Your heart was swarmed with a thousand of astounding feelings, as you walked into the room and you finally saw him. He was standing with his back against you, clearly not noticing your presence as he was busy brewing his potion. Your mouth was agape, as if you wanted to call out his name, but you were not sure if he was really there with you. Your body froze, unable to move towards him.

"Severus?"

You called out, and the man stopped working, his body stiffened at the sound of your voice. Your heart thud rapidly against your ribcage, saying his name was something that so foreign and yet, by heavens, it felt so right at that moment. He turned around and you gasped when you recognised him. It was him, and it was true.

"Y/N, you're here."

He said in disbelief, dropping things that he held in his hands onto the table, the potion was long forgotten as his dark eyes landed on you. You beamed at him, and walked slowly towards him, afraid if he might push you away. You wanted to run into his arms and beg him to never let you again, but fear was suffocating your mind, not wanting to embarrass yourself in front of Severus.

However, tears of joy welled up in your eyes when Severus took a few long strides towards you, wrapping his strong arms around your small figure. You shut your eyes tightly as you let yourself melted in his arms, knowing that he was holding you protectively, and you were finally home.

"You're here with me, my love."

His voice cracked, he could not help but let a rush of strong emotions washed over him, as he held you in his arms. You chuckled heartily upon hearing his silky voice in your ears, which sent butterflies fluttering in your stomach. You opened your eyes, wanting to see his face, the one that had never left your mind no matter how far you were apart.

"I'm here, Severus. I miss you so much."

You said, caressing his face gently, as happy tears rolled down upon your cheeks. Those feelings that were indescribable turned into something that was so sweet and memorable to you, and you knew you missed him so dearly. You missed Severus with all of your heart because you were madly in love with him, just as much as he was with you.

"It's alright. We're together now."

He assured you, a soft smile was painted on his face, and it was the biggest smile that you had ever seen him wear. Severus left his potion, as he decided to spend his time with you, which he was aware would not be long. But nevertheless, moments with you would be the best moments in his life no matter how small they were.

You listened as he told you about his dreadful days teaching the students, and you knew the man was stressed out with his work. You felt bad for not being there for him, but both of you knew it was not possible for you to stay. Severus only had you, the only person that he was comfortable to share his stories, to let you know about his joy and pain, he was grateful to have you there.

"I'm happy to be here with you, Severus."

You smiled, not knowing how much he was bewitched with your smile, the strength and inspiration that he got just by seeing you smile genuinely at him. He wanted to memorise the way your lips curled into an alluring smile, and the sound of your angelic laughs. Severus was sure if someone tried to break into his mind, the first thing they would discover was his memories of your smile and laughter.

You were always at the front of his mind.

"I hope life is treating you right, my love."

He said, wishing nothing but wonderful things for you. He could remember the last time he saw you, you were crying your eyes out, your gut-wrenching sobs tore and ripped his heart apart and he would remember the pain for the rest of his life. He swore to never let you be alone during those times, knowing that you needed him more than ever when you were down in the drains.

"I'm doing fine. There is a lot of things that I want to tell you, but can you hold me?"

You innocent request was melting his stone cold heart, and he nodded with a smile, a deep chuckle erupted in his chest when you grinned at him.

A sigh of content escaped your lips as you snuggled into his chest, both of you were lying in his bed. The bed which Severus found so spacious without you, and you were lying on your side, the one that Severus had never occupied and left them cold whenever you were gone. He would sleep on his side, waiting for you to come and stay by his side.

"I love you, Severus."

You whispered sweetly, kissing his jaw and moving to plant your lips on his. Severus kissed you back immediately, the feeling was so enthralling and he did not want anything else in his life but you. He wished time could stop as he kissed you, and the world would just disappear as he held you closer, thus he would have so much time to spend with the love of his life, without having to let you go again.

"I love you too."

He murmured against your lips, breathless, as he gazed into your watery eyes. Your lips quivered as you held back your tears, knowing that you had to leave soon, and he was going to be alone again.

"I don't want to go back, Severus."

Your voice was small and fragile, that it pierced through Severus' heart to know that you were dejected, and there was nothing he could do to change it.

"We both know you cannot stay here forever. You'll be missing out your real moments of happiness."

He tried to assure you, running his fingers through your hair in hope to comfort you. Only he knew how much he wanted to stop you from leaving, wanting you to stay by his side forever and his whole life would be devoted just to love you.

"You are my happiness, Severus. I don't want to leave you."

Your voice broke, and it was almost like a whine, shattering the man's heart to hear you in such pain and agony that he could not heal. He brought your hand and placed in on his chest, the feeling of his steady heartbeat was calming you.

"You will never leave me, my love. You'll always be in my heart and I'll always be in yours."

He spoke gently, as if he was afraid that you might break if he raised his voice. You were his little fragile flower, and he would do anything to protect you and comfort you. His life and love were committed to you, and only you.

"Close your eyes, my Y/N. You'll be fine."

You buried your face into his chest and closed your eyes, his scent was sending warmth wrapped around your heart. You knew you would leave him, but the sound of his voice was so hypnotising, and you never wanted to hear the end of it.

"Will we see each other again, Severus?"

"I promise you, we will. Perhaps in a few days or weeks, or years but we will see each other again."

He whispered, his voice slowly lulled you into sleep, as he pulled you closer against his chest, wanting to feel you with him for as long as he could. You smiled when he kissed your head, feeling so loved and adored in his presence.

"What if I forget you?"

You asked, the fear of not being able to remember your man was frightening you. Severus felt his heart was being crushed, as the thought started to cloud his mind, but he quickly shook his head and gave you a smile.

"You always find your way back to me, Y/N."

Severus said, assuring you as well as himself, who needed to keep believing that you would never forget your way back to him.

"I will always be here, missing you and waiting for you."

A sad smile was plastered on his face as the words rolled out of his tongue but it was the bittersweet truth that he had to endure. He could only wait for you, yearning for the day that you would come and see him, hoping that you would always manage to make your way home to him.

"Live your life happily, my love. Please know that you'll always be on my mind and you'll always make me proud."

You nodded weakly, slowly falling asleep in his arms, wanting the reality to take over you completely.

"I love you, my Y/N."

....

Your eyes fluttered open, and you found yourself alone in your bed, with tears dried on your face. You could not even remember when were you crying, but your heart was happy and devastated at the same time, but you could not tell the reasons behind those feelings.

You walked downstairs and saw your housemates who were having breakfast, and they frowned upon seeing your red and swollen eyes. Worry was filled in their eyes as they wondered why did you cry. You knitted your eyebrows together when your friends came to you, concerned for your well-being.

"Were you crying, Y/N?"

One of them asked, walking over to you and squeezed your shoulders comfortingly. Your mind was trying to work out the reasons and you knew it could only be one reason behind your tears.

"I had a really sad dream."

"What was it about?"

At their question, your words came to a halt, and you tilted your head a bit. There was something miraculous deep within your heart, but it was hard to tell. Perhaps it was something useless or ridiculous, you would never know.

Little did you know that it was something salient in your life and your next words would have such an impact not just on your life, but Severus' life as well as he was devoted to wait for you forever. But your mind was fogged and you could not tell what it was, so you shrugged it off, and said:

"I don't even remember anything."
