no sleep and suspicion
((Y/n) POV Still)
I sat there frozen for a second. I heard anti's room door close up stairs, and I took a shaky sip of my coffee. I sat, once more silent in the darkness. It was a comfort to me sometimes, whenever I felt scared or sad I would sit in the dark, listening to the sounds of the world. Then the glowing eyes of my nightmare monster flashed in my vision. My breath became shallow, and my vision blurred. I was having a panic attack. Memories from the woods and the slender creature came back to me, and the eyes haunted my vision. I tried to take deep breaths, but the motions I was making me hurt my new scars on my chest and shoulder. Thoughts invaded my head like a swarm of fire ants, stinging my eyes with tears. My coffee mug dropped off the table and made a loud shattering sound, but it was muffled by my heart beat and white noise that filled my ears. I sat on the floor, clutching my chest, trying and failing to get bigger breaths in my lungs. There was a crushing weight on my chest and on my head that made it hurt even more. I heard a pair of footsteps approach hurriedly. My vision got blurrier and I felt myself losing consciousness. Then it all went black.
(DARK'S POV)
I heard a crash downstairs and got up to investigate. I walked down stairs, then heard someone in the dining room. I ran in and saw (y/n) on the ground, breathing very heavily. She then slowly lost conciseness. I picked her up and felt my wings grow. I walked out the backdoor and took to the air with one swoop of my dark wings.
We were in flight for about two minuets when (y/n) shifted in her sleep and clutched my shirt. I blushed hard. She looked beautiful in sleep and when awake. I flew a bit faster, then it turned into a glide on the air current. I drifted for awhile in the cool night air, making sure not to shake to much and wake (y/n). We glided over the city for a bit then I found it. My hiding place, the one place that it was safe for me to be me.
((Y/N)'S POV)
(Dream)
The air was dark and damp, I felt I was slumped on a surface, it felt rocky and cold. I lifted my head and blinked, feeling a crick in my neck because of how I was leaning. I stood, dusting off my pants and sweater. I looked around, only being able to see vague out-lines in the darkness. I took a step in the dark and my foot tapped something. I bent down and found the object with my fingers, and picked it up. Upon further inspection I found it was an old lighter, one where you had to flip up the lid to light it. I flipped up the lid and held it out to the darkness. I focused on the flame for awhile, then started to walk further into the, now that I could see, cave.
I walked for a short while, then I heard footsteps behind me. I stopped dead in my tracks. I turned quickly, flailing the flags towards the noise in attempts to shine light on their source. Nothing. I stood still and silent, my ears keen on every sound in the cave. I felt a draft behind me and felt a breath on my neck. I screamed and stumbled forward. I flung the lighter round and it shown on the monster. The same one that gave me the other wounds. She stooped over me as I was laying petrified on the stony floor of the cave. She leaned very close to my face, and stepped on the lighter, crushing my only light source. Then I felt an agonizing pain in my throat and I screamed in pain.
Then I woke up.
I sat bolt up right, breathing heavy and catching my breath. I quickly placed my hands to my throat, and felt four distinct claw scars across the front. My vision cleared and I looked around, noticing I was not in my bed. I panicked. I looked around sharply, taking in the room. The walls were wood, and the rest of the decor was black and gray, making the room sleek and nice looking. The floors were wood, with a rug on top for style. I got out of the bed and snuck across the carpet over to the cracked door. I opened it and stepped out quietly.
"Oh... You're awake," I heard a familiar voice behind me. I jumped at the sudden noise and spun around quickly. I was met with the face of dark, in his hands was a tray of food.
"Here, we can go eat at the dining table." he said, turning and walking back to where he came. I followed quietly. We sat at the small dining table, and dark handed me a plate with some toast and eggs. I began eating silently, barley making a sound with my fork. Dark noticed the silence.
"Hey are you okay?" he asked politely.
"Nothing." I replied shortly, stuffing more food in my mouth.
"Hey.... Were did you get those marks?" he asked, just realizing their presence.
"You'd think I'm pshyco." I stated.
"Try me." dark challenged, leaning foreward on his seat.
"I've been having these dreams lately..." I started, dark nodded. I took off my sweater since I had a tanktop underneath. I showed him the scars on my shoulder and chest.
"In these dreams a monster comes after me and attacks me, and when I wake up the scars appear." I stated, my eyes tearing up. My voice shook,
"This is the second time... I am scared." I stated truthfully, there was no point in hiding the dreams and scars, because I knew they would only get worse with time. I left out the part about the monster telling me I'm worthless. Dark stopped what he was doing and got up. He walked over to me and bent down, engulfing me in a giant hug.
(Sorry for cliff hanger! I am updating books so I can get my homework and other stuff done. I know this book is going south and I am not very writing inspired right now, more into drawing at the moment. Any ways have fun and hope you're enjoying the book! Bye!)
