2:47am

"This is not working out Lisa..." Jungkook sighed for the umpteenth time as he tried to console his weeping wife in his arms.

"We tried everything, there's nothing more to make this marriage work."

She sucked up the little pride she had to plead before him, to stay by her side.

"J-Jungkook...ah, please..."

"I'm sorry Lisa, but I think the divorce will be a better idea for both of us."

Lisa frantically sat up in shock, her heart pounding loudly against her chest. Her vision was disoriented, her chest rising up and falling down rapid and her face covered in cold sweat as she looked around, still puzzled whether she were in a dream or reality. Her gaze shifted to the person sleeping soundly next to her — her husband. His loud snores indicted he was in a heavy slumber, his face facing the other side, in the least interest to wake up.

This was the third time in a week she had the same nightmare, about the divorce. She was certain her husband had dearly loved her but now she reckoned if this nightmare was just a bad dream or foreshadowing to an event from the future. Lisa slipped out from the bed and wrapped a robe over her pyjamas before walking towards the balcony. With her phone in her hand, she decided the only right person to talk to in middle of the night.

"Ma...." She cried the first thing in a rasped voice.

"Oh, my God Lisa-yah are you okay? Why are you calling up this late —"

"I had a bad dream...about Jungkook wanting a divorce and it's occurring to me almost everyday...." She sniffled in a fit of crying as her mother asked her rhetorical question of all possible things Lisa could've ever imagined about.

"Dear, how long have you been married?"

"What sort of a question is this, I am asking you for a genuine help and you're...."

"Lisa."

"Alright, fine. We're a month away from our seventh year annive....shit!"

Lisa covered her mouth with her hand at the sudden realisation. Seven fucking years.

She felt being consumed in a very sickly, nauseous feeling as though her brain ridiculed her for not remembering it.

The only question that twirled in her head was the fact that she had forgotten: the infamous, seven year itch.

"Listen up to me my child, I think we should call a shaman to bless the house of all—"

"I'll talk to you later, good night Ma!" Lisa hurriedly cut the call, her throat felt dry as if she was yanked out of bubble of paradise into a realm of suffering.

〰️

The infamous seven year itch, which literally translated to, the ending of all marriages. It was the average time all the sweet and honey in the marriage would last; after which there is a sense of recession to the affection, the happiness and everything ceases without a scope for return.

This wasn't some myth or a made up taboo; Lisa believed it only because she had known that some of her close people had fallen prey to this curse. Be it in her own family — she recalled how her grandma used to sing praises of how Lisa's parents were destined to be in love, only for them to get into a nasty divorce after seven years of togetherness. Her best friend Jisoo broke up with her long time serious boyfriend after seven years of living together with him — her colleague Eunbi who called off her engagement a month ago after finding out that her fiancé had been cheating on her after seven years to their live-in relationship and lastly there was her boss Jongin, who had seen the same fate — he had an infamous history of divorcing thrice, all after seven years of marriage. Quite the coincidence, right?

Her mother, very superstitious, believed that this was an omen and these were all indicating that Lisa was next in line.

"Its that doomed number, seven." She would remember her mother recount; Lisa didn't believe in this at first, but slowly her faith narrowed after the statistical evidence that seven was cursed, seven was unlucky.

And by forgetting this, Lisa had somehow allowed this demon to erode her marriage for it to go into ruins one day.

〰️

The next morning, Lisa opened her eyes to a sizzling sound from the kitchen. She followed her way to the kitchen to the subconscious hum her husband made while he cooked breakfast.

"Pancakes for breakfast today, I'm getting a little late for work." He conveyed as he flipped the batter and Lisa nodded.

"Oh and I forgot to tell you, but I removed the gardener from the job this morning."

"Why would you do that?!" Lisa questioned in surprise as he scrunched his nose.

"I can't let the amateur guy ruin my poor babies, it hurts to see the mess he creates every time he steps foot into the garden."

"So you'll take care of them?"

"Of course, your mother was the one who gifted those plants to us for the new year and I think I might succeed in doing a better job by the year gets over." He says, the zeal of his gardening hobby twinkling in his eyes.

"Suit yourself." Lisa shrugged before dragging herself to the couch.

