10. Catastrophe
Noel
Like I had told the girls, Jimmy and I were just sitting on the bench. We could see them clearly where we were.
Marion and Daniella were finally talking again, but then it came to a spontaneous stop. To my surprise, Marion didn't lower her eyes in awkwardness; she just keep scrutinizing Daniella.
"Jimmy," I nudged him, gesturing for him to stand up.
We both watched, and there it was. Marion's lips landed on Daniella's.
Jimmy and I looked at each other simultaneously, interlocking our hands. I smiled in relief that our friendship isn't ending.
We raced back into the tennis court, interrupting their kiss. They both looked at us and smiled.
"Guys," I said with a smile. "I love you." I hugged both of them, forming a group hug. "Never scare me like that ever again."
"Can I join?" Jimmy asked.
"Yes, you're our bestie too," I said with a laugh. He joined in and we all just sat there.
---
We dropped Daniella and Marion off, and Jimmy drove to my house.
One of the convenient things is that our parents are always at work, so we can always be alone.
To no surprise, my parents weren't home, but I wasn't sure about Parker.
Jimmy and I got out of the car, lacing our hands together, and walked into the house.
"Parker, you home?" I shouted, and he never answered back. He was probably at a friends' house.
Jimmy hugged me from behind and kissed my cheek. "Do you know how much I love you?"
"Yes."
"I don't think you do."
I turned to face him, scrunching his cheeks together. "Wanna fight?"
"Let's go, right now," Jimmy held up a fist.
"Let's go, Fallon," I broke and laughed. "I'm becoming you."
"How is that?"
"Because I keep laughing and breaking character."
We sat in silence until I said: "Wanna watch a movie upstairs or something?"
"Sure."
We both ran up the stairs to my bedroom. I fished through my shelf full of movies and pulled out Grease. I showed Jimmy the movie.
"Wanna watch this?" I asked, the song lyrics to the songs floating around in my head. I used to sing along all the time when I watched this movie as a kid.
"Oh my God," Jimmy grinned like a little kid. He grabbed the DVD and held it to his chest. "Tell me more, tell me more, was it love at first sight?" He sang in a high-pitched voice.
"Tell me more, tell me more, did she put up a fight?" I sang along.
I put the it in the DVD player and clicked play.
Jimmy and I took our shoes off and both cuddled under the blankets as we watched the movie.
There was that one feeling that I always got when I was around Jimmy; maybe it was the feeling that I could act like a total psycho, and his love for me would never change. I feel the same exact way about him; he's crazy sometimes, but I love him anyways, because he's being him.
---
The movie ended. I sat up from the bed, running my fingers through my now disheveled hair.
"Uuugh, I don't wanna get up, it's too comfyyy!" Jimmy whined, rolling over to face me.
"Then don't," I said in a playful seductive tone. "Is anyone home?" I walked on my knees to the window behind my bed and looked at the driveway. Nobody was home. "Nope."
I sat back down. "Sandy from this movie is super hot."
He looked at me, crinkling his eyebrows. "Is there something you wanna talk about?"
"No, I meant in general. You should date her or something."
Jimmy laughed. "No, because I'm with you."
"You would prefer me over Olivia Newton-John? Really?"
"Yeah. Would you want me to prove it to you?
I smirked. "Yes, sir," He ran over locked the door and turned off the lights.
"We have a problem," He said as he climbed on top of me.
"Do we now?" I asked seductively.
"Shut your little mouth," Jimmy said as he bit his lip. I laughed.
His lips crashed onto mine, his tongue exploring my mouth. He bit my bottom lip. We both stood up on our knees, Jimmy pulling me out of my tank top. As he was unclasping my bra, I suddenly got a wave of nausea. I clapped a hand over my mouth.
"Noel, are you okay?" Jimmy asked, crinkling his eyebrows. I didn't answer. Instead, I ran to the bathroom, bringing my head over the toilet. It took me a minute, and I let it all out. Jimmy pulled my hair back, brushing his hand up and down my back.
"I'm sorry," I mumbled when I was finished. I tightly gripped the sides of the toilet seat.
"Why are you sorry?"
"It's just gross to see that. I'm sorry you had to see that."
"No, don't be sorry," He hugged me
from behind. "Did you get it all out?"
"Yeah, I think I'm good,"
I brushed my teeth and we went back into the bedroom. I sat down, clutching my stomach. Jimmy pulled me into his embrace. Whenever he did that, it brung me at ease.
"Do you need me to get you anything? I can run to the store and get you Tums or something."
"No, thanks," I said, slowly releasing my hand from my stomach. "Jimmy, you always wear a condom, right?"
He nodded, arching a brow. "Yeah, why?"
"You do know condoms only work 97% of the time, right?"
Jimmy shook his head. "No they don't. They always work."
"Yes, it does. It clearly says it on the box."
"I doesn't say it on the box."
"Yes, it does!" I grabbed Jimmy's box of condoms, turning it to the back to the place where it clearly says it.
"They should make it more obvious!" Jimmy said, scrutinizing the box. "Noel, you're not pregnant. There's no way."
"How do you know? We've had sex, like, seven times. Don't you think one of the seven times a condom didn't work?"
Jimmy then lowered his eyes. "You have a point. Should we run to the store and grab pregnancy tests, just in case?"
