Chapter 28

I wake up in a groggy mood... feeling sick as the thought of how horrible of a friend I am washes over me.

I try to ignore the felling and jump into the shower to start off my day and then brush my teeth. I get dressed and walk out of my home, forgetting about breakfast, like how I'd usually do before I started acting happy.

The day around me is gray like how I feel and when I enter school, the halls are crowded and loud. I feel invisible as I sulk to my first class, not bothering to find my friends...not that they care about me anyway.

The bell rings, every student rushes to class.

I sit down, drooping down on my desk. The teacher strides in and the class begins.

I don't listen to a fucking thing, it's like I'm asleep with my eyes open.

I groan as the teacher continues his lecture on shit.

I'm so bored, I wouldn't be surprised if I just floated out the classroom.

The bell rings and the next class begins after the next and the next until lunch starts and I'm found at the lunch table.

"Hey!" Alex smiles, "We were thinking of going outside for lunch today, it's so beautiful today!" She chirps out excitedly, turning around to show the windows behind her and indeed, it's a beautiful day. The school patio on the outside shows the blue sky and sun beaming on the students who are eating outside and laughing. The complete opposite of how the morning was.

I groan,"Of course, it's a beautiful day when I'm not in a good mood," I mumble to myself, and get up. Despite my feelings, I follow Alexandra out to the school patio.

The sun burns my eyes as we enter the warm embrace of the day, sliding the glass doors to be welcomed by this patio.

"Wow, we don't even need a jacket!" Alex exclaims, smiling, taking off her jacket and sitting down next to Tom, already a table ready, Sally is across from the two.

I groan, and walk slowly towards them, my feet dragging me, feeling like my feet are two weights, but I manage to sit down with the rest of the group.

I groan softly as I look back at the sun, squinting as I lay my head onto the round patio table. I sit next to Tom.

"Oh, look, it's Andrew," I hear Sally say, my head immediately jumps up and I'm no longer sulking. I turned my head towards where Sally was looking with eyes wide in alert. "How do I look?" She asks Tom and Alex, brushing her clothes and glancing towards them with a nervous flash of a smile.

I wonder the same thing as I fix my tousled hair a bit and then look back at the group. They don't seem to notice my flustered state.

"Girl, you look great!" Alex chimes.

She does though, her hair reflects with the sun and shines like Barbie's hair does, yet in a natural way. She wears a white tank top, looking like she's at the beach.

Ugh, she's just so annoying.

She's like a model, her skin shining like she just got a tan. I'm kind of surprised Andrew hasn't noticed her yet. I take off my small sweater and try to play the slut she's acting like.

I give her a look, but she isn't looking at me, my slight glare failing.

I feel a burst of confidence as she stands up and walks towards Andrew, her bob haircut bouncing behind her.

I watch with a wary eye, awaiting my time to make my hit.

Andrew leans against the brown juice bar's ledge as Sally walks towards him, confidence flaring around her.

I slide my butt closer to Tom, circling around the bench, scouting closer to the two as my mischief side comes to me.

Tom and Alex look at me, awaiting what I have to say.

"I-I, I don't know but we can't trust Andrew with her ... I mean... look at her, she's so vulnerable," I say, coming up with an excuse, my bitch mode on with my innocent voice pouting. They don't notice my mischievous plan as they watch me in confusion, taking in what I had just said.

"I mean, she probably is vulnerable but she's...you know...strong?" Alex says, not sounding believable as if questioning it herself.

"I should probably go help her, check them out?" I smirk, a fake pout to my lips. I turn away before they can argue. I can tell Alexandra is still taking in what I said, the wheels turning in her head, her lack of a response making it easier to just walk away, but once I begin to walk towards the juice bar, I hear her small call, but I ignore it.

My smirk grows, I'm a true bitch now.

Cue the badass music, definitely time for that and the sun shines above me, pavement underneath me, imagine it's lava underneath me, that would probably be cooler, but wouldn't make sense since I'm actually at school, in the school patio with other round lunch tables and other kids, lost stupid kids, okay, my lava comment was stupid, along with the other students, which kind of makes me feel stupid. Let's focus, forget that. The awesome music playing in my head, I smirk and strode confidently towards the two of them.

I can hear Sally's attempt at flirting as I walk right behind her, scaring her as I say "hello."

I smile, totally a fake one.

"What's going on here?" I tease, my head peaking over Sally's shoulder.

She gives me a small look, but I ignore it as I walk around her to her side, (instead of being behind her).

"Andrew is it?" I ask, my head titled and my finger points at him, "Hmm, I think I've heard of you," I say, wondering, "Hmm," I make that thinking sound, really taunting the two of them.