This was a typical day at the Jeon residence. Anyone would fail to believe that this thirty year old couple had been once deeply in love. Because fairly, they lived a peacefully mundane life, sharing conversations tagged as important as going grocery shopping to suffice food scarcity in the house, things happening at work, home decor, gardening and furbishing. Lisa surely agreed this minimalistic lifestyle had attracted boredom in the household — Jungkook was the peace loving, overprotective husband and Lisa was the lively, reckless wife.

They were compatible in a little too many incompatible scenarios. Others would find it unique, because an abstract pair like this had lasted seven years in this marriage — but maybe, it won't anymore. This home didn't seem necessarily peaceful, its walls echoed with sorrow of loneliness when nobody was around and Lisa was finding it difficult to hold onto everything together.

"Jungkook." She started, diving into the first bite, relishing the honey sweet flavour of the syrup.

"Hmm?" He asked, his eyes fixated on the phone, skimming through his office reports.

"I think we need to—" Lisa abruptly stopped at the voice of Jungkook's ringtone. She observed how his face lit up at the display of the name and he immediately excused himself from the room, leaving Lisa with a bundle of new thoughts sprouting in her head.

〰️

Seated in her office cabin, looking past articles, scrolling across websites, Lisa pulled her hair in frustration at some of the most bizarre advices available over the internet.

"Psychological report claims that almost most of the marriages that end in nasty divorces start with men driven to extra marital affairs in the seventh year of marriage." Lisa widened her eyes at the listed article, tracing her mind back to the incident this morning.

"No, that can't be true." She murmured as her conscience retorted, "What if it isn't?"

She went about the internet a little more, the articles filled with tons and tons of advices to keep the sex lives exciting, that was definitely unwanted and very unnecessary for her to know. Lisa struggled, fiddling with the smallest strand of ways she could keep her bond with Jungkook intact.

Because it wasn't just the expectations she was fighting for, it was her love for Jungkook whom she had cherished the most warmest moments of her life. She didn't want it to turn cold feet like the others had.

"I'm home." Jungkook trudged in, locking the door behind him.

"Welcome back!" Lisa enthusiastically greeted, spooning his torso in her arms, taking him by surprise.

"You're early today. Anything exciting?" Jungkook asked as he took off his shoes and relaxed on the couch.

"Nothing much, I'm the chef today."

"Oh, you're cooking today?"

"Uh-huh." She smiled with a nod. "So get refreshed before I showcase before you, my exquisite culinary skills."

"Sure madame."

Lisa read somewhere that food is the way to the heart. Even though she rarely stepped into the kitchen (because Jungkook believed she might burn the entire place down due to her forgetfulness and clumsy nature when it came to handling things), she could cook pretty decent and easy recipes and tonight was the time she worked her charms.

In theory, the very least.

The attempt of what seemed like a romantic candlelight dinner turned into a life threatening disaster when the tablecloth accidentally set ablaze and the grilled chicken tasted somewhat undercooked so Jungkook had to cook it again along with some instant ramen to sustain their burning hunger.

Lisa didn't give it up there; she didn't wear her usual on-sale cutesy pyjamas she wore to bed everyday, but a lacy satin robe to hide her naked frame — but it was unexpectedly too cold for the night and getting naked proved to be very unfortunate as the poor woman shivered and her teeth chattered. Jungkook couldn't help but gawk confusedly at his wife's unusual behaviour, before he curled up and took her trembling body into his embrace.

"Thanks for the dinner today. My arm was aching earlier and I wasn't sure if I could stay up and cook for us." Jungkook tried to alleviate the tension as Lisa snuggled close to him to prevent the cool breeze from making contact with her skin. "In the end you did end up cooking." She sighed embarrassingly.

He didn't respond and instead rubbed his feet against hers to make her feel warm, so Lisa decided to voice a question she had been pondering about for a while now.

"Jungkook. Do you think we should have a baby?"

She craned her neck to meet his astonished gaze as he blinked at her twice, examining how the question must've originated.

"I mean, we are to have babies someday right?"

"Why, yes. If you want to, we could plan a family." He replied, after a thought. "But I thought we agreed on the idea to clear off our mortgage and have saved enough before we were to have kids."

A vision formed before Lisa's eyes with the following thought.

Lisa was running around the house that had things scattered around here and there, small toys pricking her feet as she winced in pain.

"Baby no! Come to momma please?" She made an uwu face to woo the baby but to no avail. "Are you still not done Jungkook?" She tapped her feet looking visibly annoyed.

