It was in the news the next day.

YouTube video bloggers, Dan Howell (22) and Phil Lester (26), are currently in intensive care after a cruise boat in Jamaica sank, trapping Dan inside. Phil, seeing Dan's body floating on the sea, jumped out of the lifeboat he was in, to attempt to save him, when a shark attacked him and left him seriously injured. The two are currently being cared for in England, having been flown back from Jamaica as soon as they were stable enough to transfer. (Yes i know this is nothing like a news article)

"This isn't good," Dan said.

Phil nodded vigorously. "Why us, anyway? I'm sure some member of the royal family was on the beach with a bikini on. Why weren't they front page material?"

Dan shoved him gently. "Stop it! You know what I mean, don't you?"

Phil shook his head. "Not really, no."

Dan sighed fondly and turned his phone screen round to face Phil. Phil realised that Dan wasn't in fact reading the news article about them, but checking up on his YouTube page.

"Half a million?" Phil exclaimed.

"I know. And the thing is, if it wasn't for the boat, I'd still only have a hundred thousand."

"Why do you have a problem with it? I mean, publicity is good, right?"

Dan looked at him. "Yeah, but I don't want subscribers just because I almost died."

Phil winced at the word and Dan took his hand and squeezed it gently.

"I want subscribers because people like the content I've made." he finished.

Phil nodded, starting to understand. "I see what you mean. I'd prefer my existing subscribers to leave worried comments about me after reading that, not just to rewatch my latest video."

"Yeah. Exactly."

Phil pulled his phone out of his pocket. "How many subs do you think I'll have gained?"

Dan thought for a second. "Half a million, maybe more."

Phil tapped on the icon on his screen and sighed. "Yeah. I've got six hundred thousand now."

"We should probably make a video or something."

"What about?"

"I dunno. Explaining what happened? Telling them that we're still alive?"

"That sounds like the kind of thing I'd want to know if I heard that a YouTuber was in intensive care."

Dan nodded and smiled weakly. "Right. Shall we make it now?"

"Why not?"

Dan shrugged and stood up. Phil followed suit, limping into his bedroom to get the camera and tripod.

"Dan?"

"What?" Dan called, from the room next door where he was setting up the lights.

"I can't carry the camera."

Dan laughed quietly and picked up the lights, carrying them into his room.

"Where are we filming?" he asked.

"We could... I mean, only if you want to, but we could film in here and..."

"What?"

"Well, we could tell them about the... Extent of our relationship?"

Phil sounded so nervous that Dan had to laugh. "Considering what we've been through, I don't think it makes much difference whether they know or not. If you want to, then I'm willing to."

"Shall we?"

Dan nodded. "We shall."

Phil kicked him gently and stood up. "Which laptop?"

"Yours."

Dan carried on setting up the cameras while Phil grabbed the laptop off his bed and logged on.

"You ready?"

Phil nodded and Dan sat down on the bed beside him. He pressed a button and the lights flashed on.

"Hello internet."

"Hey guys."
