It's Not Unusual
You woke up suddenly in a cold sweat. You tumbled out of bed and as soon as you hit the floor, the alcohol from last night came up. It was not a pretty sight. However, this wasn't the only thing. Your stomach was ripping itself apart, your throat was suffocating and you felt on fire. You brought a hand up to your mouth as another sudden rush tried to escape. Your door crashed into the wall as it flung open. Elizabeth stood in the hallway with a sleepy Hawk.
Elizabeth: (Y/n)!
Elizabeth rushed forward and knelt at your side. You were violently shaking and it was hard to move. The only thing you could imagine was you were sick, but this was intense. You could feel this pain in your bones and your muscles seemed to refuse orders. You tried to lean upwards, but this led to more of last nights partying to rise up and spew on the floor. Elizabeth pets your back and you could only guess at what Hawk was doing as you looked at the ground. Your throat and nose felt scorched and your head was in the midst of a hangover migraine. Lucky you! Your eyes watered as you managed to pick yourself up without losing your dinner and fell onto the bed. You couldn't think of anything other than sleeping through this agony as your eyes closed and the questions of Elizabeth fell on silent ears.
Timeskip.
A wet cloth was on your forehead as your eyes slid open. You were under a think blanket and your clothes had been replaced with a fresh pair. Then again you had only been wearing pants so it wasn't much of a change. But then who changed them... Guess we'll never know. You looked up and met the worried gaze of Elizabeth.
(Y/n): Elizabeth?
Elizabeth: (Y/n) you're awake!
(Y/n): Yeah just let me-
You attempted to shift into a sitting position, but the silver-haired girl refused to let up and placed her palm on your chest pushing you back into the bed gently.
Elizabeth: You must stay in bed! You have a high fever and you can't keep anything down. It's best you stay in bed until the fever breaks.
You chuckled slightly, though you regretted it immediately as your head throbbed.
(Y/n): I've been a mercenary, an assassin, and in more bar fights than I can count and a simple cold is what takes me down? I can't but laugh at myself.
The door opened and in walked one Meliodas.
Meliodas: Hey (N/n). Are you feeling better yet?
Elizabeth: His fever still hasn't broken.
Meliodas: I know you're worried Elizabeth, but we need to go.
Elizabeth: But-
Meliodas: It'll be alright. (N/n) is a big boy and a simple cold won't keep him down for long. Heck, he might even meet us out there.
(Y/n): I can't keep up and Meliodas clearly needs you Elizabeth. You can check on me later.
Elizabeth: A-Are you sure?
(Y/n): Yeah I just need some sleep. Good luck.
You yawned and rested your head to the side. You wanted to know what was going on, but you didn't need to worry the others by asking too many questions or pushing yourself too hard.
Elizabeth: I will visit you later (Y/n)!
(Y/n): Alright...
You grew more tired with each word as your eyes slid closed and you entered a dreamless sleep.
Timeskip.
You yawned loudly as you pulled yourself up. Your muscles ached but clearly, sleep had helped you. you managed to make it to your feet and lean against the wall. You moved along the wall either due to the cold or just being lazy in general. You reached the door and pulled it open, stepping out into the hall of the quiet tavern. Pulling from your memory, you remembered your last conversation. You continued onward until your stomach rumbled. Since the majority of your dinner was thrown up, it would be nice to have a meal. You pushed off the wall and gripped your stomach which demanded food. You reached the bottom of the stairs and stopped. You stood in an alleyway.
(Y/n): What the-
???: You jerk!
You glanced to the side before fully turning and widening your eyes at the sight. You stared at the back of Jericho. In front of her was you. Of course, you were still a mercenary at the time and wasn't as devilishly handsome from battle scars yet. You gripped your head, which still felt rather warm and leaned back to find your back pressed up against a wall. This was clearly a dream or illusion.
Jericho: It's not funny!
Or it was a nightmare...
Illusion (Y/n): Come on Darling! Why is this a big deal?
Jericho: We are too young! And I have something I need to do...
Illusion (Y/n): What's your problem with your brother?
