2) Moonlight Stroll
(Well, here we are. Chapter 2! This one will be a tiny bit longer, cause I'm sure most of us don't really like short chapters, but with that out of the way, enjoy reading!)
---------------------------------------------
We arrived back at my house, which I was still figuring out how Cinderace knew where my house was located. I was pulled out of my thoughts right after she dropped me again. I landed flat on my ass and grunted in slight pain. "H-Hey! Stop dropping me on my ass please, I need it! It's useful..." I said. Cinderace just rolled her eyes as her ears went up. "I smell carrots, where are the carrots...TELL ME!" Cinderace psychically told me, shaking me back and forth. Her soft paws had a rather tight and rough grip onto me, as I was starting to receive whiplash from the jerking of my head at rather fast speeds. "They....re....on..the...coun..un...ter..!" I managed to say as she kept shaking me. Eventually she stopped, dropping me flat on my ass once again, and dashed into the kitchen, munching down on some carrots that I had. I got up and turned the TV on, which displayed a show about some guy who loves fighting all types of enemies, and his hair spikes up and becomes golden after he yells, sometimes it changes from yellow to red, or sometimes blue, then back to black with some glow in it, and then white, but never mind that. Cinderace had finished the bowl of carrots, leaving nothing in it whatsoever. It's a good thing I had a back-up in the fridge. "So, when do we start training? I want to get stronger! I'm already strong, but getting stronger wouldn't hurt," She boasted. I looked at the fridge, before opening it. "We'll start training, after I had a nice salad," I told her. One of Cinderace's ears perked down as she tilted her head. "The hell's a salad?" She asked.
I looked at her in disbelief. "Cinder...honey.. you're telling me that you, a tall anthropomorphic female fire bunny Pokemon, have never heard or seen a salad before." I asked her, and I could've sworn I saw some blush on her face from the nickname before it quickly faded away. "N-No. No I have not. Tell me what it is," She said. I explained to her what a salad was, and how you could add chicken, tomatoes, onions, and other veggies or meat in it. "Salad is a really good meal to make your body feel good and energetic, especially if you use ranch to make it tastier, and yes, you can add carrots into it," I informed her. Cinder jumped up in delight, clearly wanting a salad. Typical. I shrugged it off and started making her a salad, which she watched from behind me. I could hear her soft, patient breathing as her gaze was fixed onto the salad I was preparing for her. One of my windows that was open allowed a cool breeze to flow in, making me shiver a bit. Cinderace gently wrapped her arms around my waist as she pressed herself against my back, making me blush. "Relax, this is how I made my previous trainer warm, " she said. I took a deep breath and kept making her salad, throwing in extra carrots. I didn't notice it, but Cinder was starting to slowly enjoy my touch, I could feel her hands slowly slide up my chest. She pulled away as soon as I moved, showing her the salad I made. She simply smiled and took the plate, eating it. Her eyes teared up as she ate. "Nomph...'Ish is...mph..best..mpood...mever~" she said with her mouth full. I smiled at her and started eating my salad, and let me tell ya; that really does make you feel better, even if it doesn't taste as good as meat or junk food.
After about an hour or so of Cinder laying on the couch and myself on the floor, clearly tired of some training we did, I stood up and checked the time. It was almost evening, and I wanted Cinder to feel more comfortable around me. "Hey Cinder?" I asked the fire bunny, getting her attention. "Sup," she blankly said. Rubbing the back of my neck, I decided to ask her something that made her ears go up. "Will you go out with me?" I asked. She sat up quickly and looked at me with wide eyes. "You're joking..." She said in disbelief. I shook my head slightly. "Woah now, not like that Cinder, we've only been partners for a few hours now. I meant like we could just spend the rest of the day outside, exploring or whatever, probably get to know each other more," I told her. Cinder's eyelids drooped down midway. "Oh uh..yeah that's fine, but I heard from the TV that it's gonna be a bit chilly, and I don't really like the cold, for obvious reasons," she said, laying back down, "Just...tap my foot or somethin' when you're headin' out...in the meantime, I'm gonna take a nap." I nodded and started to go upstairs, but a small urge came over me. I quickly went to Cinder and pet her head, making her growl in annoyance before I dashed upstairs like a child.
"That guy I swear..who does he think he is..petting me like that.... it's not like it felt good or anything..S-So what if he pets like my previous trainer?" She thought to herself. Her ears perked up when she heard you close your door, and got up from the couch. She looked at the pictures you had of your family and smiled a bit, getting a toothpick from a box of them out of a drawer. "Well I'll be damned, the dude is actually living well on his own," Cinder said to herself. She walked to the closet and opened it up, looking at various jackets and coats, along with some type of doll on the floor, life sized. She ignored it and looked at the blue and light blue hoodie, and decided to put it on. Her mood suddenly changed, as she felt more comfortable, and somewhat cooler, more confident in herself. "Huh, this isn't so bad. It's actually pretty comfortable in this...what do they call it..oh yeah, a hoodie," Cinder thought to herself. She kept looking around the house and turned to a window. It gave her a view of the backyard, but something was off about it. It was actually the end of a cliff, with a beautiful view of another town below. She walked out the backdoor and walked up to the edge of the cliff, looking at the setting sun that seemed so close, but so far. Cinder sighed, feeling her powers weaken a bit. "Heh, so this is how those firebenders felt when the moon eventually came up after the sun in that worldwide popular series," She thought in her head. The sun was completely set now, as Cinder realized that she's been standing there with her hands in the hoodie's pockets for about an hour now. How time flies when you're reminiscing about things you enjoyed in the past.
