S. Coups (Pt. 2)

(Y/n) heard the door close. She sat up from the couch and watched as Seungcheol walked towards Jeonghan. He whispered something to him before walking up to (y/n).

"Let's go", he said.

"Where?", she asked.

"For once, can you follow orders instead of asking questions. Let's go", he said once more.

She stood up from the couch and walked out the front door with Seungcheol following behind. He put her in his car and drove off far away.

"Where are you taking me?", she asked.

He didn't answer.

Of course he wouldn't. She rolled her eyes and leaned her head against the window.

"You're gonna be staying with me until I fix this. You won't be able to leave because your life is in danger. This man won't stop until he gets his hands on you and I don't wanna be responsible for that. Because of your stupidity, I have to stay out of sight as well", he said.

"I'm not stupi-"

"Just stop talking. I don't wanna hear your voice", he said.

"What the hell is wrong with you? Have you not ever talked to a human being before or ever considered their feelings?? Is your ego so big that all you worry about is how you look or how your stupid business is running? You don't know me, okay? You don't know how serious I am when it comes to work. I don't fool around. I don't waste time. Stop judging me and insulting me because it's just making you look and sound like an asshole. And I'm not stupid", she said before facing forward.

Seungcheol glanced at her quickly, noticing tears in her eyes. He cleared his throat and continued driving.

When they arrived at his place, she quickly got out of the car and widened her eyes when she saw the house. It was huge. But she tried not to look so impressed.

"Follow me", he said, glancing back at her.

She rolled her eyes and followed him into the house. She stepped in, mouth gaping open as the inside looks way bigger and more beautiful. It's as if the Greek times were taking over.

"You'll be staying in one of the guest rooms. You're not allowed to step out of this house. Understand?", he said, tone in his voice changing.

She shrugged her shoulders, admiring the painting that's hung on the wall.

"If you need anything, let me know", he said before stepping asked.

"Doubt it", she mumbled quietly.

He stopped his tracks, looking over his shoulder to see her taking off her shoes. He tried not to embarrass her any further than he already has so he continued walking.

~~~
"I'm so bored", she groaned loudly as she dropped her body on the bed.
The guest bedroom appointed to her is what's making her feel better. It isn't home but it's comfy and welcoming and very spacious.
The room's very quiet. It made her realize it might be more than a while until she gets back home. What if she doesn't? What if the man that's looking for her ends up-
"Hey."
(Y/n) sat up and noticed Seungcheol near the doorway.
"Dinner is ready", he said.
"I'm not hungry", she said.
"I already made the food", he said.
"I said I don't want to eat. Jeez, just get out!", annoyed, she stood up and pushed him out of the room, slamming the door right after.
Seungcheol turning his hands into fists, trying to calm himself down. Now that he thinks about it, he probably deserves it. Taking a deep breath, he turned away into the dark halls that were covered with pictures and paintings that doesn't seem important to him.
(Y/n) rested her forehead against the door, tears streaming down her face and landing on her white shirt. Her hand were shaking and her heart was hurting. If pounding her head repeatedly against the door will help with the shitty situation she's in, she'd do it. But like she said...she's not stupid.
~~~

Two weeks pass. She wakes up everyday feeling the same. Useless. She avoids Seungcheol and even insults him to get him away but he doesn't stop. 'You need anything?' Or 'if you want to work on something, I have some projects for you.'

She hates him so much.

Food sounded so good. She's in the mood for chicken stir fry so she went down to the kitchen and looked inside the fridge. Luckily she found all the ingredients. As she prepared everything, Seungcheol came in, eyebrows raised.

"You know there's a lot of leftovers from yesterday", he said.

She didn't answer. Placing the pan on the stove, she began cooking.

"How much longer is this gonna go on? This silent treatment. I know you wanna say something to me", he said, leaning against the counter.

The little voice in her head was yelling 'ASSHOLE' the entire time. Scoffing as she heard him chuckle, she reached over to grab the wooden spoon but Seungcheol grabbed her wrist. He turned her around, soft smirk on his face.

