It takes weeks for Changbin to muster the courage to approach Seungmin again. He knows he has to do things differently-this time, no half-truths, no selfish motives. He needs to show Seungmin that his feelings are real and that he's willing to work for his forgiveness.
Changbin starts small. Instead of bursting into the other dorm unannounced like he used to, he texts Seungmin first.
Changbin: Can we talk? Please. I want to apologize properly.
Seungmin doesn't respond for hours. Changbin nearly gives up hope when his phone buzzes.
Seungmin: Fine. Tomorrow, after practice.
The next day, Seungmin walks into the practice room where Changbin is waiting, looking cautious but composed. His guarded demeanor makes Changbin's heart ache even more. He realizes just how much he's hurt Seungmin, and he's determined to fix it.
"Seungmin," Changbin starts, his voice steady but filled with emotion. "I'm sorry. I was selfish, and I didn't think about how my actions would hurt you. I thought you'd always be there for me, no matter how much I messed up, and that was wrong."
Seungmin crosses his arms, his face unreadable. "You think saying sorry fixes everything?"
"No," Changbin says quickly. "I know it doesn't. That's why I don't just want to say sorry-I want to prove to you that I can be better. That I'm serious about you."
Seungmin raises an eyebrow, skeptical. "How do I know you're not just saying this because you feel guilty?"
"You don't," Changbin admits. "But I'll show you. Every day, if I have to. I'll wait as long as it takes for you to trust me."
For the first time, Seungmin's expression softens, just a little. "You've hurt me, hyung. You can't expect me to forget that overnight."
"I don't," Changbin says earnestly. "But I'll work to earn your forgiveness. And your love, if you'll let me."
Seungmin doesn't respond right away. He studies Changbin, trying to find any sign of insincerity. But all he sees is someone who finally understands how much he's hurt the person who loves him most.
"Okay," Seungmin says quietly. "But don't think I'm going to make this easy for you."
Changbin smiles, a small, relieved smile. "I wouldn't expect anything less."

From then on, Changbin dedicates himself to showing Seungmin that his feelings are genuine. He doesn't cling to Hyunjin anymore, understanding now how his actions might have been misinterpreted. He spends more time with Seungmin-not in a way that overwhelms him, but in small, meaningful gestures. He helps him with practice, brings him snacks, and listens to him vent after long days.
Seungmin, true to his word, doesn't make it easy. But slowly, he lets Changbin back in. He starts to believe that maybe, just maybe, Changbin really does love him.
One evening, months after their initial fallout, Seungmin finally lets his guard down. They're sitting on the dorm balcony, sharing a quiet moment under the stars.
"Hyung," Seungmin says, his voice soft but steady. "I think I'm ready to give this a chance. But don't mess it up, okay?"
Changbin's smile is brighter than the moonlight. "I won't. I promise, I'll spend the rest of my life making you happy."
For the first time in a long time, Seungmin feels like maybe he doesn't have to carry all the weight of his love alone. And for Changbin, he knows he's finally found the person who makes his world feel complete.
Changbin holds Seungmin's hand and he leans toward Seungmin, making their foreheads touch. "Then, can I have the honour to be your boyfriend?" Changbin whispers.
"Yes, you can, and I really love you." Seungmin closes the distance and puts a gentle kiss on Changbin's lips. Together, they take their first step toward a future where love is no longer one-sided but shared and cherished.
