This is kind of corny but stay with me. ps, young vernon has my heart

Vernon had rich parents. They loved him, but don't get me wrong, they couldn't pay attention to him that much. Again, doesn't mean they didn't love him. Whenever they could they took him on big vacations to make up for the little time they could spend together. There was this one particular vacation, the one he remembered the most. Was the vacation where he met the future love of his life. I mean he didn't know that at first 😹 but who can predict fate?

This particular memory took action during his trip to Jeju Island. Vernon had just graduated middle school and his parents wanted to celebrate it and have a get together with their best friends. This was his first time going to Jeju because his parents had just bought a house there. The place was very homey and the house sat at the end of a lively neighbourhood. They also picked this particular house because they had friends living there. Vernon's parents wanted to introduce him to their friends' kids. Who knows, maybe they'd get along?

They had just arrived at the holiday house and settled in. "Bonon-ah!" "Yes dad?" Vernon answered his dad –Seokmin–. "Can you get ready? We're gonna meet some of our old friends!" Vernon groaned, "But i'm so tireddd" Vernon heard footsteps to his room and it was his papa. "Come on Nonie, we're gonna have a barbeque! Do you want me to pick your clothes?" His papa –Joshua– said while walking over to his luggage. "If you told me there was gonna be food i would've said yes from the start, also i'm okay i can pick something out" Joshua chuckles, "of course there's always gonna be food. Also our friends have sons you can play with!" Joshua said happily while skipping out of his son's room.

He had finished getting ready and he got out of the house where his parents were waiting for him with bikes. "We have bikes in this house?" Vernon said, grabbing the smaller green bike. "We're going to be here more often so yeah, now come on! They're waiting for us and the house isn't far!" Joshua said enthusiastically while racing off, "Shushu wait for me and Bonon!!" Seokmin wailed to Joshua while ushering Vernon to start pedalling. Vernon facepalmed at the sight. He wondered how his parents had such a healthy marriage after being married for 15 years. They even act like they're still on their honeymoon. ' i hope my future relationship will be this healthy. ' He thought.

They cycled for around 10 minutes before arriving at where he'd be meeting his parent's high school friends. The house was a pretty beach house covered in lights. It also had a front lawn decorated with all sorts of flowers –mostly tulips– and plants. In the front lawn were his parents' high school friends waiting for them with two boys behind them. "Shua! Seoks! It's so great to see you!" The long haired man ran up to Joshua and engulfed him in a bear hug, "and is this Vernon? Last time I saw you was when you started elementary! You're so tall now!" He squished Vernon's cheeks so hard that Vernon felt like he was being crushed. "Hey Cheol! How's the movie going?" Seokmin walked over to the other man and did a hand shake with him. Vernon was confused, He met them before?

"Vernon, meet your Uncle Jeonghan and Seungcheol. You remember them right?" Did I mention that Vernon has met them all but has bad memory? Joshua introduced the pair, ' ohhh so that's who they are. I remember them now, but who were the boys behind uncle Seungcheol?'

"and behind Cheol is Seungkwan and Chan, if you don't remember Seungkwan is actually older than you by a month! You guys should all play together like how you used to!" Joshua pushed Vernon over to the boys and Seungcheol also nudged them to shake hands with him. "Aww that's so cute! Now come on, the others also decided to visit!" Jeonghan grabbed Joshua's hand and ran inside, "Them as a pair is dangerous because of how energetic they are." Seokmin sighed and said to Seungcheol.

Inside the house were a few more kids and couples. ' great, more unrecognisable faces. ' Vernon thought. He really didn't want to socialise but oh well. "Kwannie dear, can you reintroduce Jun and Hao to Vernon?" Jeonghan said to his oldest son and he nodded. Seungkwan grabbed Vernon's hand but not without hesitating. Seungkwan blushed when grabbing his hand but only Chan noticed. They led Vernon to the other side of the room where the other two were. "Uh.. uhm so-" "So Vernon hyung this Minghao and Junhui hyung!! I hope you can remember them now" Chan introduced them to Vernon since he noticed Seungkwan was having trouble. "Vernon! You look so different now" Jun said, "Yeah thanks man"

They took some time to get to know eachother again and Seungkwan wasn't as shy as he thought. Both of them being extroverts, it's evident at first glance. The kids talked, sang and danced a lot. Vernon even found out he was good at rapping. "The more you know!" Chan said and everyone deadpanned.

The rest of the vacation was like any other. Visiting tourist spots, eating out with friends and going to their house again. Surprisingly, Vernon felt sad to leave a place for once.
