Love is Felt

Mark's POV

I held my baby boy close, my little Jackapoo, my boyfriend. His waist felt so small in my arms, he was warm, I could feel his breath against my neck as he slept. The soft blanket we had wrapped around us helped keep us warm, it made me feel a bit safer. I reached up, slowly trying to find where his head was so I could pet his hair, I felt the skin on the back of his head and slowly snaked my hand up to the top of his head. I pet his hair, smiling softly as I felt the locks slip through my fingertips. I kissed his head and rested my head on his, letting my hand fall to his shoulder.

"Mark, you still up?" It was my mom who asked.

"Yeah, Jack's the only one asleep." I heard her footsteps come closer.

"Oh alright, I was just wondering."

"Thanks mom." Her footsteps slowly left the room. I yawned and slowly drifted to sleep, keeping my little angel close. I woke up after what felt like an eternity, but Jack informed me that it had only been a couple hours.

"You wanna listen to some music?I just downloaded that Hamilton thing you wanted to listen too." I could practically feel his smile. I nodded, he started to play the music from what I think was his phone, I had heard a lot about this, I didn't really understand who was talking, but it still sounded good. I think we we're a little more than halfway though I had a realization.

This Alexander Hamilton, had roasted everyone but himself.

Nevermind, the Reynolds Pamphlet, Burn, and Congratulations took care of it.

Jack and I took a break to go out for lunch, he got his license soon after we met so we could go more places without my mom driving us. He helped me into the car like the gentleman he was and drove off.

"So what do you think of Hamilton so far?" Jack asked.

"It seems really good, I would just need to know the characters voices better." I heard him laugh.

"Yeah I think I could only figure out Hamilton's and Burr's." We sat in silence for a while, it was slightly uncomfortable. I didn't like it.

"Where are we heading?" I asked, cutting through the silence like butter.

"We're heading to Olive Garden." That place is good.

"Oh yes! The breadsticks are amazing." I heard him chuckle. I held onto the side door handle, just to know where it was. After a while of quiet driving I heard the car stop and Jack's door open and close. I felt the door handle move underneath my hand, I let go and waited for Jack. We walked in, Jack keeping an arm around mine, I smiled. We were escorted to our table. I knew what I wanted, since we had been here before. I grabbed a breadstick, it was warm and tasted amazing. When the waiter came by I told her that I wanted the Chicken Alfredo. Jack ordered a salad. The restaurant wasn't super busy, the conversations were quiet and not filling the restaurant.

"So how's everything at your house been?" I asked, I knew Jack had told me about his brothers and sisters.

"It's been loud, but that's the normal. How's Chica?" I chuckled.

"Shes good, warm and fluffy as always." I took a sip of my water after organizing my spot. I absolutely loved the way this place smelled. I set down my glass and put my hands under the table, twiddling my thumbs.

"Well that's good, I like Chica." I chuckled, I loved hearing Jack talk.

"Can you tell me a story?" I asked, he gave me a little confused hum.

"Why?" Jack asked.

"I love hearing you talk."

"Well, there once was a girl who was a princess. She was wise and kind, she would always do what was best for her people. She was almost like a mother to them, offering kind words and assistance. Her whole kingdom couldn't wait for her rigne." I placed my elbows up on the table and rested my head in my hands as I listened.

"She wanted to be able to keep them all safe, but she wasn't able to keep herself safe. She had to keep fighting to stay alive. She wasn't sick, she was actually fighting to stay alive. People from other kingdoms thought she would take their people. So they tried to stop her. It didn't work."

"Why didn't it work? Was she magic? Were the people hurting her stopped?" He chuckled.

"She knew she had to stay alive," Jack continued, "She knew she had to be there for her people, plus death isn't exactly something she looked forward too." He paused for a moment, I heard the clink of ice against the glass and a small sigh before he continued. He took a drink.

"She knew she could win, she just knew she had to keep fighting." I felt him put his hand on mine and guide it gently towards the table.

"And I want you to do the same Marky." I smiled and held his hand, rubbing it softly.

"I know you do Jacky." I chuckled, I felt him place a small kiss on my cheek. It made me giddy and giggly. I smiled wider and let all my giggles out.

"Plus your cute."

"I you are too." I replied politely.

"Move your arms Marky, foods coming." I moved my elbows off the table and waited for it to arrive. I heard the slight clinking noise of the plates as the waiter set them down. We thanked them and ate.

I wanted to do something special for Jack. He always told me how much he loved the stars. BOOM STAR GAZING.

Once we were back in the car I asked Jack what time it was.

"It's 8:32, why do you ask?"

"Can you drive us to an open field? Or a park?"

"Erm, sure, but why?"

"You'll see."

"Mark, c'mon, please tell me."

"I promise you'll like it." He sighed reluctantly and drove us to a park, at least that's what he told me. We were sitting in the parking lot.

"Let's find a clear spot." I told him. He held my hand and we walked until he stopped.

"Lay down?" He asked. I smiled and nodded. We laid down in what felt like grass, I kept his hand in mine.

"So will you tell me why we're here now?"

"We're here for you." I told him.

"Wha- Why?" I chuckled wrapped my arm around his shoulders, he rested his head on my arm.

"Because I know you love the stars."

"Thank you Mark but..."

"But what?" Oh god, I did something wrong didn't I... oh no...

"Why do you care, you can't see them."

"I can't see anything, yet I still care about a lot of things."

"Why? You're not able to see them,"

"I can't see you but I still love you." He made a noise that made him sound like he was going to say something, yet he stopped.

"I don't care that I'm blind, I'm here, holding you, loving you. I will love you for as long as you want me too, but I won't forget you."

"But you can only hear me, you can't..."

"I know I can't see you,but you know I love to hold you. It lets me feel closer to you."

"I can't win this...Can i?" I chuckled.

"I'm the blind one here, I may not be an earthbender but i will sure rock your world." He laughed.

"You already have."

"In a good way?"

"In a good way."
