CHAPTER ONE:  Starting To Panic He Grabs You In His Arms

You and your best friend are shopping at the mall on your day off. You both step on the escalator going down.

You are unaware that a young man and his friend are on the other side going up and they were in an animated conversation with each other.

You are having such a great time with your best friend Jen. You both are also having a lively conversation when you swung your right arm out for emphases while holding your bags in your left hand, when she gasped.

Suddenly you felt a pull and your sleeve was caught on something. It was pulling your arm up as you were moving down.

You look to see what your sleeve is caught on and see that your long lacy sleeve is caught on a young mans ring. He is frantically trying to get his ring loose.

Your friend grabs your bags so you could use your free hand to get the lace free. He turned as did you, neither looking up busy trying to become unstuck.

He is having to walk down the up escalator as you are having to walk up the down escalator hoping your sleeve would not get torn.

It's your favorite blouse and you don't want it ruined. You both are going no where trying to stay in place struggling to free yourselves.

You are starting to panic afraid you may get injured on the escalator.

Suddenly you are lifted over the rail and hauled to his side. You are still trying to remove your caught sleeve from his ring. Next thing you know you are being set on your feet at the top of the escalator and being pulled aside to let others by.

Jimin's friend was clearing the way to the top so Jimin could get you safely off the escalator. Your friend Jen had to take the escalator the rest of the way down then get on the one going up to catch up with you.

When Jen reaches the top she smiles and acknowledges Jimin's friend. He smiles a cute boxy smile back. They both stand there watching the two of you.

You look up at the man your sleeve is caught on and suddenly your breath catches and you can't breath, his voice is familiar. He is concentrating on getting his ring free from your sleeve that he hasn't looked up at you, his hair is covering his face.

He says, "I'm so sorry" he was able to pull his ring off and it dangles from your sleeve, "There, it should be easier to get free from the lace now." he says as he start to look up at you.

You both inhale a breath of surprise. He calls you by the nickname he gave you years ago "Yummy?" he says as the same time you say "Jimin?"

You are in shock you can't believe it's him. He smiles even brighter as he takes your hand.

"It seems I've finally caught you." He jests as you both laugh, looks into your eyes and softly says "It took me long enough."

He takes a hold of your hand that has the sleeve which his ring is still attached too. He smiles as he works it off without damaging the lace. You both laugh with relief and he takes you in a hug.

You turn shining eyes up to him "I haven't seen you in forever. How have you been. . ." then you look sheepishly down, "I, I mean I know you are doing well, I have seen your face everywhere on everything."

He grins "Well, mine and six others. We have been very busy and I'm doing well."

He looks softly into your eyes "I should have stayed in touch. How have you been?" His smile drops from his face, "I'm so sorry I haven't."

You adjust your lace cuff "It's ok Jimin. I understand." You look at him and wonder what is he thinking just as he steps closer.

He moves to stand directly in front of you using his shortened version of the nickname he gave you, "Yum, I think there is more to this. . ."

He gestures at his ring and then your sleeve "Than we know. "

Surprised by his words you look up at him "What do you mean?"

"I have missed you and I should have stayed in touch but it seems the universe stepped in for me . . . for us."

You gently smile at him, "Don't worry, I know how busy you've been."

He frowns and shakes his head ready to speak.

CHAPTER TWO: I Wanted To Catch You For My Self

You try to explain, "My brother is in training for being an idol and believe me I know" More seriously you say "He hardly gets any time to himself now that their debut is fast approaching. We are close but I hardly hear from him, but I understand."

You place a hand gently on the side of Jimin's face and softly say with sincerity "So, I do understand."

He lowers his head in sadness then looks back at you "Would you mind if we spend some time together, getting to know each other . . . again?"

His eyes look so sincere and full of hope. Feeling shy yet excited he wanted to be with you.

"I, um, well if you have the time I would like that, Jimin. But I don't want to be a distraction."

He suddenly smiles and laughs, "Too late, you have been a distraction for years now, only I was too blind to see if for what it was."

You looked confused and ask "What do you mean Jimin?"

Not ready to answer your question, just yet, he changes the subject and distracts you by kissing your hand.