Jericho: I have to prove myself-
Illusion (Y/n): You're a smart and wonderful girl. You have nothing to prove!
Jericho: I have to prove him wrong!
Illusion (Y/n): There's no point.
Jericho: What?
Illusion (Y/n): You're only an apprentice at this point and your brother has a sizeable headstart. Why just leave this delusion behind and say yes to me.
Jericho: How dare you call this a delusion. I have to do this for my father!
Illusion (Y/n): Why?! You don't have anything to prove to him!
Jericho was fuming at this point. She was always the angry type, but it added to her adorableness.
Jericho: Because I know what it's like to want to achieve for a father! Unlike...
Your illusion stared at her wide-eyed, your mouth slightly open in disbelief. This quickly faded into pure anger.
Illusion (Y/n): Why don't you finish that sentence?
Jericho: (Y/n) I-I didn't-
Illusion (Y/n): Finish the sentence.
Jericho:... Unlike you.
Your Illusion nodded his head and gave a deep frown. Then it snapped.
Illusion (Y/n): You know Jericho, I can withstand a lot of attacks from enemies, but this hurts on a whole other level. You want to run off and play soldier to upstand your F***ing brother? Fine! I'll leave you to it. Wouldn't want to distract you now would I?
Your illusion turned and tried to walk off, but Jericho pounced and gripped your shoulder.
Jericho: W-What do you mean?!
Illusion (Y/n): Wouldn't want to keep you from achieving for your father. So consider this goodbye darling. Speak to me again when you finally realize you don't have anything to prove alright? Goodbye.
Your illusion walked off but paused at the exit to the alley. It reached into its shirt and pull out a small box. It tossed the box behind it and walked off. Jericho reached for the box and opened it slowly before letting out a sob. You clenched your head as you slid back against the wall. You gripped your growing headache and clenched your eyes shut. As you opened them again you found the actual tavern. You sat against the wall of the tavern breathing in deeply to calm yourself down. As you rested your head you felt a slight rumble. The rumble grew louder and more powerful as if they were giant steps. Wait.... giant...
???: Thank you for finding me, Captain!
You blinked and used your knee as support bring yourself to a standing position. You walked to the window and gazed out it. Three figures and a pig approached. Who were you kidding the child looking one and the girl figure were obviously Meliodas and Elizabeth, but you smiled as you saw the rather large figure walk closer to the tavern. You pushed open the door to the tavern and leaned against the door. Approaching the door was the Sin of Envy, Diane! She was speaking to Meliodas and Elizabeth so you spoke up to catch her attention.
(Y/n): Long time no see Diane!
She paused her conversation and looked at you. She scanned the tavern before her eyes met your (E/c) ones. She blushed and moved a pigtail in front of her face.
Diane: C-Captain... who is your cute friend?
She tried to whisper, but with her size, you heard it quite clearly.
Meliodas: It's (N/n) all grown up!
Diane's eyes widened in shock as she looked you over once more. You wondered what brought on the sudden attention from her when you remembered the only attire you had on at the moment was your pants. Revealing your body to the world, but more importantly Diane and Elizabeth.
Diane: Wait... (Y/n)?!
(Y/n): Hey there Diane!
The girl approached quickly and you nearly fell from the vibrations, but she picked your up in her hands and rubbed your against her cheek, just like when you were a child.
Diane: I'm so happy to see you (Y/n)!
She moved you from her cheek as she rested her hands, pressed together side by side, in front of her with you standing in the middle.
Diane: E-Especially since the last time we saw each other.
Diane blushed again.
(Y/n): I would love to talk with you more, but I'm still rather weak from sickness and I want to get a shirt on.
Diane made an aww sound before setting you on the ground and pet your head with her finger. You waved at her and noticed Elizabeth out of the corner of your eye. She was blushing, probably cause of a certain someone's nudity, but she seemed frustrated that Diane had been staring at you the way she had. At this point, you were too tired from the illusion and seeing Diane to care about a jealous princess so you walked back inside to return to the comfort of your bed. This day was considerably boring, but with Diane here maybe things would get more interesting!
