❝ to make those rainbows in my mind. when I think of you sometime. and I wanna spend some time with you ❞

pretty romantic ig

the next day, noon,

One of your first dates contained of you and your date and you just kicking it in an empty movie theater, and barely watching the movie the both of you paid good money to see.

Another was just walking down to the park, and sitting on the swing-sets while going on about life and it's 'struggles' as a junior in high-school.

Now you stood in the lobby of the hotel, at 10.52 pm, waiting for Jean Kirstein to arrive.

You had now idea why you were so early, honestly. But it's better than being late, right?

"Hey." You look behind you, the voice knocking at your ears.

Jean walked out of the elevator, dressed in casual yet comfy clothes. Perfect for a day out. He looked great honestly.

"Hey!" You smile, and he walks up to you. He carried a picnic basket in one hand, and he shoved his phone in his back pocket with the other.

"You look, really nice" Jean compliments you.

"Hmm, thank you. you look nice yourself."

He laughs softly, and he begins to walk. You follow.

"I know a spot away from all the people. So we shouldn't be bothered whatsoever." The man informs you, and you just nod.

"My car is out front. It's a place I mapped out a while back. Since we got here, I guess." He smiles softly.

"Oh, so you've been planning this?" You ask him, the two of you making your way out of the hotel.

It was a slightly warm day, with a flowing breeze that cooled the air around you.

"I knew I wanted a date like this some day, but I had never gotten to it." He laughs softly, and you smile at him.

"That's sweet."

"I guess." You nudge him in the shoulder with your knuckles, finally reaching his black Mercedes, parked in the lot side to the place you were staying.

You raise your eyebrows as he voluntarily opens the passenger side door for you.

You sit down in the seat, waiting for Jean to settle down next to you. He places the basket in the back on the ground, so it wouldn't shift or even fall during the ride.

"Ready?"

"Yessir."

The ride to the spot was at least twenty to thirty minutes. You really hadn't paid attention to that though.

He seemed overly-excited, and that's one of the things you loved about him.

You grip the handle, and push open the door with a small amount of strength. There was a huge hill before you, and by the looks of it, you had to climb it to get where you would be settling for the time-being.

"Over here!" He shouts, raising his arm so you could run to the other side of the car.

The dirt and stones under your feet made lots of noise as you made your way over to him.

The wind whipped you and Jean's hair back as he grabbed your hand, and you both smile.

"It's just up here?" You chuckle.

"Kind-of. It's at the top." you shake your head, and he laughs at you again. "Trust me, it's not that bad. The wind might suck up there but we'll live."

But no. It was perfect as you reached the top.

Clouds drifted slowly above you as the male laid down the blanket for you two.

"How romantic." You sigh with a small smile, sitting down, watching Jean put down the basket to the side and sitting down next to you.

You lean forward, opening the basket.

It was cute how he'd set this up, really. You were glad to have kept him close to your for all these years, without fucking something up.

You take off your thin jacket, and reach into the picnic basket, looking over and into it. He had packed plenty of snacks and drinks to last the date.

You quickly pick out something, popping open a bag of chips. He leans over you, reaching in as well and grabbing something after slowly digging around.

And so, you ate. The sounds of the nature around you bringing in ambience of your conversation.

"Beautiful day, huh?" He asks you quite awkwardly.

"it is, isn't it. You picked a good day." You laugh a little bit, smiling at him.

"I hope I did. I wanted it to be perfect for you."

"What if I hadn't turned you down?"

He sends you a fake, offended glare. "Well, I hadn't thought that through.." He sets a pondering look on his face.

You swallow your snack, and drop backwards onto the blanket, your hair hitting the soft grass of the hilltop as you watch Jean swallow as well, only to fall onto his back besides you.

He turns his head, staring at you for a good moment before looking back up into the sky.

He rests his arms behind his head, while you lay your hands on your stomach.

"That cloud kinda looks like a dude." He tells you, pointing a finger to a certain cloud above you.

You squint a bit, seeing she shape. "Oh hey, Yeah. It kinda looks like Connie."

He laughs softly, nodding.

"Mm.. I see it. It has his nose." Smiling, you look at the other clouds.

"That one looks like a swan." You say, pointing to that one as well.

"Over there kinda looks like a fish." Jean tells you, and you take a turn to look for another cloud. There were many more than you had thought.

"That one.. looks like a deer." You fix your eyes on a cloud, spread out and stretched like cotton. He tilts his head to the side.

"That one looks like a dick."

"Jean, oh my god.." You snicker, putting your hands over your mouth as you both break into laughter.

You catch your breath, inhaling deeply as you both look at each other. There was a deadly silence in-between you after that. Apart from the crows and wind.

Jean looks at his phone as it vibrates next to him.

"We've already been here an hour. Damn." He sits up, stretching as he extends a hand to pull you up with him.

You take it, a small sigh leaving your lips as you're lifted up.

Jean hums, and looks at you. "Shall we?"

"Mm, We shall, Mr. Kirstein." You laugh softly, and he holds your hand with a firm grip, guiding you and him both back down to his car.

-

You pull the door shut, and watch as he packs the stuff away before hopping into the seat next to you.

"is there anything you would like before we head back?" He looks at you, raising his eyebrows and leaning his elbow on the arm rest.

"I think we should head back." You smile at him lightly, and he nods.

"Of course."
