7. Caught!
"Jimmy," I nudged him, pointing towards the screen. I clicked on Susan's contact and called her, pacing around.
"Noel," Susan said before I could say hello. "She's awake."
I sighed in relief. I thought something might have happened to Marion. "Well, that's good!" I laughed in relief. "How is she?"
"She's doing good. She was asking for you."
I smiled. "Do you want me to come over there? I would be more than happy to see her."
"I think she would love that. Thanks, Noel."
"I, um, I also have a friend with me. Do you mind if...?"
"Yeah, go ahead. I'm assuming is the Jimmy guy?"
"Yes," I said, laughing when she said 'the Jimmy guy'.
Susan told me which hospital they were at and wrapped up the call. I asked Jimmy if he wanted to come along, and he agreed. He offered to drive with his car.
---
Jimmy parked the car in the parking lot at the hospital that Marion and her family were at. We walked in and walked up to the front desk, where a mid-twenties girl with long blond hair that spilled down her shoulders was sitting.
"Excuse me, do you guys have a Marion Seyfried here?" I said once I approached the blonde.
She looked up at me, then turned her focus to her computer. She typed on her keyboard and looked back up at me. "Yes we do. Are you two visitors?"
"Mhm."
"Are you guys family?"
"No, just friends," Jimmy chimed in.
"Okay, she's on..." The blonde looked back at her computer. "The second floor, room 124."
"Thank you," I murmured, and Jimmy and I searched for the elevator. We eventually found it and clicked on the second floor.
As the doors were closing, Jimmy said: "Thank God Marion is okay."
I laughed. "Tell me about it."
The doors opened and we searched for her room. We passed every room until we found hers.
My breath suddenly got quieter because the room was so quiet I almost thought it was vacant. I leisurely opened the curtains, and there she was: Marion with a smile pasted on her face. I don't think I've ever been so happy to see her.
Her skin looked pale and she had dark circles under her eyes, and she was wearing a nasal cannula, but she was the same Marion I knew.
Susan was sitting at her bedside, her silky hair-that I've always been jealous of-spilling down her shoulders. She looked really good for 42-years-old. Her dad was sitting on the opposite side of her bed.
They all looked up simultaneously. I fixed my gaze on Marion, and she started laughing.
"Noel!" Marion squealed, thrusting her arms out for a hug. I hugged her tight, a tear rolling down my cheek from relief. She sounded completely fine, and that was all I wanted.
When I let go, Jimmy and Marion did a fist bump.
"I'm so happy to see you," I covered my mouth with my hands, my eyes welling up.
"I'm happy to see you too, Noel."
---
We all just talked, laughed, and I couldn't stop taking glances at Marion. I was so happy to see that she was alive and doing well.
I lost track of time and I realized my parents would be getting home by now.
"I should probably get going, I'm sorry. My parents are about to come home and I forgot to tell them I was here," I said, biting my lip.
I gave everyone a hug, and Jimmy and I were on our way home.
He dropped me off at my house, and luckily, my parents' cars weren't in the driveway yet.
"Love you," I kissed Jimmy passionately on the lips.
I climbed out of the car and walked up the my front door. I fumbled for my house keys and unlocked the front door.
I don't think I'll ever get enough of Jimmy.

Jimmy
9:27 a.m.
I woke up to the obstreperous knocking at the door.
My mother had just left for work a couple hours ago, and so did my father, thank God; because if they were here and they heard that knocking, they would've went berserk.
I sat up, stretching and yawning, and darted down the stairs. I opened the front door, and before I could see who it was, that person leaned their body into mine, pushing me back into the house.
"Who are you?" I said. The person lifted up their head, and all my limbs nearly went limp.
It was Jenna, my ex. It was the same girl I was telling Noel about when we were at Rockefeller Center; she broke up with me and moved away. Her bright green eyes and her light blond hair looked the same.