Soon, she could hear me walk up behind her, as the stars starting to light up half of the Earth's atmosphere. "Hey Cinder, are you ready to take a stroll?" I asked my pokemon. She nodded and started to walk beside me, as we walked past my house and cut off to another path in the forest nearby. There were crickets and all other insects making noises, and some flowers were gently swaying with a small breeze. "So, how do you feel around me right now?" I asked her. Cinder kept looking ahead, before answering, "Well, you seem like an alright dude, you're not trying to get in some girl's pants every hour you get, or guy's pants. I don't discriminate." My eyes grew a bit wide, but I shrugged it off. "W-Well, thanks for that, I still think that you're a bad-ass," I told her. She scoffed a bit and turned her head away, hiding a smirk and a faint blush. "O-of course I'm a bad-ass, I'm not just some bunny rabbit, y'know," she said. I nodded at her response. I couldn't help but like how cool she looked in my clothes. "I see you're wearing my hoodie, you like it?" I asked her. Cinder looked down and opened the hoodie a bit. She smiled a little. "Yeah I like it, it makes me warmer and...somehow makes me feel more confident about myself, more cooler, bad-ass, all of that stuff," she said, "It's weird how wearing a pair of clothes can change your attitude." I smiled as well. She seemed so calm now, hell, it was literally just a couple of hours ago when she kicked me into a tree, and now here we are. This is some pretty interesting character development, I should say. "I do have a question for you though, Cinder," I told her, stopping. She also stopped in her tracks and looked back at me, one ear bent and the other straight up. "Shoot, I'm all ears," she said. I took a quick breath before asking, "How did your old trainer know about me? I only met her for the first time a few hours ago, yet she seemed to know something and passed it on to you. Like how you instantly knew where my house was."
Cinder stood silent for a few moments. I couldn't see her eyes, as a few shadows of leaves from a tree were covering her eyes. "Well, that lady is actually a very old hex, and she's been kidnapping other pokemon, and wiped their memories and/or manipulate them. She did this with a few pokemon before me, making them think that she was the one who raised them all on her own. But she's just an old liar; and her main goal is to form her own army to rule over the region, just for her own little sick pleasures," she explained. I looked at her in shock, Ms. Avery, the old hex Cinder spoke of just now, is actually evil? "Now, you're probably wondering how I know all of this if she messes with pokemon's minds, well like I said earlier, I'm not just some bunny rabbit, my mind is more...durable than the other pokemon that were there. I just acted so she wouldn't get suspicious. And she saw you one day on one of your walks, and decided to send me to get some personal information from you," she grunted. I was trying to process what she was saying to me. "Well, how come you're not leaving? Aren't you worried that she'll come find you?" I asked her. Cinder looked at me through the shadows from the leaves and said, "She won't find me. She expects me to come back on my own, the only reason why is because she manipulated my mind into thinking that men were just horny animals constantly, which is a turn off for girls, mostly. And you honestly just seemed like one of those...what do you call it..Hentai main characters? Basically, since I was with you, a guy, she'll think I'll come back as soon as possible. But since I know you better now, I'm not going back." I sighed and nodded. "Well, thanks for talking to me, Cinder. That's all I wanted to do, just to get to know you better and not for you to think I'm just some creep," I said to her.
"Nah don't worry about it, if you wanna know some things about me, a hobby of mine is surprisingly drawing. When I was still a scorbunny, my original trainer, her name was Chaya, would take me out on her little adventures, and I drew maps of our locations we've been to, and combined them all into one giant map. But one night, Ms. Avery captured me and...well you know the rest," she told me. I gave her a hug, I don't know why, but I just wanted to. "Wow Cinder, you've must've had a rather...interesting life so far, but I'm glad that we're partners, if you still want to be partners, that is," I said, looking at her. Cinder couldn't help but giggle, yes, actually giggle a bit, before she hugged me as well. "Of course we're still partners, (Y/n), you're a really chill guy and you're interesting to be around, honestly I wish I was with you sooner, now come on, we should head back home, it's almost midnight from the looks of where the moon is at," Cinder informed me, even going so far as to pet me on MY head a bit, before turning and walking back on her own. I stood there for a bit, thinking about what just happened, and the talk that we had. I sighed and put my hands in my pockets, following her trail back home. While I was walking, I smiled and said,
"You're one hell of a pokemon, Cinder, I'll give ya that."
