Who's The King Pt 2

Mark's POV

My next few days were spent taking care of Jack, getting to know him more, and making sure he could adjust to life here. We talked about video games, food, puns and jokes. It was nice, I actually enjoyed having him around. He was getting better too.

You see the thing about losing your soul is that, you still age you just don't look like it. He could still die of old age, just not look like it. I pushed that thought aside as I opened Jack's door with a try of food in my hand. It was the fifth morning of him being here, he and I were getting along very well. He looked up at me, smiling.

"How ya feeling?"

"Better, thank you." I set the tray of food carefully in his lap. He sat up and started eating, I sat there watching him.

"Erm... Can I help you?" Jack asked, breaking my trance. He cleared my throat and scratched the back of my neck.

"S-sorry." I was looking to the side, embarrassed when I felt a hand on my knee.

"It's okay, I was just wondering." I realized, Jack was a good friend. He set the tray aside once he was done and slowly stood up, he lost his balance so I helped him, he leaned on me for support.

"S-sorry I thought I c-could..." He looked like he was about to cry. I picked him up carefully and laid him back down. I sat closer to him and pet his hair, trying to calm him down.

"It's okay, you'll get stronger." He sat up and gave me a smile. I leaned in before my own thoughts stopped me.

HE'S YOUR FRIEND!!! KISSING IS NOT OKAY!!!

Sometimes I hate my brain, but it was right. I ruffled his hair, hearing him laugh.

"I gotta go do some work, I'll have one of my maids take care of you."

"Alright, don't get too bored." He chuckled as he finished talking.

How could I get bored with him on my mind.

Jack's POV

I turned on the tv, and pulled out my phone. Oh and my question got answered, the wifi password was Shamballa. I checked out instagram, well my new one. Hell had its own version of social media. I opened up my Hellish Posts, I posted a picture that me and Mark had taken together. I'm not gonna lie I LOVED his smile. In the picture he had his arm around my shoulder, we were both smiling, I had my eyes shut. We were sitting on the bed because I can't quite stand. I smiled and scrolled through Mark's profile, he really didn't seem happy in most of the pictures, the last few days he would actually smile in his pictures. I looked at the date and realised that the smiling started on the day I sent the letter.

Did I really make him that happy?

God, I hope I did.

I looked up from my phone when I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in." A girl opened the door, she seemed really cheery.

"Hi, I'm Sherry, one of the maids in the castle. Mark just told me to check up on you. So need anything?"

"No I'm good, thank you." With that she walked out of the room, and closed the door. I wondered what Mark was doing.

Maybe making new rules.

Maybe collecting more souls.

Playing poker with Jesus? Nah, Mark didn't seem like the kind of guy who plays poker.

I spent the next couple hours seeing what kind of tv hell had, it was pretty good. I soon fell asleep, this bed Mark gave me was super comfortable.

Mark's POV

OKAY IT'S VERY POSSIBLE TO GET BOARD WITH JACK ON MY MIND

I was in a meeting, it was boring. I was worried about Jack, I knew he would try and walk again. He could get hurt. I wanted to check on him. Soon the boring-as-ever meeting I ran back to Jack's room. He was sleeping. I sighed, smiling I sat down next to him, petting his hair. He smiled a bit in his sleep, I wanted to cuddle him. I knew better though. I was about to leave when I leaned over and placed a quick kiss on his head before running out.

Dinner rolled around, I took Jack's dinner along with mine up to his room. I almost dropped when he wasn't in his bed. I felt my jaw drop in fear.

"Over here Mark." I looked over to the sound of the voice, Jack was sitting at the desk I had provided. Jack was there, sitting there working on a drawing. I felt that initial fear wash away. I smiled and walked over to see what he was drawing.

"Did you walk?" He chuckled.

"Nope, used a backscratcher to get the spinny chair over to the bed, climbed into it and used the backscratcher again to get over here." Now, that was funny.

"Nice. Well dinner's here." I set down the try of food. He smiled and moved his sketch aside. I sat on the other side of the desk and ate.

"So whatcha drawin?" I asked with a mouthful of food. He slid the paper over to me and I looked. It was an EXTREMELY realistic green eye ball.

"Woah..."

"Thanks Mark."

Jack's POV

It's been a few months since I've been here. I still can't walk, Mark seems worried about it. I loved it here, I had friends, I had a good home, I was happy. I did have a wheelchair now, I loved it. I was speeding down the hallways with Mark chasing me, laughing all the way. I soon skidded to halt and looked at Mark who was out of breath. I laughed and he slugged over to me, he smiled.

"Hey can I talk to you?" I had a feeling I knew where this was going, I've seen the way he's acted around me.

"Sure, what's up?" He pushed my wheelchair and me over to his room. The walls were a deep and lavious red. He lifted me up as if I were his bride. Not gonna lie, I wouldn't mind that. He layed me down on his bed, and it felt like I was on a rather soft mattress. He sat down next to me, I sat up and leaned up against the pillows he had. He grabbed one of my hands and wrapped it with both of his.

"Sean?"

"Yes?" I said, relishing in the warm and soft feeling of his hands.

"I-I um..."He started to mutter something that I couldn't quite make out what it was. He looked down.

"Are you trying to say you want to date me?" His head snapped back up to show his face turning bright red. I chuckled and lifted my other hand up and placed it gently onto the side of his face, bringing him into a kiss. As the kiss got started he wrapped his arms around my waist. I closed my eyes and let my arms wrap around his neck and shoulders. I smiled a bit into the kiss as I felt his velvet lips move on mine. I let out a little whine when he pulled away.

"Yes, but I think you knew that already." I chuckled, still keeping my arms wrapped around him.

"Cuddle?" He smiled and nodded, laying down next to me and pulling me into his side. I drapped my arm over his chest as I rested my head on his shoulder. I smiled when I felt his arm against my back to keep his hand on my side.

"Worth the wait."

"How long have you been dwelling on the question?" I asked, hearing him chuckle and then sigh.

"Probably since the day you got here."

"Awh, sorry Marky, I didn't know I was keeping you waiting." He rubbed my back a bit and kissed my head.

"It's okay, like I said, you're worth the wait."
