"You cheated again!"

"I did not!"

"Baaaabe, Seungkwan is cheating! Tell him to play fair", you whined to your boyfriend, Joshua, who walked behind the couch and leaned down, kissing your cheek.

"She thinks because I keep putting down the card where she has to get extra cards, I'm cheating. Tell her it's allowed", Seungkwan said.

"He's right. He's allowed to do that. You just aren't good at playing card games", Joshua smiled teasingly at you.

You shrugged his chin away from your shoulder and rolled your eyes.

"Whatever. I don't wanna play anymore", you muttered as you put the cards down, walking away to your shared bedroom with Joshua.

"Aw come on, don't be a sour puss. I'll take it easy on you", Seungkwan chuckled, picking up all of the cards.

Joshua shook his head and followed you. He found you sitting in front of your vanity mirror, brushing your hair that always seems to smell like strawberries. He smiled and walked in, closing the door behind him.

His hands landed on the chair and leaned down, placing a kiss on top of your head, smile on his face when he looked at you through the mirror.

"You're so cute when you're mad", he teased.

"I'm not mad...I'm annoyed", she said, glaring at him.

"Why? He was just joking around", he said.

"But you could've came up with a rule. He could only do it once every round. That's not fair. He did that three times. I never win", you pouted.

"Hm...how about I take you out on a date?", he asked.

"Really?! Can we go to one of those karaoke places??? I've always wanted to go there!", you asked, standing up with much excitement.

He nodded and smiled as you squealed with joy. You kept talking about what to wear, how much makeup you should put on, and how you should your hair but Joshua didn't care about any of that. He just loves you being yourself.

"I'm ready", you said, walking towards the living room to find Seungkwan, Jun, Dino, and Mingyu playing go fish.

They all looked at you with wide eyes and pink rosy cheeks. They've never seen you in a dress whatsoever so seeing you like that is causing their hearts to race rapidly.

"Where's Joshua?", you asked them.

No one spoke. They just pointed towards the kitchen with their mouths open.

"Weirdos", you huffed quietly while making your way towards the kitchen.

"My heart hurts..is that just me?", Jun said, others responding by nodding their heads.

"Hey", you smiled when you saw Joshua on his phone.

He put his phone away and smiled widely when he saw you. He couldn't help but put his hand under your chin and tilted your head so he can kiss you.

"What was that for?", you asked, cheeks turning red.

"Just because I'm so lucky to be with you", he said.

You stared blankly at him, eyes blinking a few times before shaking your head, awkwardly laughing.

"Can we get going? I hear they're giving free milkshakes", you said.

He held your hand and couldn't stop smiling. He wanted to kiss you again but stopped when their lips were an inch away, turning his head to meet eyes with Seungkwan, Jun, Dino and Mingyu who were either smirking or giving you weird looks.

"Do you mind?", Joshua asked.

"Yes. This is the kitchen. Not a make out room", Seungkwan said.

Joshua rolled his eyes and lead you towards the front door with the guys giving you compliments on the way out.

You and Joshua were now in one of the karaoke rooms, sitting down before grabbing the microphones.

"My cousin told me that they let you borrow props and stuff to make it even more fun. When she tried it, she tripped over a long red fluffy coat that she had on and face planted to the floor. When she told me, I laughed so hard that water went up my nose. She told me when I was drinking water. Anyways, wanna get started?", you asked, standing up on your feet.

He went over to the weird closet they had and found a funny hat that he wanted to put on her. When he did, he laughed and slapped his knee repeatedly. It was a hat that had to be strapped with velcro and was shaped like a heart and had a happy face on it.

"You look so cute. It brings l it your chubby cheeks", he said.

You looked inside the closet and found a the same red coat that your cousin mentioned. Smirking, you turned around and showed the coat to him.

"Don't even think about it. I am not wearing that", he said.

"Please..I wore this stupid hat", you pouted, hugging his arm.

"Maybe...if I can get a kiss", he smirked.

"Hey that's not fair. You shouldn't use love like that. If you won't wear the coat, I'm taking off this hat", you said, unstrapping the hat but he quickly grabbed the coat and put it on.

You smiled and kissed his cheek.

