{TW: homophobic slurs}

Going home every day was a nightmare, only because of my dad and my sister. Whenever the TV was on and they saw a gay man, a lesbian, or someone with dark skin, they yelled out slurs. My mom and brother were nice, though. My mom and dad are getting a divorce, because mom found someone who treats her and my brother better, and she plans on bringing me, but my dad wants to keep Paisley.  Only Paisley.

I walked through the door with my sister, head low. "-AG!" I heard from the living room. I assumed my dad had screamed FAG at the television again. "Paisley, come look at this disgusting shit!" He yelled at my sister. She took a look into the living room. On the tv, there was a gay couple kissing. One was Asian, and the other was Filipino. {A/N: I know people think Filipinos are Asian but I'm not sure, I just know they have tan/dark tan skin. Please correct me if I'm wrong.}

"Gross," Paisley stated. She then walked into the kitchen to get a snack. I ran upstairs, upset. My brother came in my room and hugged me, having heard my dad's outburst. He stayed home from school today, he had a headache, so he had to listen to dad screaming while our mom was working. I felt bad for him, so I wrapped my arms around his back.

We both had a good cry that day.
