City Lights

All I could think about was the kiss. My mind kept replaying the part where we finally kissed. She tasted like cinnamon and frosting. Kind of like Cinnabon, but better. Her lips were so soft, like two marshmallows. Great, now I'm in the mood for some s'mores.

It was New Years Eve and Allison invited Scott and I to celebrate the new year. It's funny how we all got pretty close in a month.

"Dad, is it cool if I could celebrate New Years with some friends?"
"But your relatives are going to be here. And I thought it would be nice to celebrate New Years together."
"No offense dad, but every New Years here can get a bit mundane. It won't hurt if I'm not around, just for today."
He was pondering, walking in small steps around the kitchen. He closes his eyes as he finally reaches me. "Okay. Fine."
"Yes! Thanks dad! Ahh you're the best!" I said hugging him then rushing up my room.

It was a pajama themed get-together, so I wore a plain gray shirt paired with a very comfy pj. I got in my jeep and drove all the way to Scott's house. He gave me directions to Allison's house.

"10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2! 1! Happy New Year!" Everyone yelled, feeling with invigoration and jubilation. The cheers and hugs from everyone was very warming. We acted like family. We are family. We played many fun games. One was where a deck of cards was thrown everywhere and the person to find the Ace of Hearts would get $10. Course with my awesome instincts and intelligence, I found the Ace and received $10.

Around 3am, everyone was knocked out. Scott and I had to sleep in the living room because there's not enough beds for us. This occasion was a surprise to Allison's dad. I was the only one awake. I couldn't sleep when I'm around a new environment. Plus, I can't sleep without my pillow. As I was thinking about really random stuff, I heard a door open, so I pretended to sleep. I squinted my eyes to see who it was, and it was Lydia.

"Can't sleep either, huh." I said murmuring, walking up to Lydia.
"Yeah. I thought that drinking warm milk would help."
"Sometimes. But I know what can help. Come with me."
"Where?" Lydia said, unsure if I should be trusted.
"Uhh, it's a surprise. Now, let go." I said in a insinuated way.
"I'm going to regret this." she said letting out a sigh.

We drove up to a huge hill, showing the empty city. We both sat down on the cold, soft grass. The sky had this ombré affect, but the stars made it look even more beautiful. The city lights fits perfectly with the dark morning. Lydia gazed in amassment and awe.
"There's really nothing prettier than a city at 3am with empty streets and calming winds. And the city lights combined with the bright stars is just breath taking." Lydia saying with the cold wind blowing through her hair. How can she look so desirable without even trying?
"I could think of something even prettier than this." I said charming her. I noticed her looking down, trying to hide her smile.

What are your New Resolutions? Umm... Mine would have to be... to actually accomplish my New Years Resolution. Like, last year for my New Years Resolution was to be less lazy. But what do I do? I do the exact opposite.