Joshua was watching you skip along the sidewalk, humming to a song that you sang in karaoke. Your fingers traced along the walls of buildings, noticing the different colors of paint. As you turned to face Joshua, he began talking on his phone, mouth turning into a frown. Tilting your head, you walked closer to him but he quickly hung up.

"What's wrong?", you asked.

"Don't panic okay? Because if you do, it'll just escalate the problem. Just keep walking and I'll tell you", he said.

He placed his hand on your lower back and forced you to walk ahead with him beside you. You didn't know what was going on but you were getting nervous.

"Someone's following us. Jun called and said someone is posting pictures online of us. It might be the same person who spooked you a few weeks ago. Jun said he's gonna call the police and we have to stay close to crowds of people so they won't try anything. Just stay calm and pretend nothing is going on", he whispered.

Your hands started shaking so you quickly stuffed them in your pockets of the black jacket you had on. You can hear footsteps behind you and you were about to turn your head but Joshua kept whispering to look forward.

The crowd of people were just a few feet away and the footsteps quickened as did yours. Joshua noticed so he pulled you into an antique store, greeting the only employee that was there. He explained to the employee what was going on and asked if it was alright to stay in there until the police came.

You sat down on one of the chairs as he spoke to the employee. An eerie whisper was coming from the back of the store which only you can hear. You tilted your head to see if there was anything behind the curtains. Your feet took steps towards it, listening to the whispers. Your hand reaching forward to pull away the curtains, disappearing into the back.

"(Y/n) come on-...(y/n)?" Joshua looked back and froze as he didn't see you sitting on the chair.

He looked around the front of the store but you were nowhere.

"Did you see her walk out??", he asked the employee.

"No, I didn't", the man said.

Joshua walked over to the back room and moved boxes to see if you were there. It's only one room and there was a window, a very small window which was bolted in. It couldn't open from the inside.

"Are there any other exits?", he asked the man.

"No. Just the front door", the man said.

Joshua walked out through the front door and turned his head from left to right. There was no one in sight. He panicked and ran over around the shop to see if you were in the back. Just an empty alleyway.

"The police are on their way. You can tell them she's missing", the man said.

Joshua couldn't wait that long. By the time they get here, you won't be anywhere near the store. He ran towards the crowd of people, asking if they've seen you. He gave a really clear description of you but he didn't get the answer he wanted.

"Damn", he whispered to himself.

He stayed out the whole night looking for you.

"She just disappeared?", Seungkwan asked.

"I don't know how. Whoever was following us must have tricked her to go out of the store. It's strange though. The door was never opened after we went in. And I looked everywhere and asked everyone and nothing", Joshua groaned as he became frustrated the more he thought about it.

"Well the police are searching the area and said they'll give us a call if they find anything", Seungcheol said.

"I shouldn't have let her off my sight. I can't imagine how she's feeling right now. She's probably so scared", Joshua frowned, knowing he could've done better.

"Don't blame yourself. It's not your fault people out there are sick and crazy. They'll find her", Seungcheol said, softly patting Joshua's back.

"Yeah, and they should've caught the person weeks ago. Didn't you say they tried to scare her?", Seungkwan asked.

"The police already tried tracking them but they didn't find anything. As if they don't exist. Maybe they think this isn't important and don't wanna waste their time. It might not be important to them but it is to me. She has to be around. I need to go looking for her", Joshua said as he stood up from the couch and grabbed his coat.

"The police said you're not supposed to leave. Everyone has to stay here. If it's a crazy fan, they can hurt you. I don't even think I consider this person as a fan. Either way, something bad can happen to you", Seungcheol said, getting in the way.

"Well I can't stay here and wait for the inevitable. I need to be out there", Joshua said.

"I know you want to see her safe. But you don't even know where to look. She disappeared when you were at the antique store and you checked everywhere. The police already ruled you out. There's nothing else you can do but wait. Believe me, everyone wants to go out and look for her but we don't even know who took her, we don't know what's their motive, and we don't know if they're close by. Just let the police do their job. They have the right equipment and the right people", Seungcheol said.

Joshua and his friends were anxious, scared, impatient. But they did have to wait.

