing expression. "- by all means, don't let me interrupt." I smirked disappearing down the sidewalk.

As I did, infact, scout the perimeter, I pulled out the cigarette I didn't finish earlier and lit and managed to get one, single, inhale before it was snatched out of my mouth.

"Those will kill you." smirked Rapheal as he dropped it onto the ground and used his foot to put out the fire on the end of it. "How are you?"

"Why are you here?" I shot back, glaring down at the perfectly good half of a cigarette that now resembled his shoe imprint. "Rude."

"You only smoke when you're stressed, is the dreams...?" He asked, getting slightly distracted by a spider on a passing tree.

"Yes." I glared.

"...and the Lisa girl being all over Dean?" He added, moving along with me as we both started scanning the neighboorhood.

"Yes." I grunted as we took a corner.

"Two very small details to the big picture Dani." Rapheal stated, watching some cars pass.

"Okay?" I questioned, gesturing with my hands for more information. "What does that mean?"

"We told you Lilith had something up her sleeve..." Rapheal reminded me as I stopped short, feeling my heart drop. "...this is what we were trying to say. She's willing to take children, Dani..."

"...do you know where she is?" I asked, confrontationally.

"Unfortunately." Rapheal reluctantly nodded with a deep frown on his lips.

"Is she back at Lisa's, is she gathering a fucking army?" I pushed more aggressively as I started walking fast back the way I came.

"She's...closer than you think." Rapheal frowned as he kept appearing at every other sidwalk square, attempting to keep up. "You should really be wearing that necklace, you still have it right?"

"Yes." I groaned, turning the corner I had already scanned.

"Dani," He called, appearing directly in front of me as I stopped short, only a house down from Lisa's. "Protect yourself."

I blinked at him.

"How is that different from every single day of my life so far?" I shoved past him, storming up to Lisa's house and letting myself in. "Guys, we have a problem!"

"What is it?" Sam asked, appearing in the doorway to my left.

"Lilith." I whispered, looking around. "Where's Dean?"

"In the back with Lisa." Sam pointed, and then caught my arm before I could interrupt whatever was going on. "What's this about Lilith?"

"Rapheal just appeared to me, and -" I started, but Casitel interrupted me.

"- Dani...we got compnay." He called from the living room window, behind Sam. The two of us took places on either side of Castiel as my heart swelled with excitment as my Purple Challenger pulled into the driveway.

"Sierra!" I gasped, bolting to the front door, but stopping short.

"What are you waiting on?" asked Sam, appearing behind me as did Castiel.

"It's not Sierra." I stated, feeling my excitinment deflate.

"What - its your car." Sam stated, pulling the tiny curtains on either side of the front door and peered out.

"I told Sierra where we were," I stated, pulling Sam away from the window. "but I didn't give her Lisa's address."

Sam and I both watched the color drain from our faces as I drew my Glock and nodded for Sam and Castiel to get back as I shoved out the door.

I pointed the Glock directly at my beautiful Plum Crazy Purple Challneger as a familiar figure rose out of the driver's seat.

Lilith.