"No!" Came a voice from the other corner of the room. "I still can't find the diapers, I think we are out of stock!"

"Isn't that your responsibility as a father to restock them?"

"What?! I thought you bought them last week!"

"My God!"

Lisa violently shook her head sideways to quell the catastrophic intuition. His words did hold some element of truth.

Having kids was a laborious process, she had learnt from her mother despite being the only child.

So to make the marriage interesting kids might not be the best option. Because anything, it could make matters worse and prone to get a divorce. Just like how her parents had, but that discussion was for another day.

"Will you tell me what you've been thinking about?" Jungkook nudged her a little, as Lisa bit her lip, wondering if this was the right time to bring her worries up. Because if anything, he would just burst out laughing and it would definitely leave her discomfited.

"I was...uh...thinking....its been a while since we have done it."

"Huh? Done what?"

"It?! We haven't had sex. Maybe this is why I am getting reminded of the weird fantasies...."

"Fantasies? As in...?" Jungkook raised an intriguing brow, seemingly interested in the new topic of discussion they had in a while. Only prompting Lisa to continue.

"You know, explore new kinks. How about using blindfold and bondage?"

"We have done it until you realised you weren't into it, Lali."

"Then about using toys and whips?"

"One spank and you whine to take it off every time."

"Then how about three—" Jungkook glared at Lisa, already gesturing he didn't like sharing her with anyone else.

"Oh, right. Forget that I asked."

Lisa sighed, giving up before she turned to face her side of the bed as Jungkook frowned, suspecting a glare to know what had happened to her.

〰️

"Fuck baby..." Jungkook rasped out, before grabbing Lisa's face and kissed her once again, slowly prodding his tongue inside to dominate her lips.

Lisa fiddled with his pyjama shirt buttons in the dark, desperate to undress him after her, their eyes gleaming in nothing but dark lust. She groaned when Jungkook pulled her over him, her knees on either sides of his thighs in a way that she was now straddling him, while a gush of wetness ran down her sensitive core as it brushed against his erected dick.

Jungkook's arms lazily roamed around Lisa's body, before he rested them on her voluptuous hips, holding her in place; she lowered her torso as she sank down on his dick and both of them shuddered at the contact. Once Jungkook confirmed he had completely sheathed himself in her warmth, she slowly started riding him, with him guiding her with his hands. She paused at the feeling of being full, his tip brushing against her sweet spot at every thrust.

A sinister smirk grazed Jungkook's lips when he pistoned his hips and incessantly thrusted forward; though exhausted, Lisa couldn't control the urge but moan at the sensation. Pleasurable sparks of electricity shot down her spine as he rutted into her at a painfully slow pace, going deeper inside her with each rock of his hips. Lisa was now left drooling and groaning, moaning a number of soft, inaudible curses into his ear, a burn of embarrassment being quickly replaced by a haze of lust.

But Jungkook just wouldn't quit, she thought; he kept rocking his hips nice and slow inside her, making sure she could feel every curve of his dick as he admired how gracefully her back arched and she lusciously moaned, hips pressing down to the urge of feeling more. He didn't hesitate to speed up and his shallow thrusts coaxed themselves to a climax.

Everything was fun whilst it lasted — until she let those odd thoughts to run her down again. She came with a loud grunt, eyes rolled back and her walls clamped around his length, her cum oozing down her thighs as her legs quivered and he let out a satisfied groan. Lisa was relieved until she realised Jungkook hadn't manage to cum at all.

He observed her dwindling confidence, her expression growing pale and sad and under confident.

"Babe, everything alright?"

"I...uh...I am now g-good enough...I didn't mean to disappoint you...y-you c-couldn't cum...." she gulped, her voice cracking in a fit of crying as his gaze softened and he spooned her in his arms, drops of sweat coating their bodies.

"Uhm...don't say that. Maybe I'm just tired, hmm? C'mere."

Jungkook lifted Lisa's head with his thumb and guided it towards his lips, nibbling at her lower lip. He softly smiled through the kiss as an encouragement, his fingers entwined with hers and caressed the blonde locks falling over her temples, surrounding her face like a wall of a fortress.

He cuddled with her exhausted self to sleep, yet the nightmare swore to never let her at peace for once.

Another sleepless cold night and the haunting dreams after a night of vanilla love making.

