Louise didn't see Logan the next day, her second day of her senior year. She had her even numbered classes that day, and she had him on the odd number days. She didn't see him again until Wednesday, where the girls would have all their classes for one hour, rather than half their classes for two hours. On Wednesdays was when they got out early from their classes, but Louise thought it didn't matter much because they couldn't leave school grounds anyway. It was just more time to sit in her dorm and bore herself slowly into madness.

Since she wanted to mess with St. Mary's Academy's newest teacher, Louise walked with her pink hat crumpled up in her hand and she placed it atop her head the moment that she entered the class room. She wouldn't wear it out in the hallway because if one of the nuns saw her wearing it, she would never see it again. Logan hadn't noticed her wearing it as she walked past, he was too busy handwriting something onto the white board which was facing the students. As Louise took her seat, she saw it was a warm up activity where the girls had to write about something they had done over the summer that had to do with the sciences.

The seventeen year old with jet black hair knew just what she would write about. Over the summer she worked at her parents' restaurant and often didn't have a lot to do. Her siblings were off at their respective universities and Louise needed to find a way to keep herself entertained. She found her distraction in the form of an experiment she conducted on her father. Without him knowing, she would shift things in the restaurant and the house slightly. Then she would wait and see if her dad would notice it. It had taken a full month before Bob Belcher noticed Louise was messing with his things. He would blame Lin, his wife, at first. When he realized it was Louise the entire time, he was fuming and yelling like only he would do. But that did nothing to worry Louise. She knew Bob was a very forgiving father who would understand that she was only making some fun for herself.

She had that to write about, or the time when Andy and Ollie Pesto claimed that the could feel what the other was feeling. They had even allowed Louise to confirm it for herself. She would have Ollie in a room by himself, with a camara rolling to film his reactions. Then she would have someone in a room with Andy and a camera there as well. The person would then be instructed to hit Andy, and she would then confirm if Ollie had felt it as well.

Results were surprisingly positive in the twins' favor.

As the bell rang, announcing that classes were starting for the day, Logan turned to the group of girls who were seemingly eager to learn about science. But in reality, they were all more interested in eyeing the new teacher.

He had grabbed the attendance sheet off his desk and looked up before starting to call out the names. In the back of the classroom, something pink caught his eye. It was the bunny ears hat Louise always used to wear when she was a child. "Uh...Louise-" He started, but then quickly corrected himself when he realized the familiarity with which he spoke to her. He wasn't sure if she had told anyone that they already knew each other, but he didn't want the other students to think he was already playing favorites by knowing her name. "Miss Belcher, wearing hats in class is against school rules. Please take it off and put it away." This sounding professional thing was much more difficult than he thought when talking to someone like Louise.

Louise ignored him and turned in her chair to talk to Annie, but the twin was quiet. She couldn't believe her friend was defying a teacher like that.

"I asked you to take off that hat." He repeated, but to no avail.

When she continued to ignore him, and wouldn't put the hat away, he strode over to her desk, passing several girls who turned their heads and watched him. All the other girls in the room watched with curious eyes wondering what he was capable of doing to enforce the rules in his classroom. Just like when they were younger, he grabbed the fluffy pink ears between one hand and yanked them right off her head, leaving her ebony hair exposed.

Both Annie and Aimee let out gasps of surprise. They had never seen anyone take Louise's favorite pink bunny eared hat like that. Most of the other girls at the school were either afraid of her, or didn't like her because she didn't have money. But they knew that no one would have dared to take her hat like Professor Bush had.

Through teeth gritted together in annoyance, she said to him, "I want my hat back."

She had been just as surprised as her friends that he had taken her hat away. She thought he would have sent her to the principal's office and then she would have not gone, spending the rest of the period wandering the halls of the prestigious school.

"You can have it back after class." He informed her simply. "Next time you refuse to follow the rules by wearing a hat to class, I'll take it away and keep it until after school."

Louise folder her arms over her chest and shrunk into her chair, annoyed at what had happened.

The one hour of class seemed longer than she would have hoped for. Logan tried to explain the chemical compositions of a couple of elements while Louise shot him glares each time his blue eyes would connect with her green ones. She was brooding with anger at him, and that made him feel rather satisfied with himself. He had won and she had lost, and Louise knew it. She thought she could get away with wearing a hat to class just because they knew each other, but he wasn't going to let that happen. All his students were going to follow the rules. He couldn't let the other girls in the class think they could push them around so easily, and that meant drawing the line with Louise Belcher.

The last thing he wanted was to lose his job. Then he would have to go back home, where his parents would nag him for not having done enough at the university, or for not having wanted to become a doctor like his dad.

When the final bell rang, Louise waited in her seat until everyone else piled out of the room before she got back on her feet and gathered her belongings into her backpack. With the intention of striking a conversation with Logan, Aimee offered her friend with a sly smile, "Want me to stay behind with you?" If Louise hadn't known that her friend was into Logan, she would have thought Aimee's offering was that of a genuine friend. But she knew better than to believe her. Aimee just wanted an excuse to get close to Logan.

Louise said nothing, gave a small roll of her eyes and walked to his desk. Her two friends followed close behind her like little puppies.

With three girls standing in front of his desk, one of them smiling wide at him, Logan heaved a sigh, "Girls," He told Annie and Aimee. The twins both had friendly smiles on their faces while Louise looked like she wanted to get out of there as soon as possible, and just maybe punch him in the gut as well. "I think its nice that you and Louise are such good friends. But I need to have a word with her, alone."

He was going to keep Louise behind as long as he could.

Aimee's smile dropped and octave. She signaled for her sister to follow her and they both left the classroom, the door shutting behind them.

Louise tapped her foot on the ground impatiently, waiting for him to give her the hat so that she could get out of there. She soon found out that it wouldn't be so easy. She had disrupted his class time, he was going to disrupt her passing period time. On short days, they had five minutes to get to their next class and most of her teachers were strict at St. Mary's Academy when it came to their students arriving (or not arriving) on time. Arriving late to class could get her a detention after school.

"You're just as defiant as you were when you were nine." He commented in a casual tone, sifting through some of his lesson notes from that day.

Crossing her arms over her chest, she retorted, "And you're as insufferable as when you were seventeen, Logan."

"You're more insufferable." He argued with her.

"Are you ever gonna return my hat?" She asked him in a sharp tone, her words laced with annoyance. "I have other classes to get to, in case you forgot."

Logan sighed, uncaring. She had yet to realize that he was trying to make her late to her next class on purpose. With the movements of about a tortoise, he reached for the top drawer on his desk and pulled it open. Her pink hat was revealed to be there and he grabbed it, shoving it into her waiting hands.

"If you wear that in my class again, I'm going to take it and keep it for a whole day." He warned.

Louise rolled her eyes at her new teacher. "You would. I know how much you loved my hat."

She remembered when he had stolen her bunny ears hat as a seventeen year old. Logan had worn it to school and became quite popular with the other girls in his year because of it. He had liked wearing it so much that he pretended he had thrown it out in the dump so that Louise would stop harassing him for it.

The seventeen year old with jet black hair stuffed the pink hat into her school cardigan pocket and took off to her next class without another word to him.

Most of the time, she felt like she just wanted to punch him in the gut.