"Jenna?" I muttered. She inched her face closer to mine, but I backed away. "What the hell?"
"I came back. I wanted to go to Juiliard here for college to study instrumental, so I have an apartment here now."
Everything was such a whiplash that it took me a moment to absorb what was happening right now.
"Jenna-"
"I missed you," She interrupted. Her body was still leaning into mine, pushing me against the wall.
"Jenna, st-"
"I'm sorry for all I did. I still...I'm still in love with you."
I grimaced in disgust. "I'm with someone."
Jenna lifted a brow, finally backing away so I could stand. "Who?"
"Noel. Noel Pelletier," I said boastfully, feeling a rush of proudness that I was in love with her.
She cocked her head to the side, intrigued. "That girl? Isn't she, like, a nerd?"
"No, she's not. She's actually the best thing that has ever happened to me."
Jenna raised an eyebrow again, confused. "She's gross."
"Well, if you don't like her, I suggest you fuck off. Don't judge her because she's smarter than you."
She raised her hand to her chest. "You really like her, don't you?"
"Uh-huh."
Jenna paused, looking at me with a pained expression. "So, you're not in love with me anymore?"
"Jenna, oh my God! What can't you understand?" I ran my fingers through my hair in exasperation. "I moved on! It was two years ago, and you were the one who left me! Whatever you plan on doing, you're too late." I yelled gruffly. "Get out."
"But-"
"Get. Out." I focused on the door, and back to Jenna.
She steadily walked out the door, slamming the door behind her, making me jump.
I didn't move, I just stared into oblivion, pondering.
I thought about how thankful I was to have Noel in my life. She is the most adorable, loving, and compassionate person I've ever met. Jenna was always intimidating; sometimes a control-freak.
I realized that I really needed to see Noel right now. I grabbed my car keys from the table by the door and went to Noel's house.

Noel
I sat on the recliner, flipping through channels until there was a knock on the door. I groaned, stretching, then strolled to the front door.
I opened the door, and Jimmy barged in, kissing me passionately. He brought his force onto me and pushed me against the wall.
"What's this for?" I managed to say clearly through Jimmy's mouth.
He let go, looking me in the eyes with his intense brown eyes. "Is anyone home?"
"No, Parker went to his friends house."
I jumped up on Jimmy, wrapping my legs around his waist. He carried me to the couch, laying me down. He climbed on top of me, trailing my neck with kisses. I squirmed under him at the sensation, parting my lips. He slowly shrugged me out of my sweatshirt, slowly and steadily. He unclipped my black lacy bra, throwing it across the room. I unbuttoned and slid out of my sweatpants. Jimmy took my lingerie off, the lace brushing against my skin. I loved when he took everything slow and teased me. He took off his shirt, exposing his perfect body and his toned abs. He was making that face he got when he was turned on that drove me crazy.
As Jimmy was taking his pants off, the front door opened. I gasped, us both jumping off the couch and trying to force us into our clothes.
Before we could fully get our clothes on, Parker appeared in the doorway. His jaw was hanging down low, his eyes wide.
"Hey, Parker," I said nonchalantly, buttoning my jeans and covering my breasts with my sweatshirt. "What's up?"
He didn't say anything, just stared at us. I was mentally slapping myself over and over.
"Wow," Parker managed to mumble, scampering away.
Jimmy was still trying to get on his jeans. I threw my sweatshirt on and sat down on the couch, putting my hands to my temples. I didn't know what he saw; when we were kissing or when we were just taking our clothes off.
Jimmy finished putting his clothes back on and sat down next to me. He embraced me, bringing me closer to him. I leaned my head on his chest, sighing in aggravation.
"I'm sorry," Jimmy put my head under his chin. "I didn't know that would happen."
I wriggled out of his embrace, wrapping my legs around his waist as ran my fingers through his disheveled hair. "That was really spontaneous."
"Yeah..." He trailed off, lowering his eyes.