Around 4 in the morning, Joshua woke up to a call that made his heart race. He woke up everyone else and headed straight towards the hospital. They quickly walked in and found one of the detectives that's in charge of the case.

"They found her?? How is she??", Joshua asked, frantically looking around.

"She's fine. They found her sitting in the middle of the woods. She's a bit shaken up. We tried to question her but apparently the doctor said she's in shock. She's not talking. The doctors aren't letting anyone see her at the moment though", the detective said.

"That's BS. I want to see her. She's my girlfriend", Joshua said.

"The doctors have to do a few tests first just in case", the detective said.

He walked away to talk to other cops and detectives. Joshua sat down on one of the chairs and sighed, holding the bridge of his nose with his index finger and thumb.

"Hey at least they found her. She's okay", Seungcheol sat down next to him and comforted him until they were able to see you.

The doctors lead them to a room which you were in. You were still in the dress that was no longer white. It was torn on some parts and dirt had faded the color. There were no bruises or scratches on your skin which the doctors found strange.

You sat close to the window, knees brought up to your chest as your finger traced along the lines of the glass. The nurse informed Joshua and everyone else that your a bit jumpy and will act out if they spook you. So as the nurse left, Joshua carefully walked up to you and sat down on the chair across from her.

"(Y/n)", he said softly.

You didn't turn your head but your eyes were looking at him. Your finger also stopped tracing on the window.

"(Y/n), what happened?", he asked.

Your head quickly turned, now facing him. He can see dark circles under your eyes. It hasn't even been that long yet it looks like you haven't slept in days. He eyed your hand which looks like it had been in a fists for a while. He tried reaching for it but you quickly moved away and sat down on the hospital bed.

"Are you mad at me? I swear, I didn't mean for you to get kidnapped", he said.

You combed your hair with your fingers. Then you were hearing whispers, causing you to look around and cover your ears.

"I think right now isn't a good time. Maybe you can come back later when we do more tests", the nurse said.

Joshua felt guilty for the way you were acting. The nurse escorted him out of the room and attended to you.

"What do you mean she's acting strange?", Seungkwan asked.

"I don't know. It's like she doesn't recognize me. I tried talking to her but she just loves away and doesn't say anything. And she looks so tired. I don't understand", Joshua said.

"Maybe she was drugged? That's probably why she doesn't remember", Jun said.

"No. The nurse said she's fine. They didn't find anything", Joshua said.

"Well, they're gonna do more tests. Don't worry", Seungcheol said.

Joshua was left in the waiting room while his friends went home to go do some errands. He couldn't sleep at all, not because of how uncomfortable the chairs were but because they hadn't updated him him about how you were doing.

Finally after hours of waiting, one of the doctors came out and explained how all the tests came out negative. All you were experiencing was shock. Then it'll take maybe a day or two for you to snap out of it and to not force or pressure you to remember something.

Then you were discharged from the hospital. The detectives said that if you remember anything, to call them right away.

Joshua lead you towards the car, carefully holding your hand so you wouldn't be triggered. As you stepped in the car, he helped you put on the seatbelt. Your eyes widened as you stared forward blankly. He noticed so he turned to look where you were looking at but it was just a wall.

Instead of asking, he closed the door and went over to the drivers side, starting the car before driving to the house. Joshua already warned the others that they'll be arriving soon and to not approach too quickly which they agreed.

Joshua placed his hand on your lower back, leading you towards the front door. You glanced over at the garden shed and tightened your hands into fists. Luckily Joshua didn't notice, is what you thought.

He opened the door and waited for you to go in. You took off your shoes and headed straight for the couch, bringing your knees up to your chest. The guys walked out of their rooms and stopped as they saw you.

Joshua extended his hand forward and shook his head. They were thinking that you were probably still adjusting so they continued on with what they were doing.

You've been sitting on the couch for three hours now, staring out the window. The garden shed has been in your sight all this time. Your brows furrowed together as soft whispers were heard in your head. Before you could freak out, Joshua asked if you were hungry but you just shook your head.

"You need to eat something. Maybe it will help", he said, kneeling in front of you.

Silence.

He kept thinking if you were angry at him for leaving you. All he wanted to do is prove how sorry he is and how he didn't mean to. He just wanted you safe.

