it's so cold up here

where the snowflakes live

in peace and harmony

but we all fall eventually

fall in floating spirals

little by little we all fall

down to earth

and i fell today

the wind howls

as it blows the clouds around

and i get blown too

blown up and down

and in a big big circle

i'm all over the place

the ground rushes up

and then i'm rushed away again

and again and again

and it's rather monotonous

over and over

and then i land with a thunk

but there are millions of us

so no one notices

little tiny me

and i lie there

for enough time

that the sun moves

and is blocked by thicker clouds

thicker clouds and a tree

yells fill the air

laughter and joy

someone picks me up

and packs me into a ball

i'm on the outside

so all of a sudden the world

is spinning spinning spinning

with a poof!

a new voice

cries out in surprise

as our snowball hit them

i land on an eyelash

i'm thrown up and down on the eyelash

up and down and up and down and up

a hand reaches up

and wipes us all off

so we won't have to go up and down anymore

instead we all melt

slowly dribbling off a glove

as little melted droplets

rolling off into nothingness

and thunking on the ground again

a slow refreeze follows

but someone else got mixed up with me

so i'm here and they're here

and we're both there

we separate after some time

but i still think some of me is there and

some of them is here

i honestly can't tell

because i'm still a whole snowflake

and i could lose half of me

but i'd still be a whole snowflake

night falls and i'm buried

buried alive and laughing

because more of us fell

and we're all together

and i can see the moon above

but it's all blurry and fuzzy with snow

the sun melts the top layer

and i'm free again

as the clouds roll back in

and snow falls in slow

tiny rolling flakes

not the big fat ones that buried me

they never make a difference

but look good none the less

the voices come back

and shove me into a wall

i'm on the outside again

and i want to laugh at my luck

snowballs are thrown

back and forth

from one wall to me

from me to the other wall

and the sounds of laughter are loud and clear

as winter snow spreads over the land

ten nights pass before the sun is warming us

and i know it's come to an end

i will be melted

and thrown back into the wild cycle

and i look forward to it

because if life were to never change

what would be the point

why live if there's never anything new

as the sweet kiss of the sun's

first morning rays comes over the horizon

i melt away

and smile