"You really are an asshole", she said.

Raising his brow, he backed her up until there was no more space. He placed both of his hands on the counter, trapping her.

"What did you call me?", his voice was so deep and low, it caused goosebumps to form.

He leaned closer to her, noses touching but making sure there was still space in between them. She gasped, feeling her heart skip a beat.

Then her attention turned towards the chicken stir fry which was starting to burn. She pushed him away and took the pan off of the stove, cursing.

"Great. Now I'm not in the mood to eat. This is your fault. You're cleaning this mess up", she said.

"Me? I'm not the one who was cooking", he said.

"But you distracted me! So this is your fault. You clean", she muttered clearly before leaving up to the guest room.

Seungcheol heard the door slam, trying not to smile.

"Just too easy", he said as he put the dishes in the sink.

(Y/n) was leaning against the door, hand on her chest as she couldn't breathe.

"Damn, just stop it!", she said to herself.

It took a few minutes for her heart to calm down. She wishes she can just jump out the window. Maybe being inside is making her crazy. Going outside for a bit won't hurt. Anyways, he can't stop her.

She checked her surroundings. Seungcheol was still washing dishes. She was careful enough to be able to go into the backyard.

"Oh my g- finally some fresh air", she sighed in relief, feeling the wind against her skin.

She roamed around, admiring the tall green grass acres from there. Plenty of space, hardly any trees, and there were no other building that covered up the clear sky. She wanted to hop over the fence and it was tempting. Just running away sounds amazing. Then reality hit as she placed a hand on the fence. It wasn't even three seconds as Seungcheol grabbed her by the arm and pulled her back inside with (y/n) arguing to let go.

"Do you have a death wish?!", he yelled, letting her go as soon as they were inside.

"I was just going outside to get some fresh air. I feel like a prisoner here!", she said.

Her hands landed on her waist as she put weight on one leg.

"It's better than having someone stab you with a knife or shoot you right in the head when you least expect it! Do I have to lock the door in order to keep you from doing something stupid?!", he yelled even louder.

She bit back her tongue, hands turning into fists. Obviously he noticed as he tilted his head.

"If you want to hit me, go ahead", he said, getting closer.

Again, she was tempted. But instead she lightly shook her head and walked passed him, heading towards the room.

Seungcheol let out a breath and pinched the bridge of his nose. Should he go talk to her or let her cool down? Either way, he knows she won't speak to him.

"Women."

~~~
(Y/n) has been staring out the same window. The same view doesn't bother her though. Sometimes she imagines herself running through the field of grass, feeling the freshness as rains pours down. There were some cows minding their own business not too far from the fence. She counted each one. There were ten of them.
She smiles as she spotted a calf eating grass and looking up at its mother. Freedom is nice.
It's been almost four weeks since they've been hiding out. No news yet whether the man was caught. Although Seungcheol has been connecting with his employees/friends, one of them she used to work for. (Y/n) doesn't understand how they can work for him. It's frustrating.
She stood up on her feet and walked down to the living room. Sitting down on the couch, she grabbed a book that she had been reading for the past few days and skimmed to the page she left off. A few feet away, Seungcheol leaned against the wall and watched her, noticing her eyes were puffy and red. He cautiously stepped forward, meeting eyes with her for a second. She turned away, putting her back against the armrest.
"You're really stubborn, you know?", he said.
She rolled her eyes, clearing her throat before continuing to read. He sat down on the other couch and leaned back as his left leg went over his right.
(Y/n) couldn't help but slowly glance at him, again meeting eyes. Quickly turning away, her grip tightened on the book. She wasn't even reading anymore. There's something about his presence that makes her feel confused.
"Which book are you reading?", he asked.
"..why the hell do you wanna know?", she tried her best to sound angry, hoping he would leave her alone.
He sighed, lightly shaking his head.
His phone rang seconds later. As he answered it, he stood up and went over to the hallway.
"Found something?", he said.
"Yes. But it's best to talk in person. I'll be there in a bit."
Seungcheol stood at the front door, opening it for Jeonghan. He showed him a folder with private information. Not wanting (y/n) to hear, he told her they would be in his office.
"Whatever", she muttered.
Jeonghan smirked and looked over at Seungcheol who's embarrassed, ears turning red.
Both of them stepped into his room, closing the door so their voices won't echo through the hallways. Jeonghan couldn't stop smiling because of the way (y/n) is acting towards him.
"I thought you said you'd have her 'under your wing'. Seems like she has her own wings", Jeonghan said.
"Shut it. Anyways, are you gonna show me what's in there or what?", Seungcheol.
"Right. So I spoke to someone undercover and they said that they found his secret place. They already have a plan to catch him and give him to the authorities without us being involved. The only problem is they're tracking (y/n) I don't know how but..they could be here any minute so if I were you, I'd hurry and get out of here", Jeonghan said.
Seungcheol didn't hesitate to get up and go towards (y/n) but she wasn't there. He searched for her in different rooms but no luck.
"What's wrong?", Jeonghan asked.
"(Y/n)'s gone. I think she left", Seungcheol said, noticing an open window.
"Really? Maybe she's around here somewhere", Jeonghan said.
Seungcheol got close to the window to see if she was anywhere near there but all he could see is grass. He was about to climb out but got hit behind the head, causing him to pass out.
"What a shame."
~~~