"Alright. Well if you get hungry, let me know", he softly smiled before going back into the dining room.

Sighing, you rested your chin on your knees and closed your eyes, not falling asleep whatsoever. Although time did feel like it went by quickly.

After taking a long bath, you put on some warm clothes and sat down on the bed, covering your legs with the blanket. A shiver went down your spine as a dark whisper was heard in your left ear. You covered it with your hand and closed your eyes tightly until you could no longer hear it.

Joshua was in the bathroom, probably brushing his teeth. You didn't want him seeing you this way so you laid back, covered yourself with the blanket and tried falling asleep, but it was impossible.

Throughout the night, you felt something in you that felt like you were being choked. You stood up from the bed, glanced at Joshua and began walking. The sliding door that lead to the backyard was locked so no one would come in. Unlocking it, you slid the door open and walked out, feeling the cold wet grass between your toes. The garden shed have been locked as well but you managed to get it open. It was dark and cold, you couldn't visibly see what was inside but feeling comfortable, you sat down in front of the shed and just stared inside.

Seungkwan woke up in the middle of the night to get a drink from the kitchen but as he was near the living room, he noticed the back door was open. He stepped forward and was about to close it until he saw you outside.

"(Y/n)?", he said.

He kneeled in front of you, placing a hand on your knee.

"What are you doing out here? It's cold. Let's get you inside", he said, holding your hand but as he felt it, you were really cold, like ice.

He looked up at you and noticed your eyes were a bit black. He was about to place his hand on your cheek but instead felt a pull and fell back. Confused since you didn't touch him, he looked back and froze, screaming before being pulled into the shed. It closed and you can hear Seungkwan's muffled scream, followed by a loud crack. Then it stopped.

You stood up and walked back to the room as if nothing happened. Joshua was still asleep. Sighing one last time, you closed your eyes and let time go by.

Joshua woke up the next morning and stretched his arms while yawning. As he turned to see you, you were already awake, staring up at the ceiling.

"Hungry?", he asked.

Turning your body, you covered yourself with the blanket, blocking the sunlight coming through the window.

He sighed and went out towards the living room to meet a worried and scared Seungcheol.

"What's up?", he asked.

"Make sure not to let anyone in the back. I already called the police and ambulance", Seungcheol said.

"Ambulance? For what? What happened?", Joshua asked.

He didn't want anyone to hear. He made sure no one was around.

"Something happened to Seungkwan. Just..make sure everyone stays inside", Seungcheol said.

Joshua, as curious as he was, stopped himself from going outside and seeing what Seungcheol was talking about. You were standing behind him, glancing over his shoulder.

"We should head back in the room. Seungcheol is cleaning outside", Joshua said, blocking the way.

"I'm hungry", you said, finally.

"Oh..well we can go out to have breakfast if you're that hungry. We don't really have much to eat here", Joshua said.

"Okay", you said before going back to the room to change.

Joshua drove you to a nearby café which they always go to. You ordered some pancakes and a coffee which he found strange because you would always get a muffin with sliced bananas and oatmeal and a shake to drink.

"Did you sleep alright?", he asked.

You shrugged your shoulders and took a few pieces of pancake into your mouth. No one was sure if you were eating too fast or Joshua was eating too slow but he watched your every move, wondering if you were really okay.

A few minutes of eating, your stomach began to hurt. You got up and quickly headed towards the bathroom, pushing yourself into an empty stall and throwing up in the toilet. Something scared you though. You were throwing up blood. At that moment, you didn't know what to do, you just froze as you stared at the blood.

It almost got all over your clothes. Wiping the blood away with toilet paper, you flushed the toilet and headed towards the sink to wash your face and hands. It was starting to hit you that something's going on. You weren't yourself and the only way you can describe it is feeling trapped.

Once you went back to the table, Joshua looked worried.

"Are you okay?", he asked.

"I think I ate too fast", you said.

You sat down on the chair but once you did, you felt cold. Joshua placed his jacket on you, hoping that would help.

"I think we should go back to the hospital and tell the doctor that you're not feeling well. I really think it's important we do that", he said.

"They're just gonna say I'm fine and write a prescription for stomach aches", you said.