〰️

The days that followed saw Lisa trying her best to brainstorm ideas to pry off from the curse. Over the due course of time she had come to realise that Jungkook and her were slowly getting older and less adventurous day by day. They weren't the young couple from the courting days, the honeymoon days — they even got married way early, at 23, and a dramatic addition of responsibilities only added to the problem.

So the folks on the internet who always said getting married at a young age was a mistake — could they have been right?

Her fingertips traced over the bright yellow diary with some sunflower doodling on its cover. She found it whilst cleaning the attic by accident, a few pages and bookmarks sticking out from the rusty pages and couldn't help but pitch in to go through the days when she was once a hopeless romantic.

Lisa skimmed through the pages, some photos from her yearbook, her old friends, photos of her celebrity crushes and some genuinely cringe worthy remarks bubbled underneath, the tickets from the various concerts and movies had been carefully taped along with a list of important entries. Anyone would've laughed at the way everything was arranged in this long forgotten old diary from her high school years, but Lisa remembered it as an insane period of madness and nostalgia.

Upon flipping a few more pages, Lisa came across a section of bucket lists, about vacationing, travelling, cooking and what not. But there was one checklist that caught her attention — An ultimate couple bucket list, which included seven 'fun' activities she would do with her future boyfriend/husband, some of which already marked completed.

1. Receive flowers on my doorstep.✓

Lisa remembered the faint memory of Jungkook sending her flowers once under a cryptic name of Justin Seagull, around the time they had newly started dating in college. The flowers were anonymously found in her locker — the inviting scent of fresh smelling magnolias offered a sense of semblance to a day she had rued. Not exactly the 'doorstep' she had hoped for, but the sweet note attested with the bouquet was special enough to be treasured between the pages in her diary.

2. Try the Disney spaghetti kiss. *must try*

As an avid fan of Disney movies since her childhood, Lisa had always loved the infamous spaghetti kiss from The Lady and The Tramp. She had tried to recreate the iconic scene with her beau when they were once on a date to an Italian restaurant. It was a hell of a difficult task to convince him and get past his reluctance to try it.

"For whatever you are thinking, stop it right then and there. My answer is a no." Jungkook stared at the single bowl of spaghetti his girlfriend ordered at the restaurant.

"It will be so oh-so romantic Koo! We'd be just like those two dogs from the film!" Jungkook looked past her pleading eyes.

"We are so not doing this here." He looked around, the gazebo-like place being crowded and the idea of PDA nauseated him.

"B-but how can you not wish to try the infamous spaghetti kiss?"

"Because I never considered it in the first place. Yeah, I would have still agreed if we were at home. But this, in public is nothing but gross."

"Okay then, I'll ask them to pack it, as you wish." Lisa calmly replied as Jungkook passed her a surprised glare.

"Damn, were you always this determined?"

"However you like to put it." Lisa winked as a scarlet hue formed on Jungkook's cheek when she kissed the spot on his cheek.

3. Confession under the stars.~✓

Lisa smiled at this particular memory, the strongest and loviest of all moments she had enjoyed with Jungkook. She briefly stated she loved going stargazing, so Jungkook planned a date to a planetarium — where he planned to profess his love under the stars. It didn't turn out the way it was perfectly imagined, particularly because the velvety ring box tumbled out of his pocket without his notice and the two had to first look around the entire place before Jungkook scrambled to one knee to ask for her hand.

4. Cliff jump while holding hands. *dangerous*

Lisa laughed at the mention of the asterisk marked 'dangerous', but the memory of her honeymoon threw her back into the phase of nostalgia. Jungkook had adventurously decided to try this activity when they went trekking, but unfortunately Lisa ended up having severe palpitations after bungee jumping from a real height so she had to stay in the resort till the next day, cuddled up in Jungkook's arms in an epitome of romance.

Although most of the activities were completed in the list, there still seemed to be an ambiguity with the last of the three activities mentioned.

5. Receive a love letter!

6. Slow dance in the rain *must try*

7. Be serenaded in the moonlight~

Lisa almost barfed at the listed points. Jungkook wasn't into the classic way of romance which included writing love writers or serenading her. Moreover, he would straight up reject the idea of dancing in the rain, because he hated it; he always called in sick after being trapped in the rain and in no possible ways was he going to try it. His idea of love was rather abstract — play video games all day long, stay cuddled up in the bed, netflix and chill, watch the sunset from the window and cook together — the tasks they did periodically almost every weekend or on their day offs.

