After a long hard day of classes I found myself laying down on my couch staring at a blank tv screen. Everything went by smoothy , expect for the fact that Justin wasn't in any classes today. Of course the one day where I had to ask him something he wasn't there. It's like our moment by the fountain yesterday escalated him into a form of depression. I knew I should have waved at him when I saw that wave last night. Only I just couldn't form myself to do it. I hated the fact that I had to walk away and leave him there in a sea of sadness.

I quickly got up as a nock broke through my thoughts. I ran over to the door.

"What the hell are you doing here? I thought this was Jasmine's room?"

I groaned as the voice of my worst nightmare spoke through the small crack that prevented her from entering.

"This is but this is also mine. What do you want?"

I barked as I just wished for her to disappear.

"Oh nothing I was just expecting Jasmine. That's all. I will come back later."

Lilly sighed.

"Or how about you don't come back at all."

I mumbled very quietly to myself.

"What?"

My eyes widened at the thought of Lilly hearing my obnoxious comment.

"Nothing I will sadly see you later."

I responded as I shut the door.

I was just about to shut the door when Andy came barging through. He quickly turned on the news. I just stood there quite in shock over his obnoxious behavior. However as the news flashed through my mind I knew he had a reason towards his sudden approach.

( tv reporter )

"It has come to my attention to announce the departure of our beloved waitress Maria Campbell. Upon her evening of the resting hours an intruder decided to make her night a living nightmare as where all her fears would come true. If you have known Maria she was known for bringing happiness into our hearts as she served and cooked most of our dinners... 

As the news reporter continued to speak upon words of sorrow I remained within fright myself. I couldn't move as they showed our beloved diner waitress's body being transferred out of her own home and into an ambulance.

No one knows who could have caused such a deviating death. However many are beginning to mourn her loss as supports of our local dinner gather together to create an memorial for her. The time of death isn't set in stone as everyone is gathering together to help solve the mystery of Maria Campbell. Did she have any enemies? Does anyone know if she was receiving any trouble before her attack? If anyone has any questions and any concerns towards this mystery please give us a call at the number under her picture. One more shot of our diner remained on the screen , until another deep voice spoke.

"Wow that is very devastating indeed. It's such a loss to some as our BayPort diner will not be the same without Maria. The thing that is driving all of us crazy is the information that just came in moments ago before this was informed to you. It seems like her death wasn't no accident as whenever the name McCann is involved it never is."

As the news reporter gave out the sudden news my mouth dropped open. Thousands of thoughts started to escalate through my mind. Of course they all had to tie down to him.

"What the hell?"

I finally spoke as Andy finally shut off the tv.

"Yeah tell me about it. The crazy thing is we just saw her last night. To think that we almost see her every night and now that we won't. It's just heart breaking. She made the best waffles around. I am gonna miss her."

Andy sighed as he ran his hand through his short hair.

"It's not that. Well yes it is that too but why the hell would they think that McCann has done it? Do they have any proof? This can't be the truth. He's been quiet for so many years why start now?"

Andy suddenly looked up from his hands. As I noticed his look devastation was written all over.

"Do you know anything about this?"

I asked as I folded my arms across my chest.

"Look there just throwing out names of criminals so that someone could be at blame here. They obviously aren't revealing any details just yet. We can't start to live our lives in fear again just because he might be back. We don't know yet. We will know in time , however we don't know now. Please Serenity please don't get all hung up over the past. You need to move forward from him and realize that he could never hurt you again."

 With Andy's kind words tears started to slip. Easy for him to say , he didn't lose his mother due to a physco killer. However although I know it all leads down to him , we still don't know who really did it. Just like how it is now. Everyone's just assuming it's him but who is him really?

"Serenity look I know your upset and the past wasn't easy for you. However your in college now and soon you will be living out your dream and soon this guy of yours will finally be within your hands, and he finally will be captured. This case could also be just some freak trying to imitate him. Don't go freaking out just because we think it's him. Until we know the truth promise me you wont' get yourself all worked up over this?"

I closed my eyes as I silently cursed at Andy. Of course he had to force a promise upon me which we all know that I won't keep. I just sighed and I allowed that sigh to become my answer.

"Okay but where do we go for dinner tonight? Obviously we can't go to our usual spot. With a new friend upon us we wouldn't want to take him to a devastating scene."

I question which of course led Andy to follow my previous sigh.

"We can't just forget the diner. Maria wouldn't want us to. I feel like I have to have a waffle tonight just for her."

Andy spoke as he stood up from the couch.

"You guys are speaking of dinner and I am hungry. Where to?"

I cursed as Jasmine's voice spoke upon her entry.

"Do you really wanna hang out with these idiot's? I really don't feel the need of a welcoming invitation. We could have our own fun here with the boys."

"Come on Andy , let's go the night is just beginning."

Andy and I left the apartment before we could hear anything else from Jasmine and Lilly. God only know's what there going to be doing with the boys and I sure as hell don't want to know.

"I can't believe where actually doing this. Serenity you know your crazy right?"

Paige asked as we slowly approached Justin's door.

"Crazy's my middle name. Don't wear it out."

I smirked as I made a stop in front of room number ten. The letters ten flashed before us in gold letters. I gulped as I could feel my nervous starting to kick in. However those nervous only grew more as a loud bang caused me to flinch. Of course Paige took three steps back and Andy just stood there with a petrified glance.

"I will not let you destroy me!" 

