Your Most Powerful Attack
Nikita fought to hold the wall guarding her mind as she looked for any weakness in Herobrine's attack, any gaps that she could use. She found one just as she thought the wall might crack. It was tiny, minuscule gap that would only be noticed in a desperate situation like this, but Nikita had no choice.
She took a deep breath, readying her attack. Then Nikita attacked him, slipping through the small gap and attacking his mind.
She immediately felt him pull back from attacking her mind to protect his own from her. After what seemed like hours of the fruitless battle Herobrine told her to stop, his voice echoing in her mind.
She did, withdrawing into her own mind and slowly coming back into reality.
When Nikita fully came back to her senses she realized just how tired she was. The battle with Herobrine has exhausted her.
"Get some rest." He said, looking her straight in the eyes.
"We will continue your training tomorrow, and see how well you fight with a sword." He said.
As he turned away from her she saw a brief expression of... what was that? Fear?
Is he afraid of my powers? Thought Nikita as they walked towards The Fortress.
He can't be. My powers are nothing compared to his.
She looked at him again but all hint of what she thought she saw was gone, replaced by the expressionless mask he wore most of the time.
That night the question still bothered Nikita, gnawing at her mind, wanting to be answered. She ignored it, however, because she knew that it couldn't be answered.
It's not true. She though to herself.
Nikita stood looking out of the window, unable to sleep. To many thoughts were swirling around in her head at once. Thoughts of home, thoughts of Thomas and her parents.
But not my real parents. She reminded herself.
I'm going to do the same thing that got them killed. Thought Nikita.
That thought made her stomach full with butterflies.
I may die doing this.
She turned away from the window and lay down in her bed.
It might be the last thing I ever do.
Nikita spent the rest of the night drifting in and out of a fitful sleep, and when she heard the knock on the door she was glad to be awoken.
Nikita found that she wasn't as tired as she should be, in fact, she didn't feel tired at all.
Weird. She thought as she got dressed.
When she opened the door she found the Guard standing there as always, waiting.
"Bring your armor." The Servant said.
"And your sword."
Nikita nodded and went to where she kept her armor in the chest by her bed. She quickly put it on and grabbed her sword from beside the bed.
She then, as always, followed the guard down the hallway. She quickly ate and then met Herobrine out on the trading grounds.
She leaned her sword up against the fence and turned and faced the Servant standing there. She practiced her mind reading and mental fighting skills until she felt comfortable with them and then Herobrine told her to pick up her sword.
"Face me with your sword up." He said.
Nikita did as she was told, facing him and raising her sword.
"Good, now get into a battle stance." He said.
She did, holding the diamond sword out in front of her and widening her stance.
"Good. You have the basics. Have you fought before?" He asked.
"Yes. I sometimes defended our village against mobs that attacked. I learned to fight from my father." She answered.
Herobrine nodded and said "I will teach you every attack and parry that exists, plus attacks that use your abilities."
Nikita dropped her sword arm to her side and stood straight.
"Are you ready?" He asked.
Nikita nodded.
Nikita then began to learn different stances, catching on quickly. Herobrine stood next to her with his own sword and showed her how to do it, and Nikita mirrored his movements, copying his actions and repeating them.
He then showed her different attacks, how to parry, thrust and stab at enemies, how to get around their defenses, and he showed her how to fight with a shield, and how to get around an enemy's shield.
She also learned where the weak points in armor were and where to slip the blade of sword between them.
Once she had those skills down and was able to fight multiple Servants at once Herobrine told her that it was time to learn the skills that channeled her powers.
"Raise your sword and hold it out in front of you." He said, watching her intently.
Nikita did as she was told, raising her sword so that it was out in front of her.
"Now focus on the blade and imagine a bolt of lightning striking it." He said.
Nikita focused on the blue diamond blade of her sword and imagined a huge bolt of lightning hitting it. Suddenly out of nowhere a huge lightning bolt came and struck the blade, making it glow and crackle with electricity.
Nikita could feel the power that now coursed through the blade from the strike.
"This is the way that you can charge your sword. It now carries a huge amount of energy that you can dispel at any time, blasting any enemies in your way backwards and sending a huge amount of energy surging through they, instantly killing them." Said Herobrine.
"You can release the energy by focusing on the blade again and imagining the power draining away."
Nikita focused on the crackling blue blade and imagined the energy draining from the sword. Slowly the sword lost it's electric blue glow and returned to normal.
"Practice that a few times until you get comfortable with it." Said Herobrine.
Nikita nodded and gathered the strength to summon another lightning bolt. She did this four or five times before she felt comfortable calling the lightning and releasing its trapped power from the blade.
"Good." Said Herobrine.
"Now, imagine that you are being attacked by mobs from all sides and you need a quick and reliable way to get away." He said.
Nikita did so, thinking of when she and Elijah had gotten attacked by mobs on their way here.
"Now, plunge your sword into the ground and imagine a huge amount of power surging through the ground away from you, blasting all of the mobs backwards."
She did so, slashing downwards with her sword and stabbing it into the ground. A huge wave of electric blue energy surged outwards from where her sword was stuck in the ground, blasting unaware Servants backwards and even killing some with the force of the energy before it dissipated.
Nikita stood up and immediately felt lightheaded and tired. She went over and sat against the fence, feeling drained.
"That is one of your most powerful attacks." Said Herobrine.
"It will drain you of almost all of your strength, so use it only when necessary." He said.
Nikita nodded.
"Now, go rest. We are done for today." He said, turning and walking towards the Fortress.
Nikita followed close behind, welcoming the idea of a good night's sleep.
