Cold, distant and cruel— Those words would be engraved in the students' minds every time they saw Professor Snape in Hogwarts. They were never really fond of him, not knowing of how different Severus Snape could be with somebody who deserved his love and affection.

Behind the closed doors, Severus Snape was a whole different person. Once his dark eyes landed on his beautiful wife, his heart melted and he loved her so much that even if she wanted him to fall on his knees, he would obey her in a split second.

He would never dare to break her heart, unable to say no to her especially when she looked up at him with her luminous eyes.

And there he was, sitting in his chair near his  fireplace. His lovely wife was snuggling up in his lap, her head was rested against his chest as she was almost lulled to sleep by Severus' velvety voice that was reading a book to her.

She loved it. She loved when Severus read to her while she listened. While others might find Professor Snape's voice as intimidating, his deep voice had always been her favourite thing in the whole world.

Y/N could not call how many times did his voice comfort her from her cries, pulling her into his arms as if it was the safest place she would ever been. But yes, she was always safe in the arms of Severus Snape. No harm could come to her as long as he was breathing.

She smiled sleepily and curled her hands in fists around Severus' shirt, snuggling closer into his chest if that was possible. His warmth made she breathe in relief, and Severus let a soft smile crack on his lips.

"You must be tired, Y/N."

He stopped reading, and planted a kiss on your head. He shut his book when you did not respond to him, realising that you were almost asleep. He placed it aside and wrapped his strong arms around your small frame, carrying you to your shared bed.

He tucked you in and he chuckled under his breath at how innocent you look when you were asleep. Your hands wandered, as if you were looking for him but your eyes were shut.

Severus quickly got next to you and put his arms around you, assuring you that he was there. His scent comforted you and you sighed in content.

"I love you, darling."

He whispered, and to his surprise, your eyes fluttered open and you smiled.

"I love you too."

Severus' heart blossomed and he pecked your lips softly. He always thought he was lucky to have you loving him. Such a perfect person like you, he could never asked for anything else in this world. As long as he had you, his life was complete. 

"I thought you were asleep."

You chuckled and snuggled into his arms, finally letting the sleep to take over you.

"I can't go to sleep without saying good night to you, Sev. Good night."

You mumbled but Severus was quick to catch your sweet words. At that moment, he knew he was falling in love with you again. In fact, he was falling in love with even harder every day. He wondered how did you manage to do that to him.

"Good night, my love."

He whispered lovingly, kissing your forehead one last time before he fell asleep as well, holding you in his arms.

Both of you could not wait for the morning to come, so that you and him could go on another brand new day together, with love and affection that only shared between you and him. And no one else knew.
