Tutor
So turns out Jimin really did get stuck tutoring Y/n.
One week after that fiasco her grades slipped a little more and she begged for his help. Like the good teacher he is he agreed. Jimin approaches her apartment with a sigh. This is a terrible idea. He's already attached enough as is to her. This will only make it worse. She told him that her roommate dropped out last minute so she's alone in her apartment. It's not an uncommon occurrence, when Jimin was in college he had not one but two roommates drop out at the beginning of the year, leaving him alone. Not that he was complaining. More alone time yay!
Jimin quickly makes sure his appearance is okay before knocking on the door. He's wearing casual clothes now. Sweatpants, sneakers, and a long sleeve black shirt. Nothing out of the ordinary. His black hair still has those orange tints in it that he's famous for. Everyone adores them but he was thinking of going back to plain black... maybe even silver or red. Seems like a change of pace might clear his mind for a day or two. Maybe he'll get distracted by his hair and look at himself in the mirror so much it'll take his mind off Y/n. Maybe... or maybe not.
The door opens, revealing a cute Y/n standing there. Dammit she's adorable with her blouse and jeans, dog socks on but no shoes. Ugh she's wearing animal socks that's just... ugh Jimin's heart is melting. "Hey Mr. Park. Come on in, we were just talking about you." Jimin goes still, "we?" Y/n hums, "come see for yourself." Jimin slowly nods and enters, her closing the door behind him.
It's a standard apartment really. A kitchen, a small dining and living area, then a hallway that leads to the bathroom and two bedrooms. It's nothing fancy. But what's really fancy is that four people are sitting at the table in the corner. Jungkook, Taehyung, Hoseok, and Seulgi. Jimin lights up upon seeing the familiar boys. "Hey guys what's going on?" Jimin excitedly greets. The boys hop up and rush over to group hug Jimin, who chuckles and returns their embrace.
"We've missed you so much!" Hoseok dramatically whines. "I've missed you more. Why don't you ever stop by and visit?" Jimin asks with a pout. "We thought you'd come by and visit us!" Jungkook replies. Once they part Jimin gives each of their shoulders a pat. "It's good to see you guys." He nods to Seulgi, "you too." She nods, "hey Mr. Park." He does a small wave before turning back to Y/n.
"So what is this a study group I'm joining?" "No, we're going to my room," she explains. His eyes almost pop out of his head. He's... going to help her study... in her room? Is she insane? She wants Park Jimin alone with her in her room? Is she actually out of her God damn mind? If Yoongi was here, Jimin would be dead by now. Literally he'd be getting beaten to a pulp for breathing the same air as her. Then he'd be stomped on for being in her apartment. Then he'd be hit in the head with a baseball bat eighteen thousand times for being alone with her in her room. Well... there's one pro to this. Alone time with Y/n. Wait Jimin calm down it's not that deep you're studying. Nothing else.
"Alright I'm gonna steal my teacher and we'll be back soon. You're more than welcome to stay, plenty of food in the fridge so help yourself as long as it's not my chocolate... I will literally bite your ears off," Y/n threatens. "Are you tall enough to do that?" Hoseok asks. "Maybe not but I'll kick you in the balls to make you lean down," she replies with a forceful smile. Jimin almost snorts. Okay so she's sassy and attractive and strong and funny and intelligent- oh fuck he's falling for her isn't he?
"Let's go," Y/n chimes, grabbing Jimin's hand and dramatically pulling him away. He yelps at both the sudden feeling of being pulled and her grabbing his hand. The skin contact brings sparks to his heart. No no no Park Jimin back away this is so bad! You're in deep shit now buddy! Jimin gulps as she brings him inside her small room, closing the door behind them. "Okay I have my textbook here," she starts, "you can sit on my bed. Sorry, I know it's not very comfortable. Definitely not as comfortable as yours."
Jimin chuckles as he plops his big ass down on her mattress. It creaks underneath him, Jimin bouncing a little bit on it. "You know my mattress isn't really that comfortable." She goes to her desk and hums while gathering her books and papers. "Oh yeah?" He nods despite her back facing him. "Yeah. I bought the cheapest one I could find. I'm not exactly rich... I don't have a stable job yet. Not to mention I don't have a partner so no one to help financially. Just a stupid starter house that was easy enough to get a mortgage for."
When she turns around holding her book, he sighs. "Sorry, I'm pretty boring. Don't be an adult, it sucks." "I am an adult," she points out. "Shit." She chuckles and sits next to him. He guides her to the proper page numbers, him softly humming while reading the section from over her shoulder. After a few moments of reading, she looks up at him. He didn't even realize how close they are until he feels her breath hitting his face.
"You hum a lot don't you?" "So do you," he whispers. "Look at that Mr. Park, another thing in common. Still too different?" Fuck he likes her. He softly smiles, "maybe not. Let's see how well you do on this lesson then we can talk some more and find out okay?" She cutely nods and turns her head to her textbook. "Ugh, boring." "Boring? This is supposed to be the fun stuff," Jimin points out. "I don't care about learning how to project my voice though. All these vocal exercises are stupid." "They won't be stupid when you do them right and get the highest marks possible," he points out.
