It had been a few months since Severus went on a date with you, and luckily it did not stop there. Both of you went on many wonderful dates after that, whether it was in a cozy coffee shop that you loved so much, or even just in the comfort of his home. It did not take him long to ask you to be his lover. He slowly realised that he was falling in love, looking forward to every weekend, his heart was yearning to see you and hold you in his arms.

His days were easier to tolerate now that he was anticipating to get through them, just to see you again during his weekends. His colleagues noticed his change of demeanours, and he rarely gave detention to his foolish students, creating many questions in their minds as why Professor Snape looked so content these days.

At first, it was frightening the students with how forgiving he was with them whenever they made small mistakes, shrugging them off without deducting their house points. But they were glad, and they were really curious to know the reason behind the Potions Master's happiness.

He would be much happier during a particular day when you would send him a letter, and at that moment, his colleagues would be blessed to see his genuine smile. They were expecting him to smile like usual, as the owl dropped the letter into his hands, but to their surprise, a devastated sigh escaped the professor's lips as he read your letter.

"What's wrong, Severus?"

Minerva came to ask, upon seeing a frown on the younger professor's face. He never told her about his relationship with you, but only blind people could not tell how smitten he was with you every time you came to see him.

"It's nothing."

He muttered, standing up from his chair and leaving the room. His intimidating long strides brought him back to his room, slamming the door behind him as he looked back at your letter.

"Dear Severus,

I hope you are doing well, love. Please do not skip your meals and remember to take care of yourself for me. I know this week is a hectic week for you and it is for me as well.

I have to tell you that I cannot come to see you this weekend and I'm afraid you cannot come to see me either. I have to finish my work without any distraction if that is possible. I'm really sorry. I promise I will make it up to you soon.

Love,
Y/N."

Severus read it again and again, making sure that he did not miss any word, telling him that you were not coming to see him and he was not allowed to see you. He plopped down on the couch, tearing his gaze away from your letter that was always brought him joy but now he was sad looking at it.

"Stop being dramatic, Severus Snape. It's just a week."

He scoffed, silently judging himself who was being overly dramatic about it. It was not like he could not see you for a month or a year. It would only be for a week.

He would survive without seeing you, wouldn't he?

"A long week without my Y/N."

He mumbled under his breath, thinking of how dull his weekend would be without your presence, and now he had nothing to look forward to. He was back to his regular days, without the excitement of wanting to see you when the week has ended.

"A sad and long week without my sweet angel."

He chuckled half-heartedly, remembering how flustered you were when he called you with that nickname for the first time. His shoulders slumped and he felt as if his energy was drained, a frown never left his face as he stared at your beautiful handwriting on the letter. He really missed you.

Severus decided not to go to the Great Hall for dinner, knowing that Minerva would pester him about the letter, wanting to know the reason behind his disappointment. Severus stayed in his bed, and just as he was about to reach for your book, wanting to read it for God knows how many times already, there was a knock on his door.

He gritted his teeth, annoyance was filled in his eyes as he stared at the door. He never thought that there would be someone who dared to come to his bedroom at this hour, disturbing his moments alone. He was ready to scold whoever that was on his door, when all he wanted to do was sulk in his room, sad over the fact that he could not see you.

He stood up from his bed and raised his eyebrows when his door was cracked open, revealing his smiling lover, who looked as beautiful as ever. A wave of felicity washed over him as soon as his eyes landed on you, bringing a smile on his face.

"Hi, Sevy!"

You shut the door behind you and ran towards him, throwing yourself into his arms as he spun you around instinctively, missing you like crazy. You grinned when he put you down on your feet, and you planted a kiss on his cheek, leaving butterflies fluttering in his stomach.

"You didn't really think that I wouldn't come, did you?"

You chuckled, and Severus did not wait any second to kiss you on the lips, pulling you against his chest by wrapping his arms around your waist. You were shocked with how affectionate he was, considering that it was always you who kissed him first. You grinned when he pulled away, realising that he was really dejected when you said you were not coming.