"Yeah."
---
We went to Walgreen's and bought pregnancy tests. We rushed home and I ran to the bathroom. I peed on the stick. Once I was finished, I hesitated at looking at the results. I slowly lifted it up and looked at the results.
"You've gotta be fucking kidding me."

Marion
I peered my head through the doorway leading to the living room, where my parents were. I had finally found the gut to tell them. I had a really good instinct that they would understand; and if they don't, what's the worst they could do?
I walked into the living room, standing in front of both of them. They both turned they're focus to me, smiling. "What's up, Mari?" My mother asked.
I ignored her question, lowering my eyes. "I have to talk to you guys about something. And you guys have to swear that you won't hate me or burn me alive or anything."
"What's going on?" My father lowered his newspaper.
I cleared my throat, immediately regretted doing this. I should have thought about what I would say. I fidgeted with my fingers, and finally found the courage to look at them. "I think I'm..."
"You think you're what, honey?" My mother said, her expression becoming perturbed.
I swallowed hard. "Gay."
I lowered my eyes, avoiding they're gaze. My father stood up, placing his hand on my shoulder. "Why-what makes you think that?"
"Daniella."
"What about Daniella?" My mother chimed in, standing next to my father, crossing her arms.
"We..." I trailed off. "We are in love with each other."
My mother let out a faint gasp. "Honey, you're not gay."
"Yes, I am."
"Marion, let me tell you something," My father said. "Our family is very, very religious. You know that, right?" I nodded. "This is against our religion. Our religion doesn't believe in same-sex relationships."
"Well, I guess that could only mean I don't believe in God," I snapped, crossing my arms.
"But you have to! It's a family tradition!" My father raised his voice.
"But I don't," I rolled my eyes. "Just because I don't believe in God doesn't mean I'm a Satanist, okay? It's not like that. I get to believe in whatever the hell I want."
"Watch your tone, young lady!" My mother flared.
"I'm sorry, but if you don't support me for who I am, I guess I don't belong here," I stormed away, stomping upstairs and walking into my room, slamming the door behind me angrily. I fell on the bed and let all my tears out.
---
I slowly walked back to the bedroom where Jimmy was, grasping the pregnancy test tightly in my hand. I handed it to him once I approached him, waiting for him to react. Jimmy looked up at me, his eyes crinkled in disbelief. "This can't be right. Pregnancy tests aren't usually right the first time. Take another, like, tomorrow morning or something."
I massaged my temples, anxiety shooting off in my chest. "Please tell me this isn't happening."
"Hey," Jimmy stroked my face. "If you are pregnant, I will never leave your side. I will always be here to take care of you."
"I know, I'm just afraid my parents might disown me or something," I shoved the box of pregnancy tests under my mattress. "They'll probably burn me alive."
"You have too much on your mind. Just relax for a bit, okay?" I nodded.
As if on cue, my phone buzzed from my nightstand. I grabbed it and looked at the Caller I.D. It was Marion. I hit answer: "Marion, now isn't the best time."
"Please, I need to talk to you," She sounded like she was crying. "I told my parents."
My eyes widened. I hit speaker so Jimmy could hear. "And?"
"They said that they're against it because it's against the fucking bible."
"Gosh, I'm so sorry. That's so rude of them."
"Can I come over? I just really need someone right now."
I thought for a moment. I looked over to Jimmy. He shrugged. "Yeah, sure. And, if Daniella is around, can you pick her up on the way? There's something I gotta tell you guys."
"Yeah, sure. See you there."
"Bye," I hung up. I laid on my back, sucking in a breath.
"Marion has been going through so much lately," Jimmy murmured, mussing his hair. "I feel really bad."
"Me too, she doesn't deserve this."
---
15 minutes later
I heard a knock on the front door. I rushed down the stairs and opened it to Marion and Daniella. I let them in and led them upstairs to where Jimmy was. We all sat on the bed.
"You okay, Mari?" I asked her, holding her hand. She nodded, flashing a grin.
"So, what did you wanna talk to us about?" Daniella chimed in.
I sighed. I pulled the box of pregnancy tests out and took out the used one. I handed it to Daniella. Marion looked over her shoulder, and their eyes widened in unison.
"No, this can't be..." Marion gasped.
"They're not always right the first time. I'm gonna take another one tomorrow."
"Noel, if you're actually pregnant, we're always here when you need us, I hope you know that," Daniella said, smiling warmly.
"Thanks. I'm just so flipped right now. I mean, I guess it could be worse. I could still be in school."
"That's true," Jimmy said.
"And Marion, if you told your parents, I should too. And if they don't accept us for the love we have, then we can just move away," Daniella smiled, intertwining their hands. "Like, move to Italy or something."
I bit my lip. "You guys are so cute. And if your parents don't accept your love, screw them."
"Thanks," Marion murmured.
Someone's phone started chiming. Daniella reached in her pocket and pulled out her phone. "It's my mom, give me a sec," She started pacing around. "Hello?" Pause. "Woah, slow down," Pause. "Marion's parents told you what?" Pause. Daniella faced us.
My mom knows, she mouthed.

THERE'S A TORNADO 30 MINUTES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE AHHH
Anyways, do you think Noel's actually pregnant, or it's a false alarm?
Xo, Savannah