"Finally I'm free", (y/n) stopped near a pond far away from Seungcheol's house.

She sat down on a rock and took off her shoes, placing them in the water. Then it occurred to her, how is she gonna get home?

"Maybe I should just stay here", she mumbled to herself.

"(Y/n)."

Looking back, she stood up and fixed herself.

"Jeonghan, how'd you know I was here?", she asked.

"Boss got worried when he found you gone. Come on, he's waiting", he said.

"I don't think I can go back. I'm just tired of it. I wanna go home", she said.

"And you will. That's why I came over. I spoke to him about the man being captured. It's over", Jeonghan said.

"Really?? You mean it?? I can really go home??", now she was more excited.

"Yeah, let's go", he extended his hand.

She smiled but then disappeared as she looked at his hand.

"Jeonghan...you're bleeding", she said.

"Oh...yeah I must have injured it somehow and didn't notice. Anyways, come with me. Seungcheol is waiting", he said.

Hesitant, she began walking beside him. Her heart was racing and not because of Seungcheol. But because she has a bad feeling about something.

As they arrived at the house, (y/n) turned to look at Jeonghan who was now close to her. Her breath hitched, feeling his hands on her forearms.

"What are you doing?", she asked, getting scared.

"Nothing. So Seungcheol is giving you a hard time, right?", he asked.

"You have no idea. He is the worst", she rolled her eyes.

"You know he has feelings for you, right? He just doesn't know how to act around you", he said.

"Seungcheol? Feelings for me? Yeah right. I don't think that asshole has feelings for anyone but himself", she said.

His eyes shifted to the stairs before looking back at her.

"What?", she asked, turning but Jeonghan placed his hand on her cheek, preventing her from doing so.

"Remember the time you've worked for me?", he asked.

"Yes?..I mean you gave me a lot of opportunities to better myself and-"

"I'm not talking about that. I meant the times when we were alone and-..I'm sure you remember. I mean, who can forget about their first right?", his hand caressed her cheek, lowering down to her neck.

"..I shouldn't have done that. I was just going through things back then and I was stressing out about the promotion you were gonna give me. I've worked hard to get where I am", she said.

He lowered his hand to his side, slighting frowning.

"Do you really think you're where you're at because of the 'hard work' you put into? You helped me and I helped you. You wanted attention and that's what I gave you. You're not special, you know", he laughed mockingly.

She pushed herself away, tears forming but she couldn't cry in front of him. As she backed away, she stepped on a piece of glass. There were a bunch on the floor, some pieces containing blood. Then she thought about Jeonghan's injured hand.

"(Y/n)."

Looking back at Jeonghan, she backed away from him as he started getting closer, smirk slowly appearing.

