¦BOOK II¦- 39~ Persuasions And Coercions
When she was through with her bathe, she stepped out of the bathe tub, drained off all the water, and left the bathroom altogether, in a beautiful, freshly smelling bathrobe, and went in search of clean clothes.
Surely, if they'd planned this suite for her, for them, then they would have made provisions for her clothing as well right?
With that thought in mind, she began opening wardrobes and cupboards, until... Aha! She found some clothes. These weren't her own clothes though, she inspected. No, these were new. But they were surprisingly all in her sizes, another thing she realized.
Even the long line of carefully hunged pairs of lace bras and matching throngs, weren't hers. They all had new labels on them. In her sizes as well.
Well she wouldn't think too much about that. It sure wasn't as creepy as her mind was telling her it was. With swift, jerky actions, she picked up one of the pairs; a white lace bra and its matching panties, and donned it on. Before picking up a beautiful white dress she saw in another wardrobe, and putting it on as well.
The dress easily clung to her features in a beautiful, hot designer-kind of-way, but still had a prominent slit in front, for her easy movement. And it had a collar, but no buttons. Overall, Raven was pretty proud of herself, to have chosen this dress in the mix. It was gorgeous.
With complete satisfaction in her clothing choices, Raven's next course of action was to go into the kitchen, and find herself the means to make a decent cup of coffee. And she did just that.
After a brief search-through of the kitchen, she found the materials she needed to make her coffee, and began to prepare it. She made more than she needed, incase she did need to drink more, later.
She finally sat down at the kitchen table thirty minutes later, an amazing cup of coffee in hand, buffed up with lots of sugar and supple amount of cream, and with her bedraggled thoughts all to herself. Trying to sort them out, one after the other.
Glancing at the kitchen clock, she noted that the time was now 8am. And the day was so much more brighter now.
Less than an hour later, Mikhail strolled into the kitchen, catching her on her fifth cup of coffee.
He was clad in just a pair of shorts, and she inhaled reflexively, her breath hitching, her heart thundering, as she experienced that deliciously swift intake of breath, that only came when your man walked into a room where you were. The tiny type that you couldn't control.
The man sure knew how to make a dripping entrance. Water was cascading down his long wet hair, his chiseled face, his bare turso, down his defining abs, wetting his boxers, molding them to his skin like he was a freaking Adonis God conjured out of a wet sex dream. She involuntarily swallowed, only to find out her mouth was suddenly patched-out dry. She took in more and more gulps of coffee, to clear her patched throat, but her eyes never left him. Not even for a single second.
"Mikhail" she finally greeted
"Raven" he drawled, a twinkle in his eyes, and a smirk on his lips, as he strolled over to the table where she was and poured himself his own cup of coffee.
The bastard knew the exact effect he was having on her!
"You showered." she finally said. "I didn't even hear the shower running. I must have been so lost in thought––" she trailed off
"You showered as well. Even dressed up" he commented as well.
"Why were you lost in thought Raven? Are we...good? I don't know why, but I get the feeling that something's wrong, with you."
"Something wrong? No I just–– I wouldn't call it that. It's just–– silly that's all"
"If it really were just something silly, then I'd have still found you sleeping in my bed this morning, when I woke up. You never wake up to drink coffee this early Raven, unless you have thoughts that can't put you to sleep. That won't let you sleep. So you wake up, stay waked up by drowning your body in coffee, trying to sought out and process those thoughts. Fair warning though, When I make love to a woman, I'd still very much like to find her nestled there, the next morning when I wake up. Especially when that woman's you" Raven didn't miss out on the carefully placed sarcasm in his voice, even though she could tell, what he really was, was concerned for her. Her brain bypassed that though. What it really wanted to hear, was the sarcasm.
"You don't have to be a dick just to tell me I should have stayed in bed" she rolled her eyes. "I couldn't sleep. That isn't a crime, the last I checked. Unless of course you were dating Mikhail Constantinovich." she raised her cup in salute.