Just when Lisa was about to keep the diary into its place, she suddenly tugged at it, a feeling of not letting go surfaced at the back of her head. Perhaps if she could complete the remaining things on the list, maybe it would improve chances of saving her marriage from falling off.

She clutched it tightly before delicately closing the attic door behind her as she left.

〰️

"Koo, you remember the time we used to write notes to each other?" Lisa asked in midst of a short break as they binge watched a new netflix series.

"Uh...yes, vaguely I do." He pushed himself more into the comforter, to shield against the cool breeze of the aircon.

"Then you wouldn't hesitate to write a letter, would you?"

Jungkook blinked twice in surprise at Lisa at the sudden question.

"What is it you want me to write? And to whom do I have to write again?"

"To me, your wife of course. Whatever you wish to let me know about." Lisa's eyes were hopeful as she gazed at her husband, leaning in to grab a piece of pizza they had ordered a while back.

"You already know everything." He said, his voice muffled with food stuffed in his mouth. "If there's anything you want to know I could just say it here, or if there's some paperwork you need I'll send the attested docs via mail. So...?"

Lisa heaved a long sigh, as if his confrontation was a slap on her face. "No worries, I'll just go take a nap."

Jungkook glanced at she trudged back into her room, disappointment evident in her eyes. He wasn't sure if the disappointment was directed at her or him, but he didn't bother to ask, though it did worry him a little. Maybe she wanted her space and if she did have anything to ask she could approach him herself.

〰️

It was Saturday afternoon and Jungkook and Lisa were returning back home from grocery shopping. Dark clouds hovered over the sky and soon enough, raindrops pattered against the car's windows.

"See I was telling you, we shouldn't have taken the right turn from there, seems like we're lost now." Lisa let out.

"Lali, check the way out from your GPS please? I can't catch a signal in my phone and I'm worried it will rain heavily." Jungkook asked as he drove along the deserted road, trying to look for any navigation boards nearby.

Lisa nodded and looked into her phone, when a bright alert flashed from her memory — she paused and looked at Jungkook, who was rather puzzled, before her lips twitched into a smile.

"How about we go outside?"

Jungkook's face grew pale as though he had been constipated for weeks. "No way—"

"Come on Koo, don't be a grumpy oldie." She unbuckled her seatbelt and stepped out, before walking towards Jungkook's side and dragged his arm. The man protested, yanking her hand away and obviously not impressed with his wife's childish ideas either. Lisa finally succeeded when she applied a swift force and boom! Jungkook was finally standing outside the car, his clothes getting drenched by the downpour of the pelting rain.

Jungkook's face was in completely the opposite of Lisa's: his glasses getting wet, the checkered shirt sticking to his body as he pulled the fabric up till his elbow, his lips snouty and puffed and eyes slightly rheumy as though he looked visibly mad. Lisa was more energetic as she clutched his hands with hers tightly and led him to a safe distance from the car so that he doesn't run back.

She grinned wide, moving in circles as if they were kindergarten students jiggling nursery rhymes.

"We'll fall sick and I don't wanna shower again!" Jungkook whined, his body melting away in the fluidity as Lisa began to twirl around him like a little doll.

"We'll drop by a medical store and fetch meds." Lisa giggled and Jungkook spanked her before pulling her petite frame close to his. She stepped on her toes and gave him a quick peck on his lips; although Jungkook didn't reciprocate so as to put his unwillingness in the forefront, he did secretly enjoy, maybe just a little bit.

"Great....I'll have to send the car for servicing once again for my wife's brilliancy in madness." Jungkook let out an exasperated sigh when he mocked Lisa about the incident.

"But having fun, that was the point!"

"Just get away from my sight Lali, I can't have you making anymore mess for me." Jungkook exclaimed, before he slowly pushed her towards the bathroom to take a shower.

"Mess? You think everything I did was a mess?"

"I'm not in a mood to argue—"

"You didn't enjoy the weather out there it means, you literally just ignore my word whenever I ask if we could go out somewhere, you just like living in your bubble like a homebody."

"Lisa please, you know for sure how much I hate going out in the rain. I just complied for grocery shopping, and now I have to technically mop the floor for you decided that dancing in the rain was a nice idea."

