The Broken and the Royal
A few hours had passed and nearly everyone had fallen asleep. All except Fangs and Sweet Pea, who had snuck off, out of the house hand in hand like giggly school girls sharing secrets. Their chestnut brown gazes up towards the dark midnight sky. The moon shining it's bright silver color across itself creating an outcast of gray around it that shined bright in the dark night.
The stars shimmering in the sky as they blinked as if they were the eyes in the sky. "You know the stars can lead you places" Sweet Pea began "but they also lead you to your destiny." Fangs replied.
"What do you see when you look up to the sky?" Sweet Pea asked curious raising his eyebrow at Fangs. "I see... Hope, hope for all those who deserve to have their dreams come true. I also see a mask for all those who shield themselves from the reality they are afraid of. But far in the distance I see bravery where those drop their shields and let down their walls" Fangs replied.
Sweet Pea looked up at the stars "what do you see?" Fangs asked "I see, I see a boy who is holding a broken crown. He is holding it trying to fix it as best as he can but he knows he can't give up. He knows deep down he shouldn't but he throws the peices across his room and tells himself he'll never be a prince, that he'll never have his prince. He hides behind his shield away from the world as they judge him." Sweet Pea replied still looking at the stars.
Fangs saw the hurt in the boy's eyes. He slowly turned the taller boy's head to meet his chestnut eyes. "The boy got up set his shield down and grabbed the crown determined to fix it. He reminded himself that even he, a lost boy could find his prince even if it took him time. In that time every day he would look at it as if it was his end. One day he found a boy who was just as lost as he was. The boy told the other his name and told the other that he would find his charming with in time." Sweet Pea looked away from the shorter boy.
"The days had passed and the boy who was destined to become a prince gave up his hopes and dreams, upset he'd never find the prince he wanted." Sweet Pea replied looking up at the stars again. "That is where the boy was wrong. He let his mind wander to the boy he had met near the store. The one who appeared so fragile and broken. With confidence the boy stood up, got changed and got to work on fixing the crown. When he was done he snuck out to go see the boy. He was invisible, the dark covering him as if he was a cloak. He made his way towards the taller boy who was sitting alone knees against his chest. His eyes glossed with tears as he felt the other's presence. "I'll never have my prince" the broken boy whispered to himself. The boy who wanted to become a prince one day reached his hand out and placed it onto the broken boy's hand. He took his other hand out of his pocket a crown in the palm of his hand "let me be your prince" the boy said placing the crown on the broken boy's head. "Let this crown be a reminder that you will find hope one day and find the one you can call your prince. Don't lose hope in your dreams. If you follow them they will lead you to your destiny." The boy explained looking the other boy in the eyes.
"Then what happened" Sweet Pea asked "well the boy soon became a prince and met his prince charming when he was eighteen. The now prince found his charming. The boy who was broken who had kept the silly little plastic crown. The prince turned towards his charming and looked him in the eyes. His hazel eyes full of hope and happiness a smile formed on his lips "thank you" the boy whispered "for everything" he replied" Fangs told. "What happened to the broken prince then?" Sweet Pea asked "well... I'm looking at him" Fangs replied.
"What do you mean Fangs? I'm no prince" Sweet Pea turned away. "I think you are reach in your pocket" Fangs responded. "There's nothing in my pocket Fangs" Sweet Pea replied reaching in his jacket pocket. His hand grasping the same plastic that was in the story.
He pulled it out of his pocket "the crown?" He asked. Fangs shook his head "You were the broken prince that had no hope. I was the prince who told you that you would get your happy ending one day" Fangs explained. "That story?"
"That was about us" Fangs replied "it was the story about a broken boy who soon became a prince" Fangs smiled.