A cry soon followed as another bang , this time shattering soon filled our ears.

"Okay maybe this is a bad idea."

Paige quietly spoke as fear clearly laced her choice of words.

I just rolled my eyes at her quick judgement.

Just as I was about to make my approach my fists stopped in mid air as another cry soon worried my heart.

"I will not not this time around. I have overcame you and I will once again. You will not destroy me and you will not destroy my future just like how you destroyed my past. I am in control now not you!"

Quietness soon overfilled the hallway as one more bang rattled through the walls. I however didn't allow that cry to effect my next move. My fists soon quieted the quietness as I finally made my approach.

Within minutes the door finally halfway opened.

I moved back a little just to take in is broken expression. He only allowed half of his face to show as he glared dangerously at me. It was within that glare that I couldn't help but to notice just how dark his eyes really were. That chocolate color no longer existed as a fog of grey clouded his glossy eyes.

I blinked a few times as I couldn't help but to notice the way how he looked from me to Andy then to Paige with such distaste. This wasn't the boy who I helped just yesterday. This is somebody different. Someone that a part of me didn't want to know.

"What do you want?"

That weak but strong voice broke through the awkwardness that now took over the quietness.

"Hey um I hope you remember me but I am the girl who helped you out in class yesterday. I am Serenity and these are my friends Andy and Paige. You never met Paige but do you remember Andy and I?"

I silently cursed at myself for how pathetic I sounded.

"I could never forget you."

I couldn't help but to smile as his voice sounded stronger upon each word that he spoke.

"Now what do you want from me?"

That smile soon faded as his voice sounded more demanding then welcoming. 

"I.. um , I was just wondering if you would like to join us for dinner? We are going to someplace new tonight and we where wondering if you would like to test out this new place with us?"

"Aw I thought we where going to the diner? What about my waffle dedication?"

I turned my head towards the side and gave Andy a look that told him if he wouldn't shut up he would be the next one to be found dead. That obviously caused him to shut up as a gulp escaped his lips.

"That's um, very thoughtful of you guys to include me , Andy you could get your waffle the diner sounds just fine. Give me a few minutes."

Nothing but the sound of forks and spoons scattering across the plates is heard within the diner walls. Our table was so quiet that if you listened closely you could hear the sounds of other people's conversations. I tired not to listen too much on the convo that the guy next to us was having on the phone. Only I finally allowed myself to look over towards him as the word fuck fell out of his mouth. Apparently that fuck was soon followed by a slam of the fists hitting the table , which of course caused his drink to spill over him.

A chuckle lightly spilled out of Paige's mouth. I couldn't help but to laugh slightly to myself as I watched him quickly stand up. A waitress ran over with towels. He grabbed one from her hand and mumbled a quick thank you which soon followed by asking for the check.

"I sure as hell wouldn't want to be that guy."

Andy quietly mumbled.

"Yeah same."

I added.

"But sometimes you are that guy."

Andy added which caused my face to turn red from embarrassment.

"I can't argue with you on that one."

I sighed as I went back to eating my salad.

"It's okay. I could be pretty clumsy myself. I managed one time to fall up the stairs with my backpack on. Which caused some laughs. But is it bad that I laughed at myself as well?"

I looked up from my food as I heard Justin's voice finally joining in with our useless conversation.

"That's taking clumsy to a whole new level." 

I smiled as I took a sip from my coke.

As I smiled upon his voice I couldn't help but to notice the fact of how different he looked. I couldn't help but to noticed that he changed his causal attire for something worth looking at. His sports attire was changed for some jeans and a camouflage light jacket. Black ripped jeans showed his knees as his black vans covered his feet. His long hair was pulled back into a new slick look. I couldn't help but to notice that you could actually see his face.

I quickly looked back down at my plate as I caught myself staring. But that didn't take long as I stole another glance towards his direction to notice a smile appearing at his lips.

"You are one interesting guy Justin."

Paige finally spoke which caused me to look within her direction. I knew she would come along.

"Thanks. I like to think so myself."

He slightly laughed as he took a sip from his drink which contained of sprite.

"So guys I would like to thank you for coming to our diner even after everything that has happened. Making this waffle was pretty hard as that was her specialty. I appreciate the dedication though. All of us who still work here appreciate the fact that you all are still remaining here after everything that has happened within these short few hours of night."

A sad smile spread across my face as I watched the owner of our favorite diner hand Andy his meal. I swear if you looked closely you could see  water reaming upon Andy's brown eyes.

"Maria was an amazing waitress and did this diner justice. She will be missed however we couldn't leave our favorite diner in the past due to some freak accident. We will still be your favorite usuals."

Andy reassured the owner as he just nodes his head in agreement to Andy's kind speech.

"Enjoy your meal everyone."

He smiled before he walked off.

Hours soon drifted as the four of us laughed like we were all good friends since middle school. I couldn't help but to smile every time Justin's laughter caused us to gain some looks.

As our night came to end we all started fighting over the bill. Finally we found a way. It was only within that short time when I noticed something unusual.

"Serenity come on. The diners waiting for us to close. Let's not leave them waiting upon us."

I couldn't move from my spot as Justin jogged back towards my stand. I didn't even flinch as I felt his hand brush up against mine. 

I closed my eyes in hopes that when I opened them again that small craving of a heart with the words J.M carved into the plate that Andy ate one would disappear. Only deviation took it's mark as when I opened my eyes the message was still there. It's him and he's back. I knew it.