Lisa scoffed unbelievably, as a way to retort back. "Don't you see the grey in my hair, the hopelessness in my eyes? Am I putting up a dumb show, is that what you think? Gosh, you don't realise the littlest of efforts I'm trying to put in?!"

"Lali I—" Jungkook was left even more confused in the little argument as Lisa stomped off into the study from across the hallway. He immediately lamented for lashing out at her, but he was demented in worry; Lisa wasn't acting like her usual self for the past week and something was suspiciously weird about her these days. Something that he would've helped in finding a solution to, had he been a little sooner in addressing his concern.

〰️

Lisa tried to pry her mind off from thinking about her argument with Jungkook but it was nothing more than a frail attempt, because she was kept constant try reminding of his words. He couldn't even take a slightest guess and she was making a fool of herself to even think that those unfinished tasks were to bring out any spice in this already mundane marriage.

Her gaze fell on her wedding ring that reflected from the hourglass placed before her, that only warned her that she was falling short of time. She diverted her mind by focusing on her office paperwork, but after taking a shower she felt dizzy and lazy to concentrate and soon enough, she dozed off to sleep on her desk, her muscles stretched out of fatigue.

Jungkook knocked twice on the study door before barging in, only to find her sleeping soundly although ironically, she had developed dome stress lines on her forehead, probably from last week when the drama surfaced. He sighed, before lifting her in his arms and carried her to their shared bedroom and laid her there and left to the study to arrange her papers. But while doing so, a little notebook slipped out from the scattered sheets of paper. An old notebook with worn out pages. Curious to know why the book was oddly placed in between the stacks, he erred to take a look.

A bookmark was peeking out from one of the pages where a list of to-do things were mentioned, the same couple's bucket list with most of the tasks scratched in the checklist.

For a moment Jungkook scoffed at the unusualness but slowly after coming to a certain realisation, his lips curved into a small smile.

〰️

By the time Lisa opened her eyes, it was already evening, the sun had now taken up a bright red colour as it was about to set in just a couple minutes more. She didn't realise when she had dozed off, but she certainly felt better and the throbbing headache seemed to fade away; it was the first time in many days she had slept ever so soundly. She shifted a little before she sat up to rub her eyes, when she glanced at the uncanny silence around the house; particularly the time when there wasn't anyone except her.

Jungkook left her two text messages about a quarter hour back, one asking her to have the soup he left her at the counter and the other informing her he was over Yoongi's place. Lisa was utterly puzzled, but still chose to comply anyway; she didn't have enough strength to start another argument with him, especially it was her fault for lashing out at him for his ignorance.

Just when she was about to leave the kitchen after doing the dishes, she found an unfamiliar envelope lying on the dining counter below a paperweight. What was more interesting was the fact that it didn't have an address nor any postal stamps on it — but it did have her name in smooth cursive.

Her breathed hitched when she sat on her side of the bed and ripped open the envelope to get a view of the letter — she could immediately guess it was Jungkook's handwriting.

ㅡ✗ㅡ

My dear wife Lisa

This is me, your husband, Jeon Jungkook.

When you asked about writing a letter to each other I wasn't really sure of what to write here because I feel our relationship is established and we're so close to never hide our discomfort. But on your insistence I gave it a thought, about how I managed to find a beloved gem like you in this world of nearly seven billion humans coexisting with us. Even though I get annoyed when you burn or overcook my ramen and make a pitiful mess of the kitchen I still wonder what my life would have been without you. I can't believe we are nearing our seventh wedding anniversary in two weeks because it feels like we met only some days back. Sometimes waking up with you by my side feels like a surreal dream that I never wish to get up from. You still look like the young Lisa from university I first fell in love with.

Thank you for all the memories and remember I love you.

ㅡ✗ㅡ

Jungkook hadn't always been a great guy with words, like he used to complain back in the schooling days as well. His words were concise and his feelings weren't descriptive. But it didn't have to matter, because Lisa teared up after reading the letter over and over again. A lump of happiness pooled up in her throat and her eyes welled up at the overwhelming feeling of being loved.

Just when she was having a hard time to deal with the overflowing emotions, a loud knock on the window that scared the wits out of her. With a tensing heartbeat, she rushed over only to find her husband under the pale moonlight — standing by the window base.

"What are you doing here? Come in!" She opened the latched and pulled him inside, confusion painted across her face.

"What...wh...how? How did you climb over?"