"This is more than just stomach aches. If there's something wrong, you need to get checked out. What if it's serious? Please do this for me", he said.

He placed his hand on top of yours. You watched his face change into a different expression. You didn't want to go but he's gonna keep telling you so you agreed.

"How are you feeling now?", the doctor asked.

"Fine", you answered.

After you did, you shivered, feeling cold again. The doctor checked your breathing and if there were any changes to your health.

"Are you getting any sleep?", the doctor asked.

You shrugged your shoulders. You just wanted to step off the patients bed and run as far as you could go.

The doctor placed his hand under your chin and tilted your head up to check your eyes. Something about the way he squinted his eyes and turned off the small light made your skin crawl.

"What?", you asked.

"Nothing. You just need a few injections and hopefully that will work", the doctor said.

He told you he's be right back to get everything he needed. As soon as he closed the door, his lips turned into a thin line, walking quickly to his office.

He met up with one of the nurses and quietly let her know what was going on which caught her attention. She smiled and went over to the lab to get the equipment.

When they came back, you raised an eyebrow as they brought these weird equipment that looked like it came from space.

"I thought you said I just needed some injections", you said.

"You do. This is quite different though. I need your arm", the doctor said.

You extended your right arm and watched as the nurse wrapped a black cloth and tightened it. The doctor was holding a needle, a really big needle, and positioned it. As he injected you, you felt wobbly.

"Is that supposed to happen?", you asked, noticing your weird turning a greenish black color.

Your vision was slightly blurred and your breathing quickened.

"Don't worry. Everything is going as planned", the doctor said.

He glanced over at the nurse, nodding at the rest of the equipment. He helped you lie down on the patient bed and grabbed another needle, though you couldn't tell because you were going in and out of consciousness.

"Hey doctor, how is she?", Joshua asked.

"Fine. We're just doing more tests just to make sure. Anyways, I should go. The nurse will be right out with her", the doctor walked away, probably to handle another patient.

Joshua sighed in relief and sat down, hearing his phone ring.

"Yeah?", he answered.

"Hey, where are you?"

"At the hospital. (Y/n) wasn't feeling good", he said.

"Is she there with you?"

"Not at the moment. They're doing tests. Why?", he asked.

"Get her out of there. Quickly! I'll explain as soon as you get here. Just don't let anyone do any tests on her."

Joshua has no clue why Seungcheol would say that but it did sound serious. He could see the nurse leading you towards the elevator so he stood up and caught up to her.

"Hi, are you done? I need to take her somewhere", Joshua said.

"Sorry. I have to take her up to the lab", the nurse said.

She was about to press the elevator button but he stood in the way.

"No. She has to be discharged right now. There's an important matter and I need her", Joshua said.

"Well I can't do that because she isn't doing so well-"

"The doctor said she's fine. So I'm taking her with me. Either do as I say or I'll talk to your supervisor", he said.

The nurse rolled her eyes and let go of you, Joshua quickly holding your hand. He pulled you out of that place and drove back to the house where there were a bunch of policemen.

"Joshua hey, you're here. We need to talk", Seungcheol came out and told you and Joshua to go inside.

"What's going on?", Joshua asked.

"The detectives want to talk to the both of you", Seungcheol said.

You and Joshua sat down on the couch, with you holding his hand because of how many policemen were in the house. They were searching around and looking for fingerprints.

"I need to know exactly what they did to her at the hospital", the detective said.

"I'm not sure. I had to stay outside. They wouldn't let me in with her", Joshua answered.

The detective looked over at you, then at your arm. It looked bruised.

"(Y/n), I need you to tell me what they did. Was it only one doctor?", he asked.

You shook your head.

"There was a nurse too. Some other nurse offered to help but they didn't let her. They gave me these injections and the needles were really big. It hurt. Then they brought this machine that looked like what's for oxygen but something wasn't right. If it was for oxygen, I should've stayed awake. But I felt dizzy and knocked unconscious. The last thing I remember is the nurse holding up..something. I couldn't really see", you said.

"What's this about?", Joshua asked.

