--All I Wanna Say Is That They Don't Really Care About Us
Jodeci were stressing.
Seriously stressing.
Asides from the note in which K-Ci had handwritten to everyone?
They hadn't really heard from the dude all day.
They didn't have any (open air) concerts today, so they therefore had today free. Most of today was lowkey just spent staring at the phone, waiting for K-Ci to pick up.
They had done so before and they had done so now. Jojo was sitting down on the arm of the sofa chair, with Dalvin and DeVante on the other hand standing up.
Jojo broke the silence by groaning.
"Forget it, y'all! K-Ci doesn't care about us," he semi-yelled. "If he did, then he would have called us for sure by now but he hasn't."
"Let's not jump to conclusions about anything now, Jojo," DeVante soothed. "Maybe he's just busy or something."
So busy that he had to forget about Jodeci entirely?
He had even promised them that he would have checked up on them from time to time, via his letter that he had written to them.
"No, he didn't, Jojo..."
"Yeah, well I thought he did, Dalvin!" Jojo had screeched from the top of his lungs, folding his arms.
Damn, if one person had gotten them all worked up?
Then goodness knew what would have happened if one of them had died.
Truth be told, K-Ci was actually planning on calling them now. They just didn't realise it yet, until right now.
The phone rang.
DeVante had picked it up immediately and he gasped.
"Who is it?" Dalvin wanted to know.
"It's K-Ci!"
They had all panicked yet screamed happily like little children had done when they had seen the ice cream van or something.
DeVante had given the phone to Dalvin, who had given it to Jojo because he wanted to talk to K-Ci the most out of all of them.
He didn't know what to say to him but he had picked up the phone call.
"Ay yo man, what's up?" He had asked nonchalantly, as if he wasn't expecting to hear from it at all... which was the opposite thing.
Dalvin and DeVante had slightly condemned Jojo for replying that way, asking him why he had replied that way in the first place.
But hey, at least he had picked up the phone.
They had just passed it around.
K-Ci: What's up, you guys?
Jojo had told K-Ci that he would have put him on speaker for all of them to hear him and not just Jojo himself instead.
Jojo: We were so worried about you, bro. We ain't heard from you all day.
"Yeah, we were worried that you didn't care about us no more, or that something bad had happened to you instead," Dalvin had added, sitting down next to Jojo on the arm in the sofa.
Ironically, they had sat on the arm of the sofa more than the sofa itself. Dalvin and Jojo had done that anyway. DeVante didn't.
"Of course I care about you guys, I was just really busy," K-Ci had explained to them candidly. "Also if I used my phone most especially to talk to you guys then that would have been disrespectful. Why bring up Jodeci at Serenity Falls? Y'all get what I mean?"
Yeah they did.
But how on Earth did he manage to talk to them now?
That was kinda suspicious....
"Serenity Falls is having a concert in about half an hours' time and I thought why not invite you guys? And yoooo, y'all should listen to their songs! It's dope."
Then he had started rapping the fictional bit to their song Like You've Never Seen Before.
I open the door
The girls want more
'Cause I'm so so fly
Like you ain't ever seen before
Damn
Look who showed up
When people see me at the party
They be like
"Holdddd up!"
"You want us to come to your concert for real?" DeVante had added, coming up to the rest of them on the sofa. "And that songs sounds pretty dope."
"Yeah, why not?" K-Ci beamed on the other end of the phone. "It'll be fun. I'll give y'all some time to think about it. Also, I ain't ever forgotten about you lot. Just 'cause I'm in another group now don't suddenly mean that you guys don't exist to me."
He had put them on hold.
This seemed like a really good idea.
But what would Serenity Falls have thought if they had seen them?
