"Pass it to me!", you yelled, waving your hands in the air.

Woozi through the ball to you and you miraculously caught it. Joshua was closest to you so he tried to get the ball but instead you blocked it. You kept turning the other direction so he wouldn't get it but began to tickle you. You dropped the ball, catching his attention. He instantly grabbed it but you jumped onto his back, both of you laughing.

"You're such a cheater", you said, getting off of his back.

"Says the one who kept hugging the ball", he nudged you.

"That's how you play, silly", you chuckled and looked away as soon as he got closer to you.

You can see everyone else either smirking or awkwardly walking away. You cleared your throat and walked back towards the beach house.

Woozi's parents let him use the beach house for a week so he thought it was a good idea for everyone to take a break there. It's been only a day and being around your best friend is getting a bit difficult. Sure you had a small crush on him but that's what was dangerous. You can't risk losing memories of someone that means a lot to you. Falling for them is one way that can happen.

You sat down on the couch and covered yourself with a blanket. Woozi later came in and sat down next to me.

"Tired?", he asked.

Tired of feeling.

"Something like that", you said.

He chuckled but his face turned serious as he looked at me.

"Hey so...there's something I've been wanting to tell you", he said, rubbing the back of his neck.

You sat up correctly to listen to what he has to say.

"Um..so like...I've had this huge crush on you since that night at the party, when I got to know you more. And I know that this is gonna be very awkward for you. I really like you and I was wondering if you want to go out with me?", he asked.

"Uh..Woozi-"

"Call me Jihoon", he smiled.

"Jihoon..why now?", you asked.

"I just...don't want to lose you to someone else. I waited too long so that's why I'm asking you now. I don't want to keep waiting", he said.

You smiled at his little confession. Even though your feelings towards him and your best friend Joshua are completely different, you couldn't stop yourself from saying yes. Will being with Jihoon help get rid of your feelings for Joshua?

"Thanks Jihoon. You're really sweet. I'd love to go out with you", you smiled.

"Really?", he asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Yeah", you said.

"Great. Do you wanna go out tomorrow for dinner? I know this really amazing spot. You love it", he said.

"Sure", you smiled.

"Okay. Um..I'll go make reservations", he smiled and awkwardly walked away.

Your smile disappeared. You couldn't help but feel guilty. You and Joshua aren't together but why does it feel like I shouldn't be doing this?

"You're going out with Jihoon?"

Joshua's voice startled you. When you looked towards the balcony door, Joshua was standing there, looking somewhat upset.

"Um..yeah", you said.

"Oh..", he said, rubbing the back of his neck.

The atmosphere between you two got a bit awkward. You bit your lip and wanted to talk to him but he interrupted you.

"I'm gonna go help the guys", he said before heading out.

The next day when you were out with Jihoon was great...except you can't shake off the feeling of him being your friend and just your friend. After the date, he didn't even try to kiss you which is a good thing. You walked towards Joshua's room and knocked. When you peeled inside, he was on his laptop, listening to music.

"Hey", you smiled.

"Hey", he said, not taking his eyes off the laptop.

"We're back", you said.

"I can see that", he said.

"Do you wanna hang out for a bit?", you asked.

"Can't. I'm busy right now", he said.

He hasn't even looked at you. You nodded and closed the door to go to your room.

About over a week has passed. You were now in your own house. Joshua has been avoiding you and you hated it. Sure Jihoon is now your boyfriend but there was some hope you had that Joshua would come looking for you. You called him and texted him but he wouldn't answer.

Jihoon sat in front of you, strumming his guitar. You watched him practice and softly smile but the guitar only made you miss Joshua more.

"What's wrong?", he asked.

"Nothing", you smiled.

"It doesn't seem like nothing. I know there's something wrong...is it Joshua?", he asked.

You froze and your heart began to beat rapidly.

"W-Why would you think it's about him?", you asked.

"Because I may have looked over at his phone on the couch and noticed a bunch of missed calls and texts from you, saying how much you miss him. He's avoiding you because we're together, you know. I mean, I didn't know until he mocked me about finally being away from you. But anyways, I can sense he feels something about you. I've sensed that for a while now, even before I asked you out. I was afraid of telling him that I like you but I asked you out either way. You like him too, don't you?", he asked.

You chuckled awkwardly and sighed. He placed the guitar aside and held your hands.

"It's okay (y/n). You can admit it because I know you do. I'm a bit upset but I'd rather not have someone feel like they're being forced to stay with me. I want you happy and you have not been that the past few days. Do you want me to drive you to go see him?", he asked.

"He's avoiding me. I'm pretty sure that means he doesn't want to see me at all", you said.

"Well if he means a lot to you, you wouldn't give up that easily", he smiled.

You were now in front of Joshua's bedroom door. You hesitated as you thought about knocking. You also thought about him slamming the door in your face. You shook your head and told yourself you have to be brave. You knocked and opened the door as soon as he gave permission.

"Joshua?", you called out.

He got off of his bed and stared at you. He wasn't happy to see you at all.

"Have you seen my messages?", you asked.

"Yeah I have. What about them?", he said.

"Were you jealous about me being with Jihoon?", you asked.

"Jealous?? Why would I be jealous?? That's ridiculous", Joshua rolled his eyes.

"Then why else would you be avoiding me??", you asked.

"I don't know! Because I don't want to see you that's all", he said.

"Please tell me the truth", you said.

"Get out", he said, facing the other way.

You can tell he was getting frustrated. You've known him so long that when he's frustrated, he wants to be alone but you knew if you left, you wouldn't have another chance.

"I like you Joshua. I really really like you", you finally said.

He didn't move or say anything.

"Did you hear me?", you asked.

"You don't like me. You like Jihoon", he said.

"We broke up. He made me realize that the person I should be with is the one I always worry about, the one I enjoy being around, the one I miss when we're separated for a long time. The time you spent avoiding me is the time I spent missing you", you said.

You walked towards him and placed your hand on his shoulder. Surprisingly he didn't shake it away.

"If you feel the same way about me then please say something. Don't push me away", you whispered.

He stayed quiet.

"I was afraid to tell this. I was afraid of risking our amazing friendship and I think I just ruined it. This is why I went out with Jihoon. He's a great guy so I thought I would actually fall in love with him and forget my feelings about you but....anyways..I'll just leave", you said and turned away.

You were about to leave his room until Joshua pulled you back. He kissed you and felt sparks.

"I'm still mad at you", he said, holding you close.

"As long as your feelings for me don't go away, I'm okay with that", you smiled.
