So my workplace (a restaurant with a small retail section) just opened up last Friday, and it has been a ride 🤩

Nobody has worked in well over a month, so it's been fun trying to remember how to do things and going crazy running around the store finding things since everything got moved during the quarantine 💀💀

Honestly, I wasn't expecting the restaurant to get so busy so quickly?? Especially since we primarily serve old people?? But like they crawled out of the woodworks or something as soon as we opened 'cause we've been nonstop.

Last night, tho. Last night was, in one word, c h a o s

For some reason, all three of the cash registers decided to become buggy right in the middle of the busy hour. My co-worker and I could check out like three people before we had to restart the computers and move to a different register to do the transaction. It was a time management game of trying to keep one register working at all times in case one of the two we were working on crashed at that moment.

Oh, yeah, and my restaurant's prime demographic is the elderly who have 0 patience for technical difficulties, so my co-worker and I got nasty comments and glares from everyone!!

Why do people have to be so rude? This one old couple made the hostess cry because the system was glitching and she was trying to figure out with the manager how to fix it, but the old couple was yelling at her for being 'incompetent' ffs

I can't with some people 😭😭

Things have been rough, definitely, but I still somehow feel refreshed from going back to work even though everything's mad. It lets me feel productive which is something I haven't felt since March since that's when all my classes got switched online. Getting out in town and interacting with people outside my household is a much-welcomed change of pace.

((And yes I do wear PPE while working and all that 'cause my workplace is careful about health measures since we serve food))

Also, this is very random and off-topic, but I noticed that Seriously is getting close to its 200 post limit. It won't get to 200 because I do have some drafts that I don't want to delete, so maybe I'll close this book and start another one once I get to like 180? It'll be a while 'til then, but I'm sh00k at the thought of starting a new random book lol