She purses her cute lips in thought. "Okay... you're right." "I'm sorry could you repeat that?" "Cheeky bastard," she mumbles before standing and placing the textbook on the mattress. "What are you doing?" Jimin asks with furrowed brows. "Well this is about projecting my voice, right? Shouldn't I like make up a script as I go along and you can correct my voice from there?" Jimin places both of his palms on the bed and nods. "Sure. Why not."
Y/n clears her throat and stands as still as possible, him laughing. "Miss L/n, your voice will be tense if you don't move a muscle." She sighs and relaxes a little bit, but only a little bit. "Talk with your hands. It's a good exercise to get your body used to moving while talking. We can add more specific movements to match your emotion later, for now let's focus on getting you comfortable okay? Remember what I went over on Friday?"
She sighs, "the key to good acting is not to freeze up. Relax and do what feels right in the moment, even if it means improvising." Jimin hums, "that's exactly what we're doing right now. Improv. Now go ahead, give me a show Miss L/n." She goes still, looking at him with doe eyes. He raises a brow, "what?" "Sorry - took that the wrong way." He blushes and averts his eyes, "t-this is supposed to be a professional appointment Miss L/n."
The girl laughs, "I thought we were allowed to treat each other differently outside the classroom Mr. Park." He sighs and turns to face her again, "you're annoying." "Not as annoying as you professor. Now can I start?" "If you're done causing trouble, sure," he remarks. She smirks but decides against replying. After a moment she regains her composure and falls into a serious mood.
"I fell in love for the first time when I was seventeen," she starts in a loud tone. Jimin holds up his hand, "sorry to cut you early, but projecting doesn't mean shouting. It means clearly and in a dominating manner. You don't need to be loud. Just be clear. Speak with confidence but not too loudly. Since this isn't an emotional scene keep good posture for better breathing. Don't breath too shallowly either, take normal or deep breaths. Okay?" She nods and starts again, keeping a better posture but still somewhat relaxed.
"When I was seventeen I fell in love for the first time," she starts again, her tone much softer but definitely clearer. "I grew up in a decent home, lived a decent childhood. I was perfectly normal," she continues, "then I met him... his name was Jacob, and I fell in love right away." There's a twinge of pain in her voice, drawing Jimin in closer. He finds himself entranced by the way she's speaking... the way her hands and body moves with her. It's superb.
"He was my best friend in the whole world. We... we did everything together. For a full year we hung out almost every day. We laughed and cried, saw the darkest parts of each other. There were days where I hated my body and starved myself. He was there for that. Then days where he wanted to die. I was there for that too. I was so in love with him... but he wasn't in love with me." She breaks off to sniffle, Jimin completely under her spell. "He rejected me harshly in front of all my friends. I thought we were at the very least best friends... I thought he wouldn't do that to me, but it turns out he did. He used me to have someone by his side the whole time. Like a pet. So... I went out to a party and got drunk."
Jimin's breath gets caught in his throat while she takes in shaky but deep breaths. Perfect. "I was underage but didn't care. It was my first time getting drunk and I had no support. My family thought I was at a sleepover, my friends were just as far gone as I was, and there was no good way home. I walked and... that was the night I got jumped. They took everything from me. Beat me, stole my wallet, but most importantly they stole the bracelet Jacob gave me to signify our friendship. On one hand that was the worst loss of my life... on the other it felt like losing that bracelet helped me moved on. Maybe that's why I was able to move on with my life and realize that I should focus on myself. That I should be myself and never let a guy use me again. I love myself thanks to that, even if I had to break myself first..."
As soon as she finishes she wipes one of her tears away and Jimin breaks out clapping. She looks at him and sheepishly smiles, "was it good?" "It was amazing Y/n. I would've given you a hundred right away," he whispers with awe in his eyes. Holy shit... pretty, smart, and beyond talented. That was... wow. "How did you come up with that on the spot like that? That was such a beautiful story." Y/n sighs and shakes her head, "maybe because I wasn't making it up at all." Jimin's eyes widen once he realizes what she means. Then it hits him: the tears she has are real. That's what makes him rush into action.
He pushes the textbook aside and hops off the bed, practically running to her and bringing her in his embrace. She's quick to return it, her arms wrapping around his back and clinging onto him like her life depends on it. "Shh... it's okay," he whispers while stroking her hair. "You're so strong princess. Going through all that? I'm so sorry... please tell me you're careful with your drinking..." "I don't drink anymore. Not since then," she murmurs. "Good... I'm so sorry Y/n."
She pulls back to look at him with those beautiful eyes of hers. "Thank you for being here," she suddenly says. He brushes her tears away with his thumbs and offers her a kind smile. "I'm not just your teacher Y/n... I'm your friend." Her eyes light up, "do you mean that?" "Of course I do. How can I not be friends with my best friend's best friend?" She laughs at that mouthful of a sentence. "You're a lot different than I thought Jimin..." He raises a brow, but she answers his unspoken question by pulling him back into the hug. "But not in a bad way..." He lets out a breath and rests his chin on the top of her head. Being this close to her... hearing her story... knowing her personality... he knows it for sure. He likes her. It's dangerous and he knows it, but he can't stop his heart from beating faster around her...

A/N: Totally random but fun fact, as I'm sure many of you know I'm in college. In school I have a tutor for my Korean classes and she's a Jimin bias :) We get along very well :)
