Quarterstone Allies

The citizens all gave her wary looks as she rode through the dismal town. All of the buildings were made of stone, but there was no decoration in any of the windows like in Brimstone. All the houses were simple ones, with a bed, a crafting table and a furnace. Torches were the only source of light, they didn't have sea lanterns or redstone lanterns.
They had a simple bakery, library, blacksmith and butcher, but that was about it, and the streets were made of cobblestone.
"Here." Said the guard.
"You can stay in this house." She said, pointing to a small stone house.
"Thank you." She said, dismounting Blaze.
Seeing as she didn't trust any if the people around her she led Blaze into the house itself to the small backyard behind it. A few feet beyond the stone fence that marked the end of the yard there was a cliff edge.
Good, no one will steal Blaze. She thought as she offloaded her chest and put it by the bed.
She then took Blaze's saddle and other tack off. She put them all in the chest. She then ate a little before going exploring.
She kept her diamond sword in her inventory along with her armor and food just in case she got into a fight. She was correct about it being a dismal place. There was no color whatsoever, it was only grey and green, there were no other colors.
"Hey." Said someone behind her.
Nikita turned around to see the guard.
"What's your name?" Nikita asked.
"Amber, yours?"
"Nikita."
"Nice to meet you." She said.
"I have a couple questions." Said Nikita.
"How do you guys survive up here?"
"We go out hunting at the end of the week and bring back as much food as we can. Most of the time it's enough to get us through a whole month plus some, so we don't end up having to hunt every week. We also go fishing and grow our own crops down by the lake." She said.
"Where is the lake?" Asked Nikita.
"Down over the hill on a flat area of the mountain. There is a small lake there that the Snake River runs to. It's fenced off so no one will get in, and we have iron golems protecting the village and the farm. We get drinking water and water for our crops from there."
"So this place is bigger than I thought." Nikita said, looking around.
"It seems small from first glance, but it's actually quiet large."
"Amber, stop pestering our newcomer." Said a voice suddenly, making Nikita jump.
As she looked around for the source of the voice a man stepped out in front of Nikita and Amber. He had piercing ice blue eyes and brown hair. He wore a black shirt, jeans and what looked like... sneakers?
"Let her come with me." He said, looking right at Amber.
"Yes, Andre." Said Amber, walking away.
"Who are you?" Asked Nikita.
"That I cannot tell you until we are far enough away from here." He said, beginning to walk towards the lake.
They walked in silence, not quiet knowing what to say to one another. When they were down over the hill, however, Andre said "I know why your here,"
Nikita looked up at him. Are you one of his Servants?"
"Yes." He said.
"So is Gabriel." He said, nodding his towards a figure standing at the water's edge.
"He is my brother. We have lived here almost all of our lives, ever sense we lost our parents. We became Servants here, and have been watching this place for awhile now. It serves as a resting place for any Servants that are traveling." He said as he came to stand next to Gabriel.
Gabriel turned to face me, looking me up and down. His eyes were an emerald green that I had never seen before, and they made Nikita feel slightly uncomfortable. He was wearing much the same clothing as Andre, but his shirt was red, not black.
"So this is one who can tame the dragon?" He asked, his voice deeper than Nikita had expected.
"So young." He said.
"Some would say to young, but I do not underestimate you, Nikita. I knew what your parents were capable of."
"You knew my parents?" Asked Nikita.
"Yes." Said Gabriel, looking out across the water again.
"We worked together at Brimstone for a time." He said.
"Then Herobrine called them back to Shadowstone, where they were given he mission to tame the dragon. He said that he wanted us to go with them, since we worked together so well. He said that he needed a team that work well together, and could fight off the Enderman while the others communicated with dragon, so he sent them on one last mission to Brimstone where Andre and I were spying. They went to Brimstone but found that we weren't there, so they left the city to check Quarterstone. That's when they were killed. We heard that a child had been found and was being fostered by a family in the villages around Brimstone, and relayed the information back to Shadowstone."
He paused and took a breath before saying "We got the orders to stay here and keep and eye on you from a distance every once and awhile, because you were their child, and you had the abilities, and he didn't want to let you go with your parents' work left unfinished."
He then looked Nikita in the eyes and said "We will give you more food to get you the next city, but then you mist go in the morning. You cannot stay here for long, you must move on to Redstone Isle. If you follow the map you will find it. It is one of the very few cities that Herobrine has yet to conquer. Be careful, it is well guarded. There you will find the directions to The Cave, where you will meet with two Servants who will give you further instructions."
Nikita nodded.
"Good luck, Nikita." Said Andre, putting a hand on her shoulder.
Nikita then felt his hand lift from her shoulder and then she was completely alone, standing beside the lake with no sign that Gabriel of Andre had ever been there.
