We helped the surviving prisoners make it out of the rubble. I could tell there were some citizens talking about us, I heard them cheering, but couldn’t quite make out what they said. When we reached the Doctor’s house we took off Diane’s bag and placed it on the ground to take Elizabeth inside.

Me: Elizabeth, how are you feeling?

Elizabeth: Y/n, Lord Meliodas, Lady Diane. What about Lord Ban and… Miss Cenette… and Hawk got hit, too…

Me: You always cared about more than you did yourself.

Meliodas: Ban and Cenette came back with us too.

Elizabeth: Then… does Miss Cenette know about what happened to Dr. Dana?

Meliodas: Yeah, we told her everything.

Elizabeth: Lord Meliodas… I… will be fine… can you go with… Miss Cenette?

Meliodas: Got it.

Diane: I’ll look after you along with Y/n.

Me: Ban! Don’t ditch us already!

Ban: I'm going to the toilet

I then heard screaming from inside the house where the doctor was. Instinctively I ran inside thinking something was wrong. When I got inside I saw a man sitting up on a bed hugging Miss Cenette.

Me: What happened?

Hawk: HE CAME BACK TO LIFE!!!

Me: Wait what? How?

Doctor: It’s embarrassing, but even I, a doctor, have no idea what happened.

Nurse: When the townspeople found him unconscious and carried him back here, he was definitely stabbed through his chest. I thought he was a goner for sure.

Doctor: Take a look at this

As the Doctor said that he removed his shirt, revealing a large scar on his chest pointing to where his heart was.

Hawk: It’s the same thing that happened with Meliodas’ wound!! The wound completely closed itself neatly!!

Doctor: Meliodas… you’ve realized this, right? The sword wound on your shoulder, the deadly poison… none of them had any effect on you.

Cenette: Enough about that. Why did my father get nearly killed by the Holy Knight? And why did I have to be locked up in the dungeon!?

Doctor: I was threatened by the Holy Knights. Using you as a hostage, they forced me to kill the Seven Deadly Sins. With the excuse that I was trying to save you, I was about to kill this young man…

Cenette: No… it’s not your fault, father!! Isn’t it all these people’s fault!? Everyone in the kingdom knows that the Seven Deadly Sins are criminals!!

Doctor: Listen to me! He never blamed me, and he even rescued you… how many people in this kingdom do you think would stand up against the Holy Knights without hesitation!?

After a few moments of silence, the doctor put his shirt back on and broke the silence.

Doctor: When are you leaving this town?

Meliodas: Tomorrow, or at the latest, the day after tomorrow…

Me: The kingdom won’t stay quiet since Baste Dungeon was Leveled… especially since there were survivors.

Doctor: Then at least let me thank you by giving you all a meal.

Meliodas: Alright, I’ll take you up on your offer.

Hawk: Please, no poison this time.

Me: if it makes you feel better Hawk, I’ll help the Doc cook.

After a few hours, the sun had set, and we had a feast, fit for a king, and we all enjoyed a great time. I was sitting next to a bed which Elizabeth was lying in, Hawk sat next to me, Ban was using a barrel of mead as a seat, Diane stood behind us, and Meliodas stood in front of us.

Meliodas: Well then Elizabeth. I’ll introduce him again. This is the Fox’s Sin of Greed, Ban.

Ban: ‘Ellooooo, nice to meet ya.

Meliodas: Where did those clothes come from?

Ban: How could I be naked before the Princess? I found these lying around.

Me: That makes some sense, seeing as the clothes are a little small.

Ban: Come to think of it, it’s been a while Diane.

Diane: I would have been okay with not seeing you for another hundred years, though.

Elizabeth: I’m Elizabeth… please forgive me… for greeting you in this state

Ban: No need, princess. We Sins don’t care much for rank or politeness.

Me: Well, I am Y/n, Holy Knight, and guardian of Elizabeth.

Ban: Let’s all five of us get along, shall we?

Hawk: It’s the six of us. SIX!

Ban: Don’t be silly, Cap’n. Of course it’s five of us!