"I asked our neighbour Taehyun, he lives downstairs so he got a ladder to get me in."

"Are you out of your mind? You could've simply entered from the door."

"Firstly, I thought I could play you some music from down there, but we have neighbours who would get cranky. And second, I was trying to be cool."

"I am sure you wouldn't look cool in the hospital bed with broken limbs. Do you know your bone density reduces after 30?" Lisa crossed her arms for a rational explanation.

"Are you trying to insinuate I'm old?" Jungkook widened his eyes in pretended shock.

"We're both 30 now, stupid. And woah — who's guitar is that?" Lisa asked about the acoustic guitar slung over his body.

"It's Yoongi Hyung's. He asked me to positively return it back tomorrow."

"But why would you even need that?"

"Because I got something to show you—" Jungkook paused at the sound of thunder at a distance, before it started to rain all over the neighbourhood.

"Not again." He grumbled. "I wanted to play something nice."

"You can still do it. The rain sets the mood."

Jungkook frowned at the audacity of Lisa to love the rain so much, but instead chose to ignore it.

He sat by the windowsill, the moonlight shining behind him, dimly reaching the window due to the obvious patter of the raindrops. He tuned his guitar before strumming a chord.

He then warmed up a bit and stretched his shoulders before picking the guitar again and started playing a tune, one that Lisa had never heard before.

"That faint voice of yours that grazed me

Please call my name one more time"

"I'm standing still under the frozen light, but

I will walk towards you, step by step

Still with you"

There was something angelic in his voice that always caught her attention — Lisa was certain she had never heard this song before — neither in her playlist nor his — but chose not to stress about it, and rather savour his golden voice amidst the pouring rain that set lighting to the mood.

"Though our footsteps may be out of step

I want to walk this path with you

Still with you"

"I composed this sometime back, hyung helped me write it. It was actually a gift for our seven year anniversary but I thought about spoiling it before the actual date." Jungkook exclaimed after finishing his self composed ballad.

"I found your letter and now this...why would you do that?"

Jungkook doesn't answer but simply lifts the guitar off him and encircles his arms around Lisa's waist and pulls her into a slow, heartwarming kiss.

"I may or may not have read your diary earlier." He whispered against her lips when he pulled away, earning a shocked stare from Lisa as though she realised she was just caught.

"If you would've told me you wanted to try those things mentioned in your wish list I would've done it a long time back. But still, I would try to fulfil the other things as well. Do you even realise how much you got me worried when you were so off these days?" He scolded her in a mocking tone, imitating their argument from earlier.

Jungkook safely tucked the guitar away and tugged at Lisa's arm to seat her next to him on the bed. "It wasn't for the sake of the wishlist." Lisa fidgeted with her fingers to come up with a coherent response and avoid looking at him in the eye.

"We were nearing our seven year anniversary right? I might sound very deluded but....I was worried you might leave me. For the seven year itch."

"The seven what?" Jungkook knitted his brows in confusion at the mention of the phrase as Lisa hastened to explain.

"Its like this phase in a relationship when the person finds their partner boring and after that they just divorce. Remember my parents, my boss and some of our friends even separated after seven years of being together? So I was worried you might too..."

"Lisa, can you tell me how long did we date before getting married?"

"Yeah, two."

"So we've been together for a total of nine years, we already survived your 'curse' thing two years ago." He warmly smiled as Lisa finally resided the thought.

In a way, he was right. "Now if you please, I'd like you to know that I don't plan to divorce you, Mrs Jeon Lalisa. You're too amazing and I can assure you that I would never get bored of you."

Lisa moulded against her chest as she quietly whispered. "Really?"

"Yes. I know we married at a very tender age and there's people criticising every single change in the society. But when we made our vows on our wedding day, I was certain that you are the one and it shall never change for a fact."

"B-but then you seemed to be busy on your work, I thought you already found someone new."

Jungkook paused for a moment, before he slid away from Lisa's embrace and closed the curtains before standing before her. He then pulled his sweatshirt over his head before shoving it off somewhere on the floor as Lisa gawked at his chiseled frame, her gaze fixed on his tattooed arm as she notice of her name on it.

"Wait when did you—"

"I doodled a design last week and sent it to Park Jimin. He's a tattoo artist who lives a few blocks away."

Lisa traced the portion of his arm where her name was inked as Jungkook moved his lips in an incorrigible manner, a little shy to form a response.

