Grumbo Fluff: Hermitcraft Pt. 2
Grian's Perspective-
The snow had gotten heavier over the past week and buried the town in a thick blanket of white. Streets that had once been bustling with life were now hushed, the soft crunch of snow underfoot the only sound breaking the stillness.
Grian marveled at how the familiar buildings had transformed; rooftops sagged under the weight of the snow, and twinkling fairy lights peered through the layers, casting a warm glow against the stark white.
He pulled his scarf tighter around his neck, feeling the chill seep through his gloves as he wandered down the main street.
People bundled in colorful coats laughed with delight, building snowmen and launching snowballs, while shopkeepers struggled to keep their entrances clear.
He decided to explore further, his breath visible in the frosty air, wondering what hidden treasures the snowy town might hold.
"Hey Etho." Grian smiled as he walked into the warm building.
"What up." Etho nodded.
"How's the snow?"
"Annoying." Etho huffed, "Joel keeps building snowmen outside and crowding the building."
Grian laughed and Etho jumped as a snowball hit the window and Joel stuck out his tongue.
"YOU'RE ASKING FOR IT JOEL-!"
Joel cackled and ran off.
Etho shook his head and Grian smiled.
"Did you hear Mumbo called for a meeting later in Scarland's castle about the snowstorm. Apparently it's gonna get worse."
"It'll be fine." Grian waved him off.
"We may all be staying in the castle for a bit." Etho said and Grian's eyes widened.
"What? Why?"
"Because some of the buildings aren't tall enough and the snow will burry them. Besides, are you even done building your base?"
Grian looked embarrassed.
"I-it'll work!!!"
Etho chuckled and shook his head.
"Just come to the meeting. You don't gotta agree with everything Mumbo says but this is for your safety."
Grian muttered but he nodded.
-
The meeting went over the weather and Mumbo said everyone should stay in Scarland's castle.
Scar had more than enough room and most people saw it as a sleepover.
Impulse, Tango, and Skizz were huddled in the corner in their sleeping bags, Tango leaning against Skizz while Impulse and Skizz played patty cake. Scar baked cookies with Gem and Cleo was giving Grumbot food and drinks to pass out.
Grian sat against the wall and Grumbot drifted over to him, holding a teapot and cup.
Grian sighs and rolled his eyes, taking the mug.
"Finally accepting help?"
Grian grumbled, "Shut it mustached man."
Mumbo huffed and sat next to Grian, taking the cup from Grumbot and sipping on the warm tea.
"Look," Mumbo sighed, "I know your house isn't tall enough to survive the snow storm and...I can help you rebuild it and get supplies for it."
Grian raised an eyebrow.
"Why?"
"Because I'm- "
"Because you're mayor of course you're doing it for your title. Admit it, you don't actually care about me."
Mumbo scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"Will you stop jumping to conclusions? Can you not admit that I actually care?"
Grian's eyes widened and Mumbo sighed.
"Yeah I know, I care. How weird." Mumbo sipped on his drink and Grian's eyes widened, his cheeks a bit red.
"So," Mumbo lowered his cup, looking up at Grian. "Do you accept my hand in rebuilding?"
Grian huffed, looking out the window, watching as the snowflakes surrounded the window panes.
Mumbo sighed and stood up.
"Let me know if you change your mind." He muttered, walking off.
Grian looked up, taking Mumbo's hand to stop him.
Mumbo glanced over his shoulder and Grian blushed a bit.
"I- I do."
