Chapter 10
"(Y/N)? (Y/N)!" Your eyes fluttered open, and you could hear someone calling your name faintly. As your vision grew clearer, you could make out Hiro leaning above you, his expression a mix of worry and relief. "(Y/N)!" he sighed, "are you okay?" Now that you were coming to your senses, memories from the previous night came flooding back -- and almost reflexively, you reached up and smacked him square across the face. He groaned and backed away. "Y-yeah, she's okay..."
"Oh, honey!" You were surprised to see Asia hovering by you. "I'm so glad you're awake! Cass said she found you passed out outside -- and I thought... I-" You smiled and pulled her into a hug, which she gladly returned.
"I'm fine," you croaked, pushing yourself slowly into a sitting position. "B-but where is he?" Asia gave you a questioning look.
"Where's... who?"
"T-the man, that kidnapped me... he said he'd been... watching me..."
"You must have really hit your head," Your sister muttered, giving your forehead a quick kiss, before standing up. She saw Hiro standing behind you, and gave a little sigh. "I'll leave you two alone... Cass should be back soon -- she went out to get (Y/N) some soup." With that, she turned the corner and disappeared into the kitchen.
Hiro walked over to you, hanging his head. For a while, neither of you spoke, just stood there staring at one another.
"What do you want?" You spat, lowering your eyes to the ground.
"(Y/N), I'm... Really sorry about last night, I don't know what I was thinking!" Your eyes began to water, and you scoffed angrily.
"Really? Because I'm pretty sure you had a great time making out with Clare!" Hiro shoved his hands in his pockets.
"I wasn't fully aware what was going on (Y/N) --"
"Because you were drunk Hiro! Drunk! Do you understand how bad this is? You're only sixteen!" You screamed, still fuming.
"It was Clare! I-I don't know. She said to get a drink... and she gave me this stuff -- it wasn't by fault, I didn't know. (Y/N)... Please understand! I-I,"
"You what Hiro? Huh?"
"I-I love you, and I would never do something like that!" He yelled, clenching his fists. Then, he turned, and ran out of the room. You heard him stomp up the stairs and slam his bedroom door.
You sat there a while, your anger completely dissolved, and eventually fell asleep.
"(Y/N)?" You opened your eyes slowly. As you fully regained consciousness, you could see aunt Cass standing over you, a steaming bowl in one hand, and a blanket in the other. "Oh, good! You're awake! Here," she set the bowl in your lap, "I made you some soup." You thanked her, and she spread the blanket out over your legs. "Just let me know if you need anything else dear," she said, and walked out, closing the door behind her.
As you ate, you felt warmth spread through you, all the way to your toes, and you gave a happy sigh once you'd finished off your soup. Deciding to watch a little TV, you grabbed the remote and flipped it on. Since it was so early in the morning, nothing was on, so you changed to the news. A friendly looking reporter flashed on screen, her face grim.
"It has been reported, two more girls, both sixteen, have gone missing. We have reason to assume the same person is behind it, so please be on the lookout!" You guess you'd just come to the end of it, because it changed to a large man, standing in front of a wall with the weather projected onto it. You sighed. "This is getting to be too out of hand..." you muttered to yourself. You didn't care what happened -- you were going to catch this guy!