"Uh....I don't know what to say about this. Thank you, for loving me so much, Koo. I must be really stupid to not realise these little ways you do to express your love. I....I just love you so much."

"Now, all I just want you to know that you're the most perfect significant other I could wish for. So always stay like that, hmm?"

"Yes." She shyly nodded.

〰️

The dim lights dispersed itself throughout the room, Lisa's honey brown orbs were fixed on Jungkook's onyx ones that seemed to have an enchanting effect on her.He crawled to the bed as she pushed herself till her head touched the base of the headboard. Her lips pressed against his and he didn't mind to deepen it, craving for more.

"You need to say it if you want it." He said after pulling apart, heartbeats impossibly fast.

"I want it." Lisa gushed. "I want you to make love to me."

He smirked, before singlehandedly grabbing both of her wrists that eased the process of slipping her top out of her torso. Once both were half naked, Jungkook leaned in and placed warm kisses down the length of her shoulder, all the way up to her neck, her jawline and forehead.

"You're still the same the first I saw you. Ever so beautiful like a goddess." His eyes bore into her naked body with utmost care when she shyly covered her exposed chest. Her hands tirelessly Ade their way down to pull down his sweatpants down his hips before he slid his hands and undressed her too until they were both naked once again. Lisa eyed his thick length in trepidation as if it were her first time having sex; soon enough she shuddered in pleasure when he aligned himself at her entrance and slid the entirety of his length inside her wet, plush folds.

"You're so f-fuck-ing tight baby..." He grunted and she calmed against his touch, tears brimmed her eyes as she accommodated to his length.

His heavy breaths tickled her soft jugular, his tip nudging her cervix. Occasionally moaning, his deep voice was met by her soft whimpers when he slowly thrusted in. The subtle pleasure was rising gradually once Jungkook picked up his momentum, kissing her gently as she moaned in his mouth.

With all the encouragement and consent he needed, he started pounding away, hypnotised at the feeling of lust and the dazed expression that coated Lisa's face. His hips pistoned as he plunged forward, the thrusts getting sloppier by the minute.

Lisa's face was flushed as she clenched around his length making it almost impossible to move inside her, indicating that their climax was near.

"Jungkoo—mmmh...." A number of sinful moans left Lisa's lips and a tangible knot formed in her stomach, her body seized by the orgasm that washed over her and she smiled beatifically.

"I'm close Koo..."

"Me too baby, me too."

A tear trickled down her ruddy cheek as she came undone all over him as he continued his sweet torture. Soon enough Lisa could feel Jungkook's tip twitch inside her as it breached against her sweet spot when he moaned softly and released his ropes of cum inside her, filling her insides with a gush of molten warmth and her body writhed underneath him in distress after which he slipped out of her.

"What if I get pregnant?" Lisa asked heavily panted, trying to catch her breath when Jungkook chortled before he nipped on her ear playfully.

"I wouldn't mind raising a baby with you, my dear."

Jungkook further nestled onto the crook of Lisa's neck and she relaxed completely in his embrace, her legs tangled with his beneath the fuzzy comforter as he pressed a final kiss to her jawline.

"You'd totally make a great furnace for our baby and his daddy."

"Ah, is that so Daddy Jeon?" She snickered when he hummed in response.

"Yes." He peppered kisses all over her skin. "I love you so much, Jeon Lalisa."

FIN.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Plot origins:

The idea of writing this one shot was based over a short prompt of a downhill marriage that was requested by someone that I don't remember now. So mostly it is inspired from an incident my cousin narrated after she felt insecure of herself after four years of marriage and how she tried to sort it with her husband. Also, some references were picked up from real life incidents on reddit under anonymous mentions.

Fair warning:

I wasn't intending to include smut(s) here at all. But later I thought about giving it a shot and fyi this is the first time I have written a smut in my lifetime so please forgive me if it was not good lmao.

Also I don't mean to sexualise the idols for anyone who's asking, this is just a fiction so please have the guts to handle mature scenes if you are agreeing to read a fan fiction as well.

Word of thanks:

This oneshot was initially intended to go in my liskook oneshots book but it ended up being a separate book lol :')

Anyways I hope y'all didn't get bored with the significant drag in this helluva long one shot and lemme know if I should try writing more lengthy one shots like these!◡̈