"I'm sorry. I just... I miss us. I'm sorry. It's been a rough couple of weeks, and I've missed you more than I've thought was humanly possible. And now you're here, now I'm here, and I just want to get past any barriers we may have, and move back to the easy flow of how things used to be between us before. It's been a good year all round. For us. I'm scared that two weeks of my absence, was strong enough to ruin that"
"Hey, hey, you didn't ruin anything. Nothing's ruined. Nothing's broken" she dropped her cup, to grasp his hand, instantly needing to assure him
"But our last phone call––"
"I should be the one apologizing for that. And I am truly sorry. It was just tiredness, and hormones, and so many other things talking. None of them projecting what I truly wanted to say to the man I hadn't seen in two weeks, that I'd very much wanted to see"
"How are you? Really? From our last conversation, it seemed to me like a lot of things went on in my absence" he caressed her cheeks
"I guess for the most part, I'm fine. I–– got a call from my mom that she'd been diagnosed with brain tumor, and she's set to go in for surgery anytime now. Compounded to that, I started facing–– challenges at the office"
"I'm sorry about your Mom, Raven."
"Yes, me too. I need her to be fine, Mikhail. I just need her to be fine" Raven's voice cracked.
"I'm sorry I wasn't here, when you got that call"
"It's fine. You've got your own duties as well. I'm a big girl. I understand" Raven sniffed
"You said challenges in the office, what does that mean?"
"It just means that a lot of people do not like that I go out with their boss. And that make no means of hiding that fact. They also think I got to the position I currently hold, through nefarious means" she finished off vaguely, not wanting Mikhail to know she'd been practically accused of being a slut, and sleeping around.
"Fuck! Ya by ubil etikh ublyudkov, yesli by u menya seychas byl pistolet v ruke"
I would kill those motherfuckers if I had a gun in my hand right now
"It doesn't matter much though. I'm already handling it" she strove to assure him, when she saw how agitated he was becoming
"Handling it? It was enough to make you get upset in the first place. It could have gotten the baby upset. Give me names. I need names" he ordered sharply
"That's not going to happen. What sort of person would that make me? You know me enough to know I'd never do that to my own colleagues."
"But they had no qualms doing it to you!"
"And I'd be proving them just right, if I now go ahead and unleash their own boss on them, in righteous fury. Just to avenge my pride. They're scared. They're scared of me, which is why they're lashing out. Scared that my relationship with the boss could be detrimental to their own relationship with him. And their Jobs. Please don't ask me to prove them right, by giving you names."
"Fine. No names then. But they're right in being scared. They ought to be. You're the mother of my child Radi boga. I wouldn't let any harm come to you. Ty moy, chtoby zashchishchat'"
"Yeah. Let's talk about that. Are you happy Mikhail? That I'm bearing your child? Cause every time you say it, there's just this slight wince on your face that seems to contradict the smile and conviction I hear in your voice. And I can't help but notice that slight wince, because it tells me that you–– might not be happy."
A/N: You think there's about to be trouble in the Mikhail-Raven land?
Now, If you of course loved this chapter, don't forget to drop a vote and a comment. Or give me a follow. See you in the next and last chapter for the day, because mummy is me, and mummy is tired.
Disclaimer though. I think I can fairly say, that Mikhail has never raped Raven. I understand that this might be subject to debate, because every reader has their own opinions. But what I do know is that Mikhail is incredibly persuasive. He's forceful, and resourceful, he wants to bend you to his way, but every single time, deep down, it's always been what Raven wanted as well. The No's she says, originates from her lips, at best her head, but never her heart. And Mikhail knows that. So he tries to push his will, until he gets her to that stage where her head stops thinking, and only her heart does. I said this because I saw a lot of people commenting that the last sex scene was a rape. I assure you it wasn't. There were battle of wills, with her saying no at some point, but it wasn't rape as we know it. It's always been like this between them, remember? She loves to struggle. I actually do think she enjoys the thrill, of letting Mikhail persuade her of what she knows she already really wants, deep down.
