You wrapped your arms around yourself, your scarf around your neck and chest was not enough to shield you from the cold. You tapped your feet, waiting for Severus to arrive. He promised you that he would come, but did he change his mind now?

A smile was cracked on your lips when you saw Fred and George who was approaching you, familiar mischievous grins were plastered on their faces.

"Professor L/N, are you waiting for someone?"

George asked, and you nodded. The Weasley twins always adored you and they were bold to say to other students that they were your favourite students in Hogwarts. You never said anything to correct their statement, considering that it was true. Even if they did not come from your house, you always enjoyed their company.

"I guess you're going to Hogsmeade with Professor Snape."

Fred guessed, a smirk was dancing on his lips. You had to stifle a laugh when he guessed it right.

"How did you know?"

The twins did not even get to answer when you saw a glimpse of your colleague who was approaching you, his usual stern look was on his face. The twins started to leave, knowing that their presence  was not needed now that your companion has arrived.

"Have fun, professors!"

Fred winked, and you rolled your eyes at his words, waving at them as they left. Severus sighed, already missing the comfort of his office as soon as he stepped out of the building. However, his heart was warmed at the sight of you, who was grinning at him with excitement sparkling in your eyes.

"Severus, you're here!"

You ran towards him, throwing yourself in his arms, taking him by surprise with how affectionate you were being with him. He stiffened a bit, but it would be a lie if he say that he did not love being in your embrace. Just as he was about to enjoy being so close to you, you pulled away from him, much to his dismay but he did not let it show on his face.

"Of course, I'm here. I promised you, didn't I?"

He cocked his eyebrow, and you just smiled at him, nodding vigorously.

"I thought you changed your mind."

You said, making him realise that he was late. You were waiting for him in the snow, and you thought that he was changing his mind. Severus could not deny your words because a few moments ago, he was contemplating whether he should go or not. And now he felt bad because you waited for him, with the thoughts of he might not come to see you.

"Let's go, Severus!"

As the guilt was starting to wrap around his heart, it all melted into a puddle of joy when your giddiness to spend your day with him resurfaced. You started to walk with him, and his breath hitched when you took his hand, smiling at how small your hand was compared to his.

"Are you alright?"

You looked up at him, realising that he was staring at you and your intertwined hands. You were expecting him to pull his hand away from yours, and scoff at you but he did not do any of that. He just nodded, without giving you a snarky remark or a dry joke like usual. You shrugged it off, and continued to walk side by side with him, happy that you were holding his hand.

Severus was hoping that you were oblivious to the slight blush on his face, and he was grateful that you did not mention it. A kaleidoscope of feelings was battling in his mind, as he noticed that you were holding hands with him. It made him feel like a lovesick teenager, and he hated it. Well, he wanted to hate it but now he could not. He never wanted to let go of your hand, loving how it fit perfectly in his bigger one.

"I think we should go to Honeydukes. What do you say?"

You were bouncing on your feet in excitement, and Severus did not manage to utter a word to you. He just nodded, losing himself in your eyes as you gazed at him. You chuckled heartily, glad to know that he agreed with you. Severus did not know what happen or what to do, his mind was busy thinking of a plethora of ways that could make him fall for you even harder than he already was.

Both of you walked out of Honeydukes, with a bag of candies in your arms, a broad smile was emblazoned on your face. Severus could not help but adored your beautiful features as you looked at him, and he just nodded at whatever you were saying, letting you drag him to other shops in Hogsmeade without any questions.

You went to several shops with him, and you noticed that he did not talk much, not even to sass you or anything. It was odd, and you felt like something was off with him. Shaking the thoughts away from your mind, you continued to walk with him, telling him stories about everything to get rid of the silence.

Your hand was clasped with his, and when you bumped into some students, you were worried that Severus might hate for the students to see how close you were with him. However, he just held your hand casually, it was as if he did not even see his students who walked pass both of you.

"This candy is the best."

You said, putting another one in your mouth and you began to realise that Severus was not even listening to you the whole time. You frowned, your smile slowly disappeared as you thought that he was bored with you. Perhaps he was thinking about how wonderful it was if he just stayed in the castle instead of walking with you. Your smile dropped, and it did not go unnoticed by the Potions Master who was gazing at you.

Severus was hypnotised by the smile on your face, seeing how genuine and how beautiful you were that he did not even mind about anything else. It was hard to spend his time with you alone back in the castle, thus he treasured this moment the most. But his heart was wrecked when a frown replaced your smile, and he noticed that you were sad.

"Y/N, what's wrong?"

He asked, wanting to make you smile again. He did not know if you were frowning because of him, and if that was the case, he would do anything to chase away your devastation and replace it with happiness again.

"I didn't mean to make you bored with me, Severus."

You pulled your hand away from his grasp, fiddling with your fingers nervously. Severus almost winced when his hand was missing yours, a sigh escaped his lips, which you quickly thought that he was annoyed with you.

"What do you mean?"

"I didn't mean to force you to come with me. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm forcing you to go out today and perhaps I was talking too much. I can see that you're bored with me."

He swallowed your words, and his eyes grew wide when he realised that he has not been responding to you, as you were talking to him. He was enchanted by your voice and your smile, everything about you, that he did not even notice that it seemed like he was ignoring you.

"No, Y/N, it's not like that at all. I wasn't ignoring you because I was bored. I was just..."

He could not find the right word to tell you how in love he was with you that everything you did was making him go crazy. He could hear the beating of his heart against his chest as you did not say anything, waiting for his next word.

"I love you."

He breathed out, and he cringed, realising how sudden it was. Your gleaming eyes were looking at him like he just said something insane, and Severus understood how strange it was for him to say something like that to you. But it was the truth.

He thought he was infatuated with you since you were always tagging along with him, looking out for him and making sure that he was fine but then he realised it was more than infatuation. He let you made your way into his heart, and he admitted that he was in love with you. So madly, helplessly in love with you.

"You love me?"

Your voice was small and unsure, that it tugged on the strings of his heart. He nodded weakly, did not know what reaction he would get from you, the love of his life. He was expecting you to laugh at him and leave him in the snow, but you did not.

A smile grew on your face, easing his heart as he knew you were overjoyed with his confession. A chuckle erupted in your chest and you stood on your tiptoes, kissing the corner of his lips.

"I love you too!"

You squealed, and your priceless response was swarming his cold heart with warmth, melting it with your love and affection. He did not wait any second to kiss you, pulling you closer against him by your waist, as you snaked your arms around his neck. Perhaps his mind was clouded by ecstasy when he kissed you, that he did not even care about people who could see you and him kissing, not even the students.

"So are we on a date?"

You asked excitedly, innocence and zest were swimming in your eyes as you looked up at him. Severus smiled, a genuine smile, which was only for you. He kissed your forehead softly and nodded, holding your hand in his, and resumed to admire you as you and him enjoyed your date together.

It was not until later that he realised that news spread so fast in Hogwarts that Professor Snape was dating the young professor, you, who were a walking ray of sunshine for everyone in the castle. The news did not bug you and Severus a bit, but the Weasley twins surely made some money from the bet that they did with the other students, having confidence that you and Severus would end up together.

They were right.
