Tears Mean More
Harsh flashes of deep green bruises, cuts and thin running blood boomed into my mind once I took sight of the beatings on her.
My heart started racing, pounding with the flesh-tightening fire welling up inside my throat.
"Peridot!!"
I screamed, jolting up from the wall and pulling. Stretching. Fighting at my thick bearings. The chains that separated. The only thing holding me back...?
Through all the pain, hurt, and sadness, there was a strong glare in her eyes. As if she still didn't trust me.
I paused a moment.
That really struck me in the heart.
Could she seriously hate me? What did I-? I mean
...
Why would I...?
No.
She couldn't still hate me.
She's probably just giving that look because she doesn't want to look weak...
...
right...?
"How..."
My voice trailed off, I was absorbed in thought yet I managed to shake my head and get a grip of the situation.
"How dare you hurt her! I'll shatter you!!"
My voice screeched at Tourmaline. A twisted grin appeared before she broke into a fit of laughter. The terrifying laughs that made myself sink. It confused me. It sickened me. It enraged me.
I heard an extra snicker from the other side of the glass. Jasper.
"Grr...Why are you laughing!?"
"She- She did that to herself!"
Tourmaline snorts in between laughs, which seems to only grow at the statement as if it's something unbearably hilarious.
"What?"
A horrified whisper escaped my chapped lips. dry, frozen and ghastly, breathless like a gasp.
A held in snicker soon kicks into an added roar of laughter echoing from the other side of the bright room.
"I know, right!? How pathetic!"
I couldn't breath, couldn't feel, couldn't move, couldn't seem to do anything except stare, stare that same dull floor.
Petrified.
Petrified and shattered.
I can't believe it.
My form hitched, twisted and bent, strained and tight, struck and hollow.
An absent, empty shell as enormous laughs holed out the rest of me. The rest of my mind. My thoughts. All I could do was stare, avoiding the world, denying the truth, no, rejecting it, demolishing it completely inside the reality I wish to believe, to be present in.
But no, I can't.
I just can't.
I have to stick through this and- and try not to cry.
Yeah, crying.
Something I had always done.
Tears, whether they were bloody or not from being thrown around all my existence, were all the same undeniable liquid I despised.
Kicking the red gem off of me, I crawled up to aid the commander, silently sprinting towards the two gems clashing weapons. Once closer, I noticed the atmosphere was darker. Weighted down with strong aggression and real rivalry. So I stopped, unsure of what to do. My commander jabbed her black-dusted axe in the direction of the taller pink gem, aiming for the face. Wrong move. The larger gem stepped out of the way and took the opening to slash her long, pint-tinted Quartz sword along the unguarded area of her chest, burying the weapon deep into her side. Thick black goo oozed out, sliding down the merciless blade stuck firm in her stubborn form, refusing too give out. I gasped, crying out her name. "Commander!!!!" Her eyes snapped and locked onto me with resist trembling in her lifeless, black pupils. "Get- Get back you use- useless RUNT!!" Her strained voice rasped out, stone solid and furious eyes made me flinch back at being called a runt with so much violence and hatred. And with that, the blade twists and her form lets out, a maddening scream echoed throughout the Kindergarten. The sword was swiftly brought down onto the remaining obsidian gem, shattering it with a sickening crack.
I froze in place.
"W-wha..."
My wobbly knees dropped down to the dirt.
"You..."
A quivering whisper breathed out of me as shaking hands scooped up the shattered gem off the rubble.
And I stared at it.
Blankly, then, terrified.
A larger gem had taken out the stronger ally.
Who's to say they won't target me next?
Wait, no.
Your commander was defeated in battle,
You avenge them.
Yeah, that sounds about right.
And as my mind told so, I stood up, leaving the useless gem back in the dust.
Okay, Calm down. Just...summon your weapon.
My hand slowly edged to my gem.
What are you doing? Strike!
Yet I was too hesitant. A strong force from behind knocked me to the ground and, before I had time to stare, I was thrown to the walls, my back crashing into one of the high up holes.
"Garnet!"
A/N : Gah. Just. GAH. I have absolutely no idea why you guys even still like this and I'm EXTREMELY surprised you read this far and are still wishing for me to continue.. I reread my first chapters of these books and- I swear to god- It drives me insane with all the errors I missed and what I could've put to make it mean way more to the readers. I just wish I could get a redo on all this crud.