"What did you do?", she asked.

If she took her eyes off of him for at least a second, she knew he would charge forward and she wouldn't have time to escape.

"I don't know what you mean by that", he said.

Her back suddenly touched the wall, preventing her from moving any further. His hands made contact with her wrists, getting tighter every second.

"Let go of me Jeonghan", she warned.

He laugh loudly, throwing his head back. Then pushing her up against the wall as his hand grabbed her neck.

"All I wanted was the money that you're so-called boyfriend promised. But like you said, he's an egoistic asshole who thinks of no one but himself. But killing him instantly without torture is no fun. So how in the world could I torture him? I thought about it a lot and I figured it out. His weak spot is you", he grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled her up the stairs and into a room where Seungcheol had been tied up on a chair.

He quickly looked up and widened his eyes as he saw Jeonghan with (y/n).

"What are you doing??", he tried untying the ropes but it was too tight.

Jeonghan threw (y/n) onto the floor, scraping her knees. She backed away until she was touching the wall.

"How can you do this?? You betrayed everyone in the business. Were you the one who leaked out information??", Seungcheol asked, obviously angry.

Jeonghan didn't answer and instead grabbed a gun from a bag, pointing it at (y/n). Seungcheol became nervous and told him to not do it.

"Why? It's not like you care about her anyways, right? I can kill her now and make things easier for everyone", Jeonghan said, staring right at him.

"That's not fair and you know it. I don't see why you're doing this", Seungcheol said.

"I want what you owe me. I've worked for you for years and didn't receive the fair payment that I deserved. And your father promoted you to CEO while (y/n) here did all your work. You don't deserve it. But now you're gonna learn your lesson. You're gonna realize what happens when you don't do things right", Jeonghan stepped forward, leaning down to face Seungcheol before heading towards (y/n) who was on the ground having a panic attack.

He pointed the gun on her forehead, causing her to ball in tears.

"Now should I shoot her in the head and kill her instantly..or shoot her down here so she can die a slow and painful death? Either way, she's dead", Jeonghan lowered the gun down to her chest where her heart was.

"She has nothing to do what is going on. If you're mad at me, take it out on me. Not (y/n)", Seungcheol said.

Jeonghan stood up and glanced at both of them.

"Tell her the truth", he said.

Seungcheol was obviously confused. His brows furrowed, thinking about what he means. Jeonghan is an impatient person so as he sees that his enemy is taking long too long to answer, he raised the gun and hit (y/n) across the face.

She bled from her mouth and nose, more tears spilling. Her arms shaking from fear. Seungcheol couldn't take it. He wanted to kill him.

"Tell. Her. The. Truth", Jeonghan slowly pronounced each word clearly.

Again, Seungcheol has no idea what he meant. That's until he glanced over at (y/n). He remembers what he told him in his office. Though it was embarrassing for him to admit it aloud, he doesn't want (y/n) to die.

"Okay. I'll tell her. But as long as you let her go. You can kill me", Seungcheol said.

(Y/n) shook her head. How is she taking his side? She should trust herself only at this point.

Jeonghan grabbed (y/n) by the hair and pulled her until she was kneeling in front of Seungcheol. He couldn't look at her so instead he leaned forward as much as he could and kept his eyes on his lap.

"The reason why I've been so hard on you is because I needed an excuse for you to be around. And I threatened to fire you because I don't know how to act around you. The truth is I have feelings for you..and I didn't want to admit it because..I was embarrassed. My family have been married to people who are up to their standards and you are struggling with money. I couldn't do it", Seungcheol said.

(Y/n) tried to process what he said. She was an embarrassment. Jeonghan only hired her to hook up with her and Seungcheol likes her but doesn't want to be with her because she's not "rich" enough.

Jeonghan smirked and kneeled down, talking into her ear.

"See, told you that you weren't special", he said.

(Y/n) turned her head and felt weak. She was boiling with anger and pain.

"Now...you know what sounds amazing?..revenge", Jeonghan helped her stand up on her knees and placed the gun in her hands, pointing it towards Seungcheol who didn't flinch one bit.