"You're mean, Y/N. You broke my heart."

He mumbled, caressing your face in his hands. You leaned against his loving touch, your heart was swelled as you thought how in love you were with him.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to break your heart, my love."

You apologised, a guilty smile was painted on your face. Severus rolled his eyes dramatically, and you laughed, burying your face into his chest. A sigh escaped your lips, loving how comfortable you were to be in his arms.

"I don't know if you know this already, but I love you."

You whispered, pulling away from him, just so you could look up at him. Severus' heart was swarmed with happiness that it could explode from how overjoyed and fortunate he was feeling to be holding you.

"I love you too, my sweet angel."

He said, poking your nose playfully. A smirk was dancing on his lips when he saw you tried to hide your face against his chest, knowing that his sweet words always managed to get you weak on your knees.

"I hate it when you called me that."

"You say you hate it but your face is telling me otherwise."

He put his finger under chin, forcing your eyes to meet his, and you could no longer hide your smile. You stood on your tiptoes and pecked his lips softly, melting his heart into a pool of giddiness as he looked into your gleaming eyes.

"Can I stay here tonight?"

You asked, already knowing his answer, but you just felt like you needed to ask. Severus nodded, adoring it when you stayed at his place whenever you came earlier before the weekend. He loved to wake up by your side, seeing you first before anything else to start his day. Suddenly he threw you over his shoulder, making you squealed in surprise.

"Where are you taking me, Sevy?"

"Bed."

"I want to have some cookies and tea first!"

You laughed, making Severus rolled his eyes playfully, putting you down on his bed that seemed way too big for him when he did not have you by his side.

"You're insufferable, Y/N."

"But you still love me."

"That's true. I love you."

The morning came way too quick for his liking, not wanting to get out of his bed now that he had you with him. Thus, he stayed asleep, hoping to spend more time with you instead of teaching his students. Your eyes fluttered open, a smile found its way on your face as you admired your handsome lover who was still sleeping.

Your body was facing him as he had his strong arms wrapped around you protectively, so you could see his face clearly. He looked so peaceful and calm, and your heart was aching when you thought that once he went to face the students, his calm demeanours would disappear within a second. He must had been so stressed out with everything.

You brushed a few strands of his hair from his face, kissing his forehead softly then moving your lips to kiss his nose. You traced your fingers down his chest, smiling as you thought of how beautiful he was in your eyes. You chewed on your bottom lip when his eyes flickered open, and he pulled you closer to him if that was possible.

"What are you doing, love?"

He asked, and you shivered at his morning voice, failing to stifle your giggle.

"I'm just thinking of how lucky I am to have you."

You said, running your delicate fingers through his hair. Severus' heart was flooded with love, as he saw the look in your eyes, and realised how in love you were with him.

"No, I'm lucky to have you."

"If you say so, my love."

You mumbled, snuggling closer into his chest, inhaling his scent which was your favourite in the whole world. Severus kissed your head, knowing that he had to leave you for his classes.

"If I could stay here with you forever, I would."

You smiled at his words, kissing his neck and his jaw, earning a deep chuckle from him.

"This love between us. It is the most beautiful thing I have ever felt."

He added, and happy tears welled up in your eyes, love and affection were swarming your heart with no mercy as you swallowed his sweet words. You pressed your lips with his, your heart decided to skip a beat as heat rose from your stomach to your chest. Severus kissed you back immediately, claiming your lips with so much passion and intensity that the taste of him nearly silenced everything around you. You could feel his power over you as he wrapped his arms around you, kissing you harder and deeper, that you were hypnotised with how amazing it felt to be with him.

"You are the first thing on my mind, the last thought before I sleep and my greatest love."

He muttered against your lips, and you beamed at him, before pulling him in for another kiss, forgetting the rest of the world as if it was only you and him that mattered at the moment.

Needless to say, Professor Snape was late to teach his classes that day.