"Baby, what's wrong?" I lifted his chin up with my finger.
"Nothing for you to worry about."
"Jimmy," I said sternly.
He sucked in an exasperated breath. "Remember my ex that I was telling you about that one day, that moved away and all?" I nodded. "Well, this morning she showed up at my door...and she was acting so intimidating. She was talking shit about you, and-"
"What was she saying?"
Jimmy closed his eyes. "She was just acting so...jealous. I told her I was in love with you, and she said that you're gross and shit. I told her to leave because she was pissing me off."
Warmth flooded through my cheeks that he confronted her for talking behind me back. "What's her name again, and did she go to our school?"
"Jenna Portman, and yes."
"Oh, that cheerleader girl," I remembered her. She was a bitch to me.
"Mhm."
I paused. "Just try not to worry about it, okay? Don't let her bother you," I kissed him on the lips, trying to get his mind off of the negatives. Jimmy placed his hands on my hips, tenderly showing his affection.
I heard the front door open and close, instantly reminded me of what just happened. What if Parker tells our parents?
If he tells them, I'm a dead woman.
"You know..." Jimmy said when he let go. "You're a pretty cool person for a nerd."
"I'm not a nerd, I'm just..." I waved my hands in front of him in a sassy manner. "Smarter than you, babeh."
"Oh really? Is that how you see it?" Jimmy said, trying to keep a straight face, but failing miserably. "Prove it."
"Oh, you wanna play games, Fallon?" I got up, gesturing him to follow me to the computer room where there is a white board.
"I will do one of the unsolved math problems in the world," I picked up a marker and solved the Beal's Conjecture math problem and wrote the answer.
I faced Jimmy, who was looking at the problem, grimacing. "What language is that?"
I charged at him, in hopes of startling him. "Fight me." He didn't even budge, he just kept staring at the board. "I'll give you a math problem, and let's see your skills."
"Oh no," Jimmy murmured, snapping out of oblivion.
I wrote: 95 x 19 ÷ 67 on the board. Jimmy looked at it as if he just saw birth.
I handed him the marker, and watched him fail with my arms crossed triumphantly.
When Jimmy was done, he dropped the marker as if it were a microphone. I looked at his answer.
It was 28.
I barked out laughing, slapping my knee. I leaned into the wall and cracked up.
"What, you got something you gotta say?" Jimmy stepper closer to me. "Are you feeling served, because I just burnt your little ass?"
"No," I finished laughing. "It's so wrong." I started cracking up again.
"What?"
"It's..." I couldn't stop laughing. "That's so off!"
"Or is it?"
"Wow..." I wiped away a tear from laughing so hard. "That's a knee-slapper." I looked up at Jimmy, who was looking at me like I was insane. "You're such an Irish."
"Oh, does that make a difference? What are you?" Jimmy fake-sobbed.
"French."
"Well then..." He couldn't keep a straight-face, and laughed hysterically. "I would like to put some Irish in you."
"Is that right?"
"Yes."
I stepped closer to him in a I-just-served-you manner. "Me battre, chatte." I said, which meant 'Beat me, pussy' in French.
"What does that mean?!" He said in a terrified tone.
I smirked and walked away from him. I stopped in my tracks and grabbed the marker out of his hands, dropping it, telling him that he has been served.

Two hours later
Jimmy and I goofed around and joked for the following two hours in the computer room, searching up random videos on the Internet and trolling on forums.
I heard the front door open, and I assumed it was just Parker, so I went back to pranking this random person.
"Waitwaitwait, tell him that you're a stripper," Jimmy said through adorable giggles.
I typed that in, and we both barked out laughing. Jimmy's laugh could literally light up my whole world without hesitation.
"Noel, can you come here for a second?" I heard my mother's voice say. She was home at least five hours early.
"Uh, w-why?" I stammered.
"Just come here," She said in that voice that she used when I was going to be lectured.
And I was pretty sure what she was going to lecture me about.