Her hands were shaking as she held the gun, making eye contact with her boss. Tears repeatedly rolled down her face, thinking about her life. This was like kindergarten all over again. People pretending to be friends with her only to talk behind her back.

(Y/n) closed her eyes and turned away, carefully putting her finger on the trigger. Seungcheol was preparing himself to die at that second, nodding as he accepted his fate.

Even though she was really upset, she couldn't do it and Jeonghan noticed. She quickly turned to point the gun at him.

"That's not a very good idea", Jeonghan said.

"Really? And why is that?", she asked, brows twitching.

"Because...if you kill me, you're gonna walk out of here thinking everything is gonna be okay. But then as soon as you sleep, all you're gonna see is me. I will haunt your dreams. I will keep you awake everyday until you go crazy. But if you hand me the gun, we can make a deal and you can work for me again. I won't treat you the way he has. I'll give you the credit you deserve. You just have to do one little favor for me...kill him", he turned her around to face Seungcheol.

"He treated you like dirt. You worked so hard and he took all the credit. He doesn't care about you. He cares about himself. Do it. It'll make you feel better", he whispered in her ear as he stood behind her.

His hands touched her arms, softly caressing them as he used to back then. He glared at Seungcheol whole kissing her cheek.

"Don't touch her", Seungcheol said.

"That's not what you should be worried about. I'll just leave the two of you at it", Jeonghan stepped aside and leaned against the wall.

(Y/n) stood there with shaking arms. She has to admit, Jeonghan treated her much better than Seungcheol but all for the wrong reasons.

"Hey, look I'm sorry. I shouldn't have treated you the way I did. I probably deserve this but you don't have to do something you don't want to", Seungcheol said.

"Just like you hiring me?", she said.

She has a lot of anger inside. But she couldn't lash out because seconds later the police surrounded the house. Apparently Seungcheol's father didn't like the absence of his son so he looked into and hired detectives and other people who were professionally experienced to be able to look for him. Jeonghan was arrested and there was a lookout for the man who is looking for (y/n) so she had to be put under protection. There will be a police car parked in front of her house at all hours of the day.

(Y/n) was sitting on the back of the ambulance, watching police officers walk in and out the Seungcheol's house. He was talking to his father. Or actually, being scolded by his father. He put her in danger because he couldn't stop with his underground deals with other companies. His father didn't like that one bit.

"I apologize for my son's actions. And I'm sure you'd want to sue the company. I won't blame you. My son has no clue how to run a business obviously. I will help with whatever payment you think of-"

"Because I need help with money, right? Did you hire me because I was the only one left and that hiring me was a risk?", she asked.

His face changed, feeling offended.

"Your son is the one who told me. So thanks..but no thanks. I'd rather not take your 'hush money'. And I quit", she said.

He cleared his throat before walking away.

One of the police officers informed her that she will be taken to the hospital to get checked out to see if she really had a tracking device. Then Seungcheol walked over towards her with an apologetic expression.

"I'm sure you don't want to talk to me-"

"I don't", she said.

"Just hear me out before you completely shut me out of your life. I'm really sorry. You could've died because of me. And I wouldn't have forgiven myself if that happened. But what I said about having feelings for you, that's true", he said, hoping she'd get rid of the scary frown on her face.

"You also said I'm an embarrassment. I don't want to be with anyone who thinks of me that way. I want someone who loves me and not be ashamed of being near me. I want that person to be proud that they're with me. And obviously you're not that person. I want you to stay far away from me as possible. If I ever see your face, I won't hesitate to call the police", she said.

"But-"

She shook her head and stepped in the ambulance, telling the EMTs that she's ready to go. They closed the doors, (y/n) not bothering to look out the little windows.

The doctors did find a tracking device in her left arm but luckily were able to get it out. After everything that happened, (y/n) did struggle to focus and had to move back with her parents. They helped her get back on her feet and even had an opportunity for her career. It's not exactly what she had in mind but it's better than working with people who think of her as an embarrassment.
