Zara watched as Steve and Bucky carried Peggy into the church.
Steve's eyes were red and bloodshot while Bucky's face was stone, showing no emotion.

Throughout the funeral Bucky kept his face still but held Zara's hand tightly. Sam was sitting on Steve's right and Bucky on Steve's left leaving Zara on the end. So far there was no sign of Natasha but Zara knew that she would probably avoid being seen.

Steve wanted to hang back after the funeral so Bucky, Zara, and Sam headed back to the hotel and ended up at the hotel bar. Both Sam and Zara ordered something strong while Bucky chose water.

"Well, well, well, here comes Steve." Sam said with a small smirk. Bucky looked to the windows to see Steve walking very closely with Sharron Carter.

"Buck..." Zara started but a gasp cut her off as she watched an explosion on the TV in the bar. All three of them were now focused on the news. After the explosion, a picture of Bucky flashed onto the screen with the word suspect on top.

Zara looked at her husband and dragged him towards the elevator to find Steve and Sharron there.

"Steve, you need to see this." Sam said causing Steve's face to fall at the look on his best friends faces.

They watched the footage in Bucky and Zara's hotel room, over and over again.

"Well it's not me but it looks like it's me." Bucky said, rubbing his hands together, staring at the footage.

"Well who would have done this then? And why?" Sam asked from behind the couch.

Zara stayed quiet, looking from the TV to her husband.

"I swear this is not me, I have been with you the entire day Z." Bucky said finally facing his wife and almost pleading with her.

"I know. But what's going to happen to you?" She asked in a whisper. There was no answer to this and both of them knew it.

"I have to go." Bucky said standing up and walking towards the door.

"You're not going anywhere Buck." Steve said, stepping in front of his best friend. "This was not you, we've been with you the entire day, we'll give our statements." Steve added, trying to convince him that it would be okay.

"The footage is from last night. Were you with them all last night too?" Sharron asked, hanging up from her call with her boss.

"Well that's in Vienna, not here. There's no way he would have been able to make it there and back in time." Zara argued with Sharron, trying to reason with what was happening.

"Actually it is possible. Was he with you all day yesterday?" Sharron pressed.

"He left at 8 for a run and I went to sleep alone at 11." Zara whispered causing Bucky to look back at her.

"I went on a run and then I got distracted by something I was planning on surprising you with Zara. Please do not start doubting me now." He pleaded. Zara held his gaze and grasped his hand tightly.

"He didn't do this but we need to figure out who did. I need to go." Sharron explained, hastily picking up her coat and walking out of the room leaving the four friends in the room.

Bucky sunk back down onto the couch and put his head in his hands. "I'm just going to hurt all of you." He whispered.

"You're not going to hurt us, you did not do this and you are not your past." Zara whispered a she moved closer to him. Doubt prickled at the back of her mind but she pushed it away quickly. He was there for her and now she was going to be there for him.

Silence hung in the air as all of them considered what happened and what they were going to do.

"Do we need to go into hiding?" Zara finally asked, breaking the tense silence in the room.

"I don't know. Let Sam and I collect more information and get back to you okay? Stay in Sam's room since they'll probably check this room and mine. Stay there and do not answer the door for anyone." Steve said as he started to collect his things.

"They'll check Sam's room too." Bucky said as he stood up. "All of you will fall under suspicion. I need to go." He added before he turned to Zara with a sad expression. "I'm doing this to protect you." He said before he grabbed a bag and started packing.

Zara took the bag from his hands and tossed it away. "You don't get to decide what is best. I married you. For better or for worse. I am going with you." She said with tears in her eyes.

"I can't let you get arrested or killed because of me Zara! You almost died once! I'm not letting you suffer because of me!" Bucky protested.

Steve and Sam stood there in silence as they watched Zara and Bucky stare at each other. "I think Bucky is right." Steve said causing Zara's attention to turn to him.

"Of course you think he's right." She snapped as she struggled to keep her anger under control. "He's talking about running." She added, looking back to her husband.

"Zara, I have hurt and killed a lot of people. They're probably already coming for me. I can't let you watch another person you love get taken away from you." Bucky said, taking a step towards her. He watched her eyes fill with tears and take a second before nodding.

Without another word, Bucky started to pack again and Zara watched Steve leave the room. Sam was the one to offer some comfort. "We'll be outside when you're ready Zara." He said with a nod before walking out.

No words were spoken between the couple as Zara watched Bucky pack the essentials. He looked over at her and paused. They silently met in the middle of the room and held each other. Zara clung to her husband, who had given her everything she needed since she met him. Bucky held his wife, who had helped him realize that he wasn't the monster he thought he was.

"You'll see me again, hopefully soon." Bucky whispered into her hair. Zara looked up at him and nodded, unable to say anything without crying. They kissed gently and wished the moment to last longer, but they pulled away after a second.

Zara stepped back from Bucky and nodded. She smiled a little at her husband. "I love you." She whispered before walking around him and heading for the door.

"I love you too." Bucky said from his spot in the room, watching her walk away from him. He knew he was going to figure out a way to get back to her as soon as he possibly could.

Zara's heart broke as she opened the door and stepped out into the hallway. Steve and Sam nodded to each other before walking down the hallway to the elevator. Zara followed the two, and stayed silent as they talked about their plan.