Still holding your hand he says, "Lets have dinner tonight. I'll have a driver pick you up, say about 10?"

"Jimin that is such a late time for dinner, are you sure?"

He grins "Most times that is an early dinner for me and the others. Besides where I want to take you is use to us showing up at odd hours."

You smile at him "I would love to have dinner with you."

Jen and his friend had already introduced themselves to each other and they are just standing there smiling watching the two of you.

Jimin's friend says "Hey, what about us?"

Jen says "Yeah, did you forget we're here too?"

You and Jimin turn to your friends "Oh, I'm sorry, Jimin this is my best friend Jen" Jen smiles at him.

Jimin says "Hi Jen" and smiles cutely then points at his friend. "This is my best friend Taehyung."

He says "Will you both like to join us for dinner?"

Taehyung smiles at Jen and they both answer "Yes, we would."

It seems they became friends while waiting. You grin at Jen and she smiles at you and does a quick wink and glance at Taehyung. It's her secret signal that she likes him, you can't help but smile.

At dinner that night, after eating Jen and Taehyung decided to go to a late night karaoke bar nearby leaving you and Jimin alone.

You ask him, "Jimin, you never answered my question earlier today. What did you mean when you said that I have been a distraction for years ?"

He scoots closer to you and places his hand over yours. "What I meant is you have always been on my mind and it shouldn't have been left to fate to bring us together again."

Seeing your confusion he continues, "It should have been me who made the effort to keep in touch. Especially knowing how I feel about you."

You look at him questioningly "How you feel about me?"

He says "Yes, I was in love with you then and kept trying to catch you for myself. But I was always overwhelmed by shyness and you found others to be with."

CHAPTER THREE:  You Think I Would Do Something Like That To My Best Friend?

You look at him your eyes feeling misty, "You loved me?"

He shakes his head "No."

You frown confused you thought he just said he was in love with you back then.

He tips your face up to his and looks you directly in the eyes, "I love you. I have never stopped. Now that I caught you, just like my ring and your sleeve, I don't want to let go." He takes both of your hands in his and holds them warmly.

"I'm so happy, I'd almost given up hope." You are still smiling "I was hoping you would catch me but it seemed just as you were about to, you suddenly would back away."

He blushes and looks sad, "I wanted you, but was too shy . . . wait, you wanted me to catch you?"

He lowers his head and says "I didn't think I was good enough for you." He raises his head with such a uncertain look on his face.

Your heart melts as you scoot closer to Jimin looking deeply into his eyes, "Oh Jimin, you are perfect for me. I wanted you to catch me."

Taking his hands in yours you say "Jimin, I need to ask you something."

With an unsure look he says "Ok, you know you can ask me any thing."

You blush cutely as you say, "Jimin, now that you caught me, will you promise to never let me go?"

A beautiful smile breaks across his face as he pulls you close "I promise never to let go" and he seals his promise with a kiss.

You pull away long enough to say "I'm thoroughly caught." He smiles then shifts his eyes to your lips and you kiss him.

You send a text to your friend to let her know you are going over to Jimin's and not to wait up.

Your friend looks at Tae after reading the text "Well, well, it's about time. All she ever talked about was him."

Taehyung's curiosity is peaked, "What's going on?"

"She just texted me not to wait up for her, seems she it going over to Jimin's."

Taehyung smiles a boxy smile and leans close whispering, "I have something to tell you." she scoots closer to him and he says "I knew he was in love with her."

Jen is surprised, "How?"

Grinning he says "He actually wrote her letters but never sent them."

Intrigued she looks at Tae "How do you know?"

He devilishly says "I have my ways of finding things out." He laughs "But seriously I always found them in the wastebasket crumbled up, never finished."

She leans close and with a conspiratorial whisper "Did you read them?"

Taehyung gasps in shock "You think I would do something like that to my best friend?"

She starts to blush with embarrassment when he laughs and says, "How do you think I knew?" and they both quietly laugh as he takes a hold of her hand.

They look into each others eyes as they gradually lean even closer toward each other but the spell is broken when they are called up for their turn at karaoke. Laughing they head up to the stage hand in hand.