Andrew chuckles.

"Ya, I think I know you too," he plays along,
"Aren't you ..," he makes the same thinking sound, really playing it, "Nina,...right?"

I smile, it's real though, getting caught in the moment with his smirkish look and his soft smile, I try to hide it though as the plan comes back to me, even though it's all made up.

"Ya, that's me!" I raise my hand for a shake and he shakes it.

Sally looks in disgust as I look back at her, but I'm having too much fun to let it back me down.

"Ya, I'm Sally," she butts in,"I was thinking of getting a strawberry milkshake," she says, pretending as if I'm no longer here.

Her way of getting the guy is to see if they'll pay for the drink or food or whatever it is, that's how she knows they're interested, which is the stupidest thing. I bet it could just be that they wanna get away from her.

I laugh at my thoughts, which interrupts her way to victory.

They both look at me, Sally giving me her questioning look while Andrew looks at me curiously, either way they're both confused, one not bothered and the other silently wanting to throw daggers my way.

"Of course, sorry." I wave them off, them looking back at the cart and I continue laughing, making them zap their attention back towards me, "It's nothing, just thinking, you know," I say, still chuckling slightly, acting like a snob with the wave of my hand and fake laugh.

"What are you doing?" Sally turns fully towards me, glaring with her clenched jaw and eyes wide in question and anger.

"What?" I ask, shrugging with a smile before returning the same glare.

"You-," she stops herself, and turns quickly around, her short hair whipping fast towards me, hitting me across the face. "Sorry, Andrew, where were we? Oh, right, some milkshake, what's your favorite milkshake?" She smiles, twirling her blonde hair as she speaks.

I roll my eyes, this bitch

Andrew smiles, not realizing the mini war going on.

"Well, I like ... Umm, I like strawberry, I guess, but I usually go with mixed berries,"

"Ya, I totally agree," I butt in, "all the berries is better than just one, strawberry is so original,"

Sally turns to face me again, her eyes bulging and her mouth twitching, so close to open wide, I smirk.

"But, I mean, strawberry is good," I reassure them, mocking her by making a perfect smile.

"Ya, I guess I'll just get the usual," he tells the person in the cart.

Andrew receives his mixed berry milkshake.

"Well, bye, nice meeting you, my friends are calling me over." He waves and walks away.

She waits to explode, waiting for Andrew to be out of sight, I can just tell. I'm so close to bursting out laughing, it's just so funny to see her squirm.

Finally, Sally wipes her body towards me, her mouth fully open now, appalled. I just smirk in return.

"What. Is. Wrong. With. You!" she spits out, every syllable spread out perfectly, her eyes wide and lips moving with percussion.

"Well, you know," I copy her high squeak voice," I mean, he's not right for you, you shouldn't go flirting with a player, he's just going to break your heart," I say, speaking in the innocent pout voice I had used with Alex and Tom moments ago. I end my statement with my arms crossed, my eyes wide full of innocence.

"What is wrong with you? I can handle myself, you're not my mom?"

My eyebrows raise.

"Of course, I'm not your mom," I answer, scoffing in reply.

"Well, you're acting like it, since when do you care who I date. You don't care about boys, to be fully honest, I wouldn't be surprised if you turned out lesbian," she fires back, thinking she has full power.

"Well, what if I am a lesbian, wouldn't that mean that I liked you then, that might be why I'm so interested with you're love life, and plus, I found something out about Andrew," I taunt, inching closer with each confession I make, waiting to put my prey asleep with fear.

She inches closer, falling for the trap, but before I can truly start my plan, she turns away, maybe realizing my tactic.

"You're not lesbian, that's disgusting, and why would that make you think I would go out with you." She smirks as she makes up her words as she goes, thinking she's won something with her quick response. I just reply with a laugh, my head leaning back but I quickly end my laugh with a snap, evil with my bored expression seeing right through her.

My head back to where it was before, my eyes hypnotizing her, she seems wary, stepping back, but still awaiting what I have to say.

I'm going to take my time, taking advantage of her attention.

I smirk.

"Andrew,... Is,..."

She leans closer, I can sense the worry in her eyes, and then once she's right up in my face, I give her another smirk and finally say what I wanna say.

"He's dating someone,"

My smirk widens as her eyes grow wider.

"What?" she squeaks.

She stands straight, looking around her surroundings, hoping no one heard her.

When she notices nobody's hurling towards her, she's probably expecting that Andrew's girlfriend was watching and is going to attack, pathetic, she turns back to me.

"You're bluffing!" She declares with a glare.

I shake my head in denial.

She huffs.

"Bitch," she mumbles, but loud enough for me to hear, walking away with a stomp.