Hawk: But you sure are a freaky bastard. You leave your allies and get caught and thrown into the dungeon on purpose, just because you were bored. And once you realize your allies are alive, you bust yourself out… and level the whole place. Aren’t the screws in your head a little too loose?

Ban: Who the hell are you?

Hawk: It’s me!!

Ban took a solid second before processing what happened. When he did process the events, he fell off of his barrel.

Ban: This pig can taaaaaaaalk!!?

Hawk: Why is that freaking you out!?

Ban: No waaaay!? A pig that can talk like a person!!? What’s the point of a pig being able to talk!!? I thought it was for Diane’s food!

Hawk: Why do all of you always make me into a food pig!? Listen well. I’m not just any pig!! I am Hawk, Captain of the Knights of Leftover Cleanup!!!

Meliodas: And here we have a pig starting to believe his own delusions.

Doctor: Everyone! Please eat as much as you want!

Diane: Are you sure it’s okay?

Doctor: Of course! Don’t be shy!

Me: Lady Diane, I’m sorry that you have to eat standing up.

Diane: Don’t worry, I like being able to eat with everyone!

We then spent the night having a great time eating and drinking. After getting drunk, Ban started to ride Hawk as a horse, Meliodas fed Elizabeth and Diane. After helping Ban, who apparently can’t hold his liquor, who now calls Hawk Master, Diane and Elizabeth started talking. I didn’t eavesdrop, however I was resting near the bed.

Elizabeth: It’s been a while since I had fun like this… I wish this moment could last forever… but… this has reminded me of just how frighteningly powerful the Holy Knights are, and that only the Seven Deadly Sins can stand up to them.

Diane: Princess, I don’t know anything about humans or human’s countries and to be honest, I’m not really interested, either… but.

Elizabeth: But?

Diane: I wouldn’t mind fighting for you, because you were really cool today.

Elizabeth: I… I didn’t do anything!

Me: GAH!! *Raises fists* What’s happening?

Diane: Don’t push yourself! You said you don’t have any powers… but you do. The power to move the hearts of Captain and me.

Me: Besides, Elizabeth, you risked your life to dave that kid, yeah he turned out to be a Holy Knight, but you showed a deep care for those in need of help.

Diane: Hey, Princess?

Elizabeth: Yes?

Diane: ‘Elizabeth.’ Can I just call you that?

Elizabeth: Of course!!

At this point, I had gotten up and walked to the Doctor to thank him while Diane and Elizabeth discussed formalities.

Me: Doc, I want to say thank you for providing us with this feast.

Doctor: Please, I don’t need any thanks, I did this for you all for helping my daughter. But I have to ask, are the youngsters really criminals?

Me: Unfortunately, they are branded as so.

Doctor: What an absurd lie. Just what are the Holy Knights Scheming?

Me: It involved a coup. That’s all I could find out, since I had to leave with Elizabeth.

Doctor: And on top of that, the miraculous healing of my body, and the miraculous protection of that young man, Meliodas, a mysterious power that can’t be seen by the naked eye… no… I feel the presence of an immeasurably great will.

Me: I can feel it too, Elizabeth has that effect on people.

Cenette: Father, look at the skies!!

Me: Wow, that is beautiful.

Doctor: This… is like that stanza from one of the ancient poems of Britannia.

This caught everyone's attention having them look towards the sky, revealing two groups of falling stars, creating a cross in the sky.

Doctor: When the skies are filled with crossing shooting stars, Britannia will be visited by an immense menace. It is an omen of the beginning of a trial of ancient origins, a Holy War between the guiding hand of light and the bloodline of darkness.

After hearing the legend, I noticed that everyone else had fallen asleep.

Me: Thanks for the interpretation Doc, poetry isn’t my strong suit. It seems that way for everyone else.

Sorry this is short, exams were this week, and I've focused on other things, especially graduation, which, as of publication,  is in two days, that being Saturday, so for a while, I'll be able to work on chapters a lot more frequently, and I can do a lot more books, which I have three in the works.
