Chapter 17

Summer, yay! So, now I have kind of a summer job where my mother works, so my days off are Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, in which I'll be most likely to update. I'm also going on quite a few trips over the next three months, so I won't be updating a whole lot then. Anyways, thank you all for your patience and your reads, so enjoy!~ Bella

You awoke to gunshots. They were loud, and amplified the pounding behind your eyes tenfold, until it was almost unbearable. You didn't want to open your eyes.
"You're awake." A low hum of a voice, barely audible above the ringing in your ears sounded to your. Your eyes were still closed, but your turned your head in what you thought was the direction of the person who'd spoken. "Are you really not going to open your eyes?" Somehow, without sounding at all real, the voice still generated some degree of amusement with those words. You finally did open them, but brought your hand up to hold your temple... well, tried. You discovered your wrists -- and ankles for that matter -- had been bound with rope, so tightly, it felt like all circulation to your hands was being cut off.
"Who are you?" You made an effort to sound confident, but black was already beginning to seep into your vision, and you instantly trailed off, afraid if you even moved again, you'd loose consciousness.
The person chuckled... something that you knew you'd heard before.
"Your worst nightmare... that ring any bells?"
Your eyes widened as a dark figure stepped out of the shadows. It was him. The man from all those years ago... The man who'd killed your father. You were instantly overcome by rage. You'd thought and thought about what you'd do to that man... how you'd make him pay for everything he'd done to you; to your family.
Another chuckle. "I think you remember, so now, we can get on with it." A dark shudder past through you from head-to-toe.
"W-what?" Your head was pounding slightly less, but now you were completely scared out of your wits.
"I've made too many mistakes, I'll admit that much. But I'm positive I've got the right one now." It sounded almost like he was talking to himself, rather than you, speaking quickly and quietly with the same animal-like voice. Then, he turned to look right at you, though you couldn't see his face under the cloak, it felt like he could see right through you, and see just how scared you were. "You have her eyes, you know." Your heart stopped; who's eyes? What was he talking about?
"You're crazy, let me go!" You spat, tugging at your ropes -- they didn't budge, of course, but you continued to wiggle and squirm in a weak effort to escape.
"You're brave, I give you that," he said, stepping closer. "That doesn't mean I forgive you, however. Not even in the slightest, so don't get your hopes up." Now, you were beyond confused.
"Me, forgiven? What did I do? You're the one who... who..." The lump in your throat finally proved to be too much, and you fell silent, holding back tears.
"It's your fault... it's all your fault. I almost died, and now I live like this," the Man screamed the last part, gesturing violently at the room around him. "I'm going to make you pay... for all you did..."
"I didn't do anything," you sobbed, tears rolling down your red, puffy cheeks. You had never been more scared and confused in your life. All you wanted was Hiro. To see him again, and for him to see you, alive and well. Whoever this man was, he was extremely angry at you, and you could do nothing about it, just sit there and cower.
It was then, you noticed the slumped figure in the far corner. They were crumpled in a ball, still and silent.
"W-who... is that?" You had no idea how you managed to force the words out... but you did, and the man turned to follow your gaze.
"My mistake," was all he said.