"The doctor and nurse that worked on you have been on the run for years. They kept changing their names, appearances and careers. The doctor was married once and had an affair with the nurse. They kept coming up with ideas on how to become rich and that costed the life of his wife. They've been experimenting on innocent people. Some either died or it just didn't work. Now, some professionals have been doing research and based on that, I'm pretty sure it worked on (y/n). They're not gonna stop until they have their hands on her. We already have our men looking for them to find out how we can fix this and they'll be going to prison for a really long time", the detective said.

"Okay..but what do you mean experimenting? What have they been doing?", Joshua asked.

"Well..to make it easier for you to understand, it's kind of like something paranormal is inside of her. Whatever they injected her with, it's gonna make it stronger and..we need her to be in a place where she has no contact with anybody, especially you. Your friend, Seungkwan I believe that's his name, he suffered major injuries. A lot of broken bones and a concussion. I believe whatever is in (y/n) is responsible for it. If she's around people, it can be worse. We need her to be in a secluded area. We have a place up north and-"

"No. I don't wanna go", you said.

"Does she have to go?", Joshua asked.

"Everyone agreed that she should go. And it's not that we don't want her here. We just have to think about everyone's safety, including hers", Seungcheol said.

"Can I go with her?" Joshua asked.

"No. You have to remain separated. It won't trigger her. And if she's triggered, it won't be possible to get her back to the way she was. So if you can go pack your things, we can be on our way", the detective said.

Joshua held your hand and pulled you into the room. He didn't care about it being dangerous for him. He doesn't see you that way. But he did want you to get better.

"You're really gonna let me go?", you asked.

"Look, I would go if I was able to-"

"But you can. Maybe you can sneak away with me and I won't be alone", you said.

"I can't. I really can't. Do you really think they won't notice? I want to see you better and if being away from you for a while is gonna help then I'll do it. Believe me, I don't want you to leave. But that's not gonna help because you can get worse. Just think of it as a vacation", he softly smiled and helped you pack.

"Where are you gonna take her?", Joshua asked.

"I can't tell you that. There's information that needs to be kept secret. We already have the nurse in custody. We're gonna question her about the doctor's whereabouts and when we know everything, we'll start the treatment. I have to be clear that you will not be able to make phone calls. We need her to be focused and not alarmed. We will give you updates on how she's responding and when the treatment works, we'll let you know when she can come home", the detective said.

"And how long will that take?", Joshua asked.

"I don't have an exact time stamp on that. It could be days, weeks, maybe even months. But what's important is that she gets better", the detective answered.

You were waiting in the van, looking around at all the buttons and electronics that the police have. Joshua glanced at you and wondered about a question that has been on his mind.

"What if she doesn't get better?", he asked.

"I don't think you need to know-"

"Yes I do. I need to know all possibilities, including that one. What if she doesn't get better?", he asked again.

"..then we're gonna have to keep her locked up, no contact with the world. That can be an option or...", the detective stopped as Joshua began to panic.

"I know. Just...if that happens to be an option that has to be made, please don't let me know", Joshua said.

The detective gave him a card that includes the office's number before leaving. Joshua waved at you as the van drove away.

~~ 2 Years Later~~~

"At what time will she be here?", Seungkwan asked, checking out the window every minute.

"Relax. The detective said it'll be a while. They ran into some traffic", Joshua said, making sure the 'welcome home' banner is positioned correctly.

Joshua has been putting up balloons, bought a bunch of cupcakes of your favorite flavor, made the banner, and even told everyone to be there. When he got the news that you were healthy again and coming back, he got so happy that he went out to buy you a very expensive necklace but he thinks it's worth it.

"She's here!", Seungkwan yelled and ran out of the house with everyone looking at him weird.

You got out of the van and immediately was crushed by Seungkwan.

"It's nice to see you too", you chuckled.

Joshua kindly pushed him away and embraced you in a tight hug.

"I'm so glad you're back. I missed you", he mumbled softly before kissing your cheek.

"Would've thought you'd move on. I mean, it's been two years", you said.

"I would've waited longer", he smiled.

"Okay can you guys stop being gross? I wanna show (y/n) the new game I bought. And I can assure you that I'm not gonna cheat", Seungkwan said before pulling you inside the house, Joshua following behind with your bags.
