Unknown Strength
They followed Samantha out onto the streets and back towards the building that they had come into the city through. She held the door for us and led us to the room where we had taken off the wetsuits and said "Put them back on and meet me by the door to the exit."
She then closed the door and walked away.
"She seems... irritated." Commented Elijah as he got his wetsuit back on.
"It's because we didn't stay long enough." Said Nikita in a low voice so that Samantha wouldn't hear.
"She would rather that we stayed for a whole week." She said.
"But we can't. We have to get to The Cave as soon as possible." Nikita said, finishing up getting her wetsuit on.
"And do what?" Asked Elijah.
"I'm not sure. Most likely get the instructions to our final destination, the portal to Shadowstone in the mountains." Said Nikita, careful not to say the name of the mountains.
Nikita and Elijah dawned their turtle shells and walked out of the room. They found Samantha standing by the door, wetsuit and turtle shell on, ready to go. She again held the door open for them and went in last. Samantha jumped in first, Nikita first and Elijah second.
Together the three of them made the journey back to the island, though this time travel was much faster, for they knew where all the traps were.
When the got to the base of the island Samantha helped them up onto the warm sand.
They took off their wetsuits and dawned their armor. Samantha led them to the stables and Nikita hugged Blaze's neck. She had missed him more than she had realized.
"Well, this is goodbye." Said Samantha as the two adventurers mounted their horses.
"Safe travels to Oakwood." She said.
"Thank you." Said Nikita as she rode out onto the sand.
She then looked at Elijah and together they rode off into the woods. When they could no longer see the beach Nikita pulled out the map and whispered the word "Caverna."
As she looked at the map the landscape on it slowly became visible, and the small path that told them where to go did to, winding its way through forests and open plains, until it finally reached the Shadowfang mountains where it continued on through a valley before it finally got to The Cave, which was marked as a large cave opening in the side of one of the Shadowfang's many jagged peaks.
"Whoa." Said Elijah, looking down at the map from over Nikita's shoulder.
"We need to keep going in the direction we are headed now, and get to the forest by nightfall." She said, spreading the map out on Blaze's saddle and pinning it down with the strap of her satchel, which lay across the saddle.
She gave a Blaze a kick and they were off, riding into the morning light. They couldn't afford to be stuck without a suitable place to build a base when night came.
We will have to fight the monsters that are out here, and I really don't want to have to do that. Thought Nikita as they rode through the trees.
Elijah was a few paces behind, letting Nikita lead since he didn't know where they were going. What amounted to about three hours later Nikita reined Blaze in and stopped underneath a tree.
"Why are we stopping?" Asked Elijah, coming up beside her.
"We need to eat." She said, pulling out a pork chop from her satchel.
She gave a Blaze an apple and ate herself. Beside her Elijah did the same, feeding his dapple-grey horse an apple.
"What's her name?" Asked Nikita.
"Grey Wind." He said, stroking her main.
"She's the fastest horse in Minecraftia." He said.
"That's why I named her the way I did."
"Is that why you found me so fast in the forest?" Asked Nikita.
"Yes. She can run faster than a spooked ocelot when we have somewhere we need to be. She's also trained in battle." He said.
"We've fought many battles together."
Later that day as they were traveling along a beach Nikita looked up at the sky and saw that they sun was going down. She then looked at the terrain around her. It was open with sparse trees and no cliffs around. They were in an open plain.
Crap.
"We might need to fight." Said Nikita to Elijah as she put away the map, slung her satchel over her shoulder and got out a torch and her sword.
Elijah got out his iron sword and a torch, braving himself for a fight as they rode through the flat terrain.
Just as they came upon a small lake they heard zombies, skeletons, spiders and creepers.
They were surrounded.
Elijah, seeing no other options, charged at the mobs, sword raised. He hacked and slashed at them, driving them back. Nikita soon joined the fray, working to drive them back. Suddenly a creeper exploded, throwing Nikita out of Blaze's saddle. She rolled to her feet and was quickly surrounded by hostile mobs. Elijah was fighting his own group of mobs and couldn't help her. She slashed at a zombie and killed it, but another one just took its place.
Nikita then felt a feeling... a feeling of immense power. She felt it trapped inside her. Nikita then looked at the mobs and suddenly her eyes began to glow like Herobrine's.
She then took her sword and stabbed it into the ground with a furious yell. A lightning bolt came out of nowhere and struck her sword and a massive wave of energy surged outward from it, blasting the monsters backwards and killing them.
When Nikita tried to stand a wave of dizziness overtook her and she collapsed. As she fell she felt Elijah catch her.
"Whoa, easy." He said, gently laying her on the grass.
"Rest. We'll move in the morning." He said.
"I'll keep watch."
Nikita nodded weakly and in a moment was asleep.
In the morning she woke to find Elijah sitting by the lake's edge.
"You're awake!" Said Elijah, running over to her.
He came over to her and helped her to her feet.
"What you did last night... that was incredible!" He said.
"Did you know that you could that?" He asked.
"No... that was the first time something like has ever happened." Said Nikita, looking up at him.
"I didn't even know that I had that... ability." She said.
"We can figure it out on the way to The Cave." Said Elijah, going over to Grey Wind.
"Whatever it was, though, it sure was useful." He said, turning and turning Grey Wind to the North once again.
Nikita mounted her own horse and they were off once more, riding into the unknown.
